Raw data for "Looking for the World in Hungarian Literature: Foreign Authors in Early Twentieth-Century periodicals"

<p>Raw data generated for the project "Hungarian Literature as World Literature", describing foreign authors in the Hungarian journal A H&eacute;t (1890-1924). The metadata was created by Mih&aacute;ly Benda, Jessie Labov, and Szilvia Mar&oacute;thy, working from the Repertorium of foreign authors in A H&eacute;t compiled by Ferenc Galambos in 1954. The original index was transformed into structured data and georeferenced, for the project "Hungarian Literature as World Literature", led by Zolt&aacute;n Z. Varga at the Institute of Literary Studies of the Resesarch Center for the Humanities, Hungarian Research Network, funded by the Nemzeti Kutat&aacute;si, Fejleszt&eacute;si &eacute;s Innov&aacute;ci&oacute;s Hivatal (National Research, Development and Innovation Office) grant K 138668.</p>

<p>According to research results (Figure 2), almost 68% of the entities with tourist information and promotion role own a proper site for the presentation of the work, while 18.35%, most probably do not realize in pragmatic terms the usefulness of such promotional tools. The situation can be cataloged as quite worrying, especially if we consider that today, due to the fulminant development of smartphones, more and more tourists choose to seek information on the Internet, even during their trip to a new destination (Wang el. al. 2012).</p>

<p>Datasets represents the modelling results for:</p> <p>- Coastal Upwelling Transport Index (CUTI) of the National Oceanic and Administrative Administration&rsquo;s Environmental Research Division (NOAA-ERD) was used to derive the time series of the coastal upwelling index in four locations on the north-western Black Sea coast. The coastal upwelling index time series was calculated using monthly average wind fields from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWFs) reanalysis and MATLAB software to compute the CUTI&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>- The upwelling index (UI) is computed using the CUTI Formula (<span>Bakun Index </span>), defined as CUTI (m3&middot;s&minus;1&middot;100 m&minus;1), representing the volume transport per distance unit of an alongshore section. Georeferenced birthplaces of identified DTA authors

<p>The dataset provides geo-coordinates of the birthplaces of more than 900 authors of the German Text Archive.&nbsp;Birthplaces were identified using the services of the German National Library (DNB), but also other sources such as Wikipedia, and then geocoordinated.&nbsp;</p> <p>The dataset was created in the study by Lameli (2018). Formulas for calculating food self-sufficiency ratios in previous studies and author comments

<p><span>The<strong> food self-sufficiency ratio of each country</strong> is obtained by dividing the amount of food production by the amount of food supply, but this is not the only way to calculate the food self-sufficiency ratio. Before starting the calculation, issues such as the food to be calculated, the unit of measurement of food and its data source, and the calculation method for primary and secondary products must be resolved. We summarized how major previous studies have addressed this issue.<strong> The author of this document selected 20 studies that contain specific descriptions from previous studies on this issue</strong>. The author then added comments to all previous studies. The main comment was that although <strong>the formula for calculating the food self-sufficiency ratio of each country is incomplete</strong>, there is a large amount of valid previous research that contains many suggestions.</span></p>

CHEN-AND: A Labeled Dataset for Chinese and English Joint Author Name Disambiguation

<p>Abstract: Author name disambiguation (AND) is an important problem in literature databases and is even more prominent in the cross-language (database) context. Extensive research has been conducted in the academic community to eliminate such ambiguity. However, the existing research mainly focuses on monolingual literature, with less attention paid to author disambiguation in cross-language environments. In this regard, this study focuses on a typical cross-language author disambiguation task - Chinese and English joint author disambiguation. We first propose an automated dataset construction method for Chinese-English literature joint AND using online open resources, with this method, we create a dataset named CHEN-AND for joint Chinese and English author disambiguation. Then we propose a merging-first-then-disambiguation (MFTD)--based disambiguation framework and evaluate several variants of this method on the test dataset.&nbsp;For details on building this dataset, please refer to <a href="https://github.com/carmanzhang/CHEN-AND">this repository</a> on my GitHub page.</p>
