<p><strong>Description</strong></p> <p>This repository contains the dataset required to reproduce all the figures of the article &quot;Samuel D. Escribano, Alfredo Levy Yeyati and Elsa Prada,<em> </em><strong><em>Improved effective equation for the Rashba spin-orbit coupling in semiconductor nanowires</em></strong>, arXiv:2001.04375 (2020)&quot;.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Structure of the dataset</strong></p> <p>All the data is saved in Matlab file-format .mat. Their file names correspond to the figure that they plot. Together with each dataset, there is a Python script .py which plots the corresponding figure. The output of every script is the corresponding figure in PDF-format .pdf. Please, read &quot;reedme.txt&quot; file for further information.</p>

Micromagnetics of magnetic chemical modulations in soft-magnetic cylindrical nanowires

<p>Abstract:</p> <p>We analyze the micromagnetics of short longitudinal modulations of a high magnetization material in cylindrical nanowires made of a soft-magnetic material of lower magnetization such as Permalloy, combining magnetic microscopy, analytical modeling and micromagnetic simulations. The mismatch of magnetization induces curling of magnetization around the axis in the modulations, in an attempt to screen the interfacial magnetic charges. The curling angle increases with modulation length, until a plateau is reached with nearly full charge screening for a specific length scale, larger than the dipolar exchange length of any of the two materials. The curling circulation can be switched by the &OElig;rsted field arising from a charge current with typical magnitude 10<sup>12</sup>A/m<sup>2</sup>.</p>

Hexagonal Silicon-Germanium Nanowire Branches with Tunable Composition

<p>Hexagonal SiGe-2H has been recently shown to have a direct bandgap, and holds the promise to be compatible with silicon technology. Hexagonal Si (Ge) has been grown on an epitaxial lattice matched template consisting of wurtzite GaP (GaAs). Here, we present the growth of hexagonal Si and SiGe nanowire branches grown from a wurtzite stem by the Vapor-Liquid-Solid (VLS) growth mode, which is substantiated by&nbsp;<em>in-situ</em>&nbsp;transmission electron microscopy. We show that the composition can be tuned through the whole range of stoichiometry from Si to Ge, and the possibility to realize Si and SiGe heterostructures in these branches.&nbsp;</p>
