Twenty-five lines in a page.</p> <p>Another copy of the <em>Kash</em><em>ḳ</em><em>&ucirc;l </em>in one volume, resembling, as it seems, the MS. described by <a href="https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q66290">Fl&uuml;gel</a>, l.c.</p> <p>Written in Nasta&rsquo;liḳ, the lines running in various directions. Coloured lines round the pages. Of the twelfth century.</p> <p>It concludes with the colophon of the original copy, which begins: تم المجلد الخامس من الكشكول بعون الله تعالى و يتلوه المجلد السادس (!) بحسن توفيقه نسخته من خط جامعه جمع الله بيننا و بينه فى الدارين الخ , but has no date.</p> <p>The single parts of the work form separate volumes مجلد) , only the first and second are not separated (see fol. 68<em>v</em>.) ; the conclusion of the former is different from the common one, and something is omitted at the beginning of the latter , which commences : تولى ابن السراج القضاء الخ.</p> <p>Foll. 310 and 311 should be placed between 306 and 307.</p> <p>On the title-page are added: a tract proving the existence of God; a note regarding the anthropomorphism of various sects, which is derived from the author's own copy (نقل من خط المصنف قدس سره بواسطين ) ; and the names of the Seven Sleepers, اصحاب الكهف, the latter by a different hand.</p> <p>In a strong binding of blue leather, with gold ornaments, and with frequent impressions of the mark &OElig; on the back.</p> <p>[College of Fort William, 1825.]</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Seventeen lines in a page.</p> <p>كتاب الدرة المكللة فى فتوح مكة المبجلة زادها الله تعالى شرفا و كرما و مهابة و تعظيما تاليف الشيخ الامام العالم المحدث ابى الحسن البكرى رضى الله عنه و رحم سلفه آمين.</p> <p>A legendary and poetical account of the conquest of Makkah by the Prophet, ascribed to ABU&rsquo;L-ḤASAN BAKR&Icirc; (probably Shams al-d&icirc;n Muḥammad b. &lsquo;Abd al-raḥm&acirc;n Miṣr&icirc;, who died about A.H. 950 ; sec <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashf_al-Zunun">Ḥ. Kh.</a> <em>Passim</em>). It was printed at Cairo, A.H. 1282.</p> <p>Beginning: الحمدلله رب العالمين &lsquo; و العاقبة للمتقين &lsquo; و لا عدوان الاّ على الظالمين &lsquo; احمده على نعمه .... اما بعد فهذا ما تيسّر الينا من كتاب الدرة المكللة فى فتوح مكة المبجلة روى عن الامام على بن ابى طالب الخ.</p> <p>The progress of the recital is frequently marked by the words قال الراوى . A special authority is not introduced.</p> <p>Plainly written, by &lsquo;Omar Ibn Ḥij&acirc;z&icirc;. Dated Thursday, 23rd Jum. I., 1062. The first fragment relates the adventures of Am&icirc;r M&ucirc;sa, governor of Africa under &lsquo;Abd al-malik, in search of the demons of Solomon.
