PERCEIVE WP5: The multiplicity of shared meanings of EU and Cohesion Regional and Urban Policy at different discursive levels
<p>The data set will contain all the shareable data collected and generated through the different tasks of WP5, that are interdependent. In particular, in Task5.1 we collected a bibliography, which is already included in the dataset. In Task5.2 we collected a large collection of data from different documentary sources and media: EU policies and reports, descriptions and reports created by Local Managing Authorities, newspaper articles, tweets, Facebook posts referred to EU CP policies. During Task5.3 we analyzed these data through Mallet software to elicit topics, as sets of words that co-occur together. The results of the linear regression analysis will be in this data set as well. The results of the analysis will consist of tables of texts and of numerical data.</p> <p>Collected data are only partly available online, therefore our generated data will have a unique value, as there is no comparable public source of data. Data will be helpful for all student and practitioners willing to understand how the concepts of Cohesion Policies, Europe and European identity are shaped in the public sphere.</p>
Polidoc.net CODEBOOK: National and Regional Manifestos and other Political Documents Collected for the Research Projects "Representation in Europe: Congruence between Preferences of Elites and Voters" (REPCONG) and "The Impact of EU Cohesion Policy on European Identification" (COHESIFY)
<p>The Political Documents Archive http://www.polidoc.net/ contains election manifestos, coalition agreements, government declarations and various other documents of political actors from developed democracies. Currently, the archive builds on a stock of more than 3000 political documents from 20 European countries. The aim of the repository is to provide political texts in order to facilitate scholarly research in different areas of comparative politics such as party competition, coalition politics, legislative decision-making or electoral behavior.</p> <p>National electoral manifestos have been collected in the course of the REPCONG project ("Representation in Europe: Policy Congruence between Citizens and Elites"), and the archive includes party manifestos for regional elections in several European democracies. Because the process of European integration resulted in a strengthening of regions in EU member states and in countries that want to join the European Union, the relevance of the regional level for political decision-making has increased during the last decades. Therefore, also the policy profiles of regional parties are required to get a full picture of democratic responsiveness in European states across all levels of the political system. The collection of regional manifestos was supported by the COHESIFY project (www.cohesify.eu), funded under the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The aim of COHESIFY is to study whether the European Structural and Investment Funds affect people’s support for and identification with the European project.</p> <p>The archive is freely accessible (after a simple registration) and meant to foster rigorous research in these areas by enabling scholars to produce valid and reliable findings from empirical studies of textual data rather than unnecessarily struggling to obtain and process texts.</p>

The global renewable power support policy dataset
<p>The global renewable power support policy dataset was compiled by Sarah Hafner (Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom) and Johan Lilliestam (Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), Germany) in February-July 2017 and completed during 2017. The work was led by Johan Lilliestam but each author gathered half of the data. The data was formatted and checked for internal consistency by Tim Tröndle, IASS.</p> <p>All non-commercial users are allowed to use and manipulate our data, but are required to give appropriate attribution. Doi: https://doi.org/ 10.5281/zenodo.3371375.</p> <p><strong>If you are interested in contributing</strong> to and further developing the dataset: please contact Johan Lilliestam (IASS Potsdam).</p> <p>The search was done in publically available sources, including but not limited to the IEA renewables policy database, res-legal.eu, Worldbank data, as well as data from the responsible national ministries.</p> <p>Our data holds information on 10 specific policy instruments explicitly dedicated to the support for expansion of renewable electricity generation 1990-2016; some instruments, including taxation of non-renewables or emission trading, affect other sectors than renewable power, but are mentioned in their original policy description to also be dedicated to increasing renewable power. Our data concerns national policy measures, but ignores policies enacted on higher (e.g. EU-level in Europe) or lower (e.g. state-level policies in Canada, USA) political levels. For example, the “no support” entry for the United Arab Emirates indicates that there were no national-level policies: all policies were, in this case, emirate-specific.</p> <p>The data exists in two versions: one version readable for humans (RE_policies_fullglobal.xlsx) and for each instrument type as .csv. The information in the two versions is identical and differs only in the way it is displayed.</p> <p><strong>Please refer to the metadata file for a detailed description of the dataset and the data categories.</strong></p>

