Muscle MRI in two SMA patients on nusinersen treatment: A two years follow-up
<p><strong>Introduction: </strong>The effects of nusinersen in adults with SMA rely on neuromotor function scales and qualitative assessments. There are limited clinical or imaging data on muscle changes over time.</p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong>Two adult SMA patients underwent clinical assessments including measures of upper and lower limb function with Revised Upper Limb Module (RULM) and Hammersmith Function Motor Scale Expanded (HFMSE); both patients were also studied with whole-body muscle MRI (T1-weighted and Diffusion Tensor Imaging/DTI sequences), at baseline and after 10 and 24 months from the beginning of treatment with nusinersen.</p> <p><strong>Results: </strong>After two years of treatment, HFMSE and RULM scores were stable in both patients. DTI sequences revealed an increased number, length and organization of muscle fiber tracks, and Fractional Anisotropy (FA) values showed a significant reduction after 10 and 24 months from baseline, in their corresponding maps.</p> <p><strong>Discussion: </strong>Muscle DTI imaging seems to play an interesting role to monitor treatment effects over time in adult SMA patients.</p>
PENGARUH KEMAMPUAN DASAR MATEMATIKA DAN KEBIASAAN BELAJAR MANDIRI SISWA TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA SMA N 4 HALMAHERA TIMUR
<p><span>Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan pengaruh antar variabel yaitu variabel (X1) kemampuan dasar matematika dan variabel (X2) kebiiasaan belajar mandiri terhadap variabel (Y) hasil belajar matematika. </span><span>Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif dengan dengan metode deskriptif atau teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif<span>. sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XII IPA 2 SMAN 4 Halmahera Timur yang berjumlah 15 orang. Pengumpulan data di lakukan dengan mengisi angket/kuesioner dan menjawab tes soal matematika. </span></span><span>Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik korelasi product moment dan uji regresi linear sederhana yang terlebih dahulu menguji persyaratan analisis, yaitu uji normalitas, dan uji linearitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui nilai R<sub>hitung </sub>> R<sub>tabel</sub> dimana R<sub>hitung</sub> sebesar 0,827 lebih besar dari R<sub>tabel</sub> sebesar 0,514 dan nilai sinifikan 0.001 kurang dari 0,05, sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kemampuan dasar matematika dan kebiasaan belajr mandiri terhadap hasil belajar matematika.</span></p>
EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MELALUI PENERAPAN MODEL LEARNING CYCLE PADA SISWA KELAS XI SMA
<p><span>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penerapan model Learning Cycle dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Halmahera Selatan pada materi satuan eksperimen adalah kelas X sebanyak 28 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 11 orang laki-laki dan 17 orang perempuan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra-eksperimen dengan desain The One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah dengan cara Multistage Sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan angket respons siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Analisis hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) skor rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa sebelum diterapkan model Learning Cycle adalah 23,75 dan berada pada kategori sangat rendah dengan standar deviasi 8,204., sedangkan skor rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa setelah diterapkan model Learning Cycle adalah 77,21 dengan standar deviasi 9,359 dimana skor terendah adalah 54 dan skor tertinggi adalah 92. Dari hasil tersebut diperoleh bahwa 25 siswa atau 89,29% mencapai ketuntasan individu dan 3 siswa atau 10,71% tidak mencapai ketuntasan individu. Ini berarti ketuntasan secara klasikal tercapai dengan nilai gain ternormalisasi yaitu 0,70 berada pada kategori tinggi. (3) aktivitas siswa berada pada kategori baik. (4) angket respons siswa menunjukkan bahwa respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran melalui model Learning Cycle positif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Learning Cycle efektif dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Halmaera Selatan.</span></p>