We don’t have the permission to share these data (as they are protected by copyright), but all the sources are described in Deliverable 5.2, which is public (see <a href="http://doi.org/10.6092/unibo/amsacta/5726">http://doi.org/10.6092/unibo/amsacta/5726</a> or <a href="http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1318184">http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.1318184</a>).</p> <p>During Task5.3 we analyzed the textual content of data listed in Task5.2, to construct a database of discursive topics in Task5.4. Data set includes the description of topics (results of topic modeling), clusters of topics obtained both interpretively and algorithmically, and the relevant data regarding sentiment and semantic analyses.</p> <p>Task5.5 regards a statistical analysis linking public discourse and different definitions of being Europeans on the one hand with European identification on the other hand. The data set contains the measures of variables used to run the regression test, and the results of the test in tabular form.</p>
Dataset on consumer acceptance of policy measures for sustainable food consumption
<p>This data was obtained from an online survey conducted with Swiss participants from the German-speaking parts of Switzerland. The survey was conducted in February 2023. Participants were recruited through a professional panel provider and quotas were used for age and gender. The final sample contained 453 respondents. In the first part of the survey, respondents provided basic sociodemographic information and reported how often they consumed meat and dairy products. In the second part, their knowledge regarding the environmental impact of food was assessed using an existing scale by Hartmann et al. (2021). Next, respondents indicated for 19 different policy measures how much they agreed with each of them. Finally, respondents answered several questions assessing their health consciousness and environmental attitudes using existing scales. The survey can be used and adapted to different contents, aiming to investigate public acceptance of policy measures for sustainable food consumption.</p>
Monitoring and evaluation of UKRI's Open Access Policy: Exploring the use of open data sources to inform baseline values - Dataset
<p>This dataset accompanies the report <em>"Monitoring and evaluation of UKRI's Open Access Policy: Exploring the use of open data sources to inform baseline values"</em>, which is available via Zenodo.<br><br>It provides record-level data of UKRI-funded and UK-affiliated research output (limited to journal articles with Crossref DOIs) published between 2012 and 2022 - including bibliographic metadata as well as data on open access availability, publisher, national and international collaborations, citations, views and downloads, altmetrics and subjects (fields). Qualitative dataset - Socially just urban food policy implementation: a case study in Groningen (NL)
<p>This qualitative dataset contains the transcripts of 43 interviews that have been conducted with members of social food initiatives (e.g. community gardens and orchards, food assistance, social restaurants, food education projects, social employment trajectories, fair trade campaigns, and so on) in the city of Groningen, as well as the interview guide and the information sheet and consent form that have been used during data collection. In addition, the upload includes the interview guide, posters, assessment table, information sheet and consent form that have been used in a two-part focus group with 3 food policy coordinators of the municipality of Groningen. The data was collected from November 2019 till March 2020. Climate Policy Modelling Protocol
<p>This protocol includes current energy and climate policies for major economies, and details the instruments, targets and sectors for each policy. It provides a detailed list of climate policies as well as their quantification (following the Integrated Assessment Modelling Community (IAMC) conventions where possible). The final goal is to translate climate policies into energy and climate model input, and facilitate policy impact projections on greenhouse gas emissions.</p> <p>Climate policy on the national level, is defined as the result of climate policy formulation and climate policy implementation that encompasses aspirational goals not secured by legislation, national targets that are secured by legislation, and policy instruments designed to implement these targets. Only implemented policies are included in this protocol, and are defined as policies adopted by the government through legislation or executive orders, and non-binding targets backed by effective policy instruments.</p> <p>To compose the protocol, first a selection of climate policies with potentially high impact in terms of emission reductions is performed by the policy teams of PBL and NewClimate (<a href="https://www.climatepolicydatabase.org/">Climate Policy Database</a>), and translated into model input indicators. Then, with the help of (inter)national experts and partners, an evaluation round of the selected policies is performed, before finalizing the complete policy list. Policy instruments are represented in the integrated assessment models as explicit as possible, but simplification is sometimes necessary; replicating the impact on greenhouse gas emissions and the energy system transformation is considered as the most important factor. </p> <p>It should be noted that the policy environment is constantly changing, thus policy changes with a possibly high impact may occur between protocol updates that are not included in certain versions. Under ELEVATE, the protocol received major updates in terms of standardization of policy and target variable names and units - according to IAMC conventions, to facilitate use from all Integrated Assessment Models in the community.</p>

This report is the second deliverable of WP4 – Measuring and assessing impacts and costs of a just green transition in the WB, of the GreenFORCE project. It was jointly authored by the WB project partners, as well as 2 subcontracted parties from the region.</p> <p>The EU Economic and Investment Plan for the WB includes a green agenda for the WB, with pillars to be pursued for transitioning towards a carbon-neutral economy. Such a shift will surely challenge the economies and societies in the WB. The social and policy context is yet fragile to allow for the development and mass distribution of green transition technologies, while human resources are not prepared and/or are insufficient to produce and implement innovation. Yet, the green transition also paves the way towards new development and resilience opportunities. The research will inform on the readiness/potential of societal actors (industry, academia, policymakers, civic society) to embrace the pathways to transformation, and will propose a framework for continuous monitoring of impacts and costs. The key findings and lessons learnt derived within WP4 will be transferred into the scientific papers and policy briefs (WP 2 & 3) and published under the dissemination events (WP5).</p> <p>Regional mapping is a key task for the research, contributing to initial data gathering and the refinement of the research proposal, and to the sub-question on the identification of sectors and territories affected by the transitions and current progress of transition practices.
