Survey data of the health literacy on COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia
<p><span><strong>Introduction</strong>: </span><span>Health literacy on COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination is valuable during the pandemic. The objective of this study was to determine the levels of health literacy about the COVID-19 vaccine and vaccination (Vaccine and Vaccination literacy—VL) in the Indonesian adult general population, assessing the perceptions of the respondents/interviewees about current adult immunization and beliefs about vaccination in general, and analyzing correlations of these variables with the VL levels.</span><span> </span></p> <p><span><strong>Methods</strong>: </span><span>A rapid survey was administered via the web. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential stats; the internal consistency of the VL scales was assessed through Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was conducted to investigate how the questions of the functional and interactive-critical VL scales were related to one another and whether the underlying components (factors) and each question's load on the components could be identified as anticipated. An alpha level lesser than 0.05 was considered significant.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Results</strong>: </span><span>Answers to functional- and interactive/ critical- VL questions showed good/ acceptable internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.817 and 0.699, respectively), lowest values observed were 0.806 for functional scale and 0.640 for the interactive-critical scale. PCA showed two components accounting for 52.45% of the total variability. Approximately 60% of respondents were females (n=686). Almost all respondents used the internet to seek information regarding COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination. Many used at least one social media actively with 74.4% of respondents sometimes believing the validity of this information.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Conclusions:</strong> </span><span>High scores were observed in both functional- and interactive/ critical-VL, and were quite balanced between genders in the prior VL and higher in females for the latter; these were also closely related to the educational level and age group. It is crucial to increase public health literacy on managing the pandemic.</span></p>

Adaptive, randomized, non-inferiority trial to evaluate the efficacy of monoclonal antibodies in outpatients with mild or moderate COVID-19
<p><span>The dataset is based on the results of a trial called MANTICO (Clinical trial number NCT05205759). The study is a non-inferiority randomised controlled trial comparing the clinical efficacy of bamlanivimab/etesevimab, casirivimab/imdevimab, and sotrovimab in outpatients aged 50 or older with early COVID-19. The primary outcome was COVID-19 progression (hospitalisation, need of supplemental oxygen therapy, or death through day 14). </span></p>
Internet-based interdisciplinary therapeutic group for perinatal anxiety and depression - a randomized pilot study during COVID-19
<p><strong>Abstract</strong>:</p> <p><strong>Background</strong>: Recent years have seen growing interest in the impact that stress and depressive/anxiety symptomatology have on mothers, fetal development, the mother-baby relationship and infant development. Depressed mothers spend less time making eye-contact with their babies, and caressing and talking to them, which can cause delays in cognitive and emotional development. Early interventions promote reductions in mothers’ stress and anxiety symptoms along with improvements in their ability to read infant cues appropriately. Group perinatal care and internet-based therapeutic interventions were essential during the Covid period and telemedicine ensures continuity of contact with high-risk populations. The aim of this novel study was to assess the effects of interdisciplinary online therapeutic group in at-risk mothers and babies during the Covid-19 pandemic in a disadvantaged neighborhood in Barcelona (Spain).</p> <p><strong>Method</strong>: An interdisciplinary team offered gestating women and mothers comprehensive care in a protective environment in a Primary Health Care Center. Pregnant women and new mothers were screened to detect depressive-anxiety symptomatology through EPDS/STAI questionnaires. A total of 135 babies were born from March 2020 to June 2021, during the pandemic, and 72 women met high-risk criteria for anxiety or depression. Some 37 pregnant women and mother-baby dyads were treated in the therapeutic group and compared with 27 women randomly selected from the control group, who received treatment as usual. A blinded pediatric follow-up was established when the babies were 6 months old to monitor their development through the Llevant Scale. The course of the mothers’ symptomatology was also assessed.</p> <p><strong>Results</strong>: We obtained a significant decrease in depressive-anxiety symptomatology (EPDS p=0.000; STAI state p=0.015 and STAI trait p=0.001 at 6 months of life) in the therapeutic group compared with controls. Follow-up at 6 months demonstrated significant differences between groups in assessment of the babies’ development (manipulation p=0.003; language p=0.000; sociability p=0.000). The therapeutic group showed no difficulties in any areas of development.</p> <p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Interdisciplinary online therapeutic group helps to ensure healthy development of the baby and reduction of the mothers’ depressive-anxiety symptomatology. Future research should involve larger samples to explore the impact of online group interventions in both mothers and babies.</p> <p><strong>Trial registration: </strong>The study is registered at Jordi Gol i Gurina Foundation number 21/276-P.</p>
Global-scale modeling of early factors and country-specific trajectories of COVID-19 incidence: a cross-sectional study of the first 6 months of the pandemic
<p><span>Studies examining factors responsible for COVID-19 incidence </span><span>are</span><span> mostly focused at the national or sub-national level. A global-level characterization of contributing factors and temporal trajectories of disease incidence is lacking. Here we conducted a global-scale analysis of COVID-19 infections to identify key factors associated with early disease incidence. Additionally, we compared longitudinal trends of COVID-19 incidence at a per-country level and classified countries based on COVID-19 incidence trajectories and effects of lockdown responses. </span><span>Univariate analysis identified</span> <span>eleven variables as independently associated with COVID-19 infections at a global level (p<1e-05). Multivariable analysis identified a 4-variable model as optimal for explaining global variations in COVID-19 (p<0.01). COVID-19 case trajectories for most countries were best captured by a log-logistic model, as determined by AIC estimates. Six predominant country clusters were identified when characterizing the effects of lockdown intervals on variations in COVID-19 new cases per country.</span> <span>Globally, economic and meteorological factors are important determinants of early COVID-19 incidence. Analysis of longitudinal trends and lockdown effects on COVID-19 highlights important nuances in country-specific responses to infections. These results </span><span>provide valuable insights into disease incidence at a per-country level, possibly allowing for more informed decision making by individual governments in future disease outbreaks.</span></p>

The wind is one of the climate factors besides temperature, humidity, and rainfall. Wind speed data can be used to study the spread of COVID-19 cases.</p>
COVID-19 Impact on European Higher Education Survey Data
<p>This dataset consists of the results of the first European-Union-wide survey on the potential long-term impacts of COVID-19 on higher education (Huth, M. & Cominola, A., 2022 forthcoming), evaluating over 800 responses from students and faculty members of higher education institutions located in 17 different European countries. The data consists of variables related to the actual pre-pandemic, pandemic and intended future frequency of use of various educational tools and formats, as well as students and faculty members' attitude toward retaining digital teaching formats and media post-pandemic. The data is shared in SPSS file format (.sav) and as a .CSV file. A detailed item bank label overview is attached in excel format. The attitude related items consists of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) construct variables following items used by Rizun et al. (2021) and Vladova et al. (2021). Following guidelines (Hair et al. 2019; Henseler, Ringle, and Sarstedt 2015) to establish discriminant validity before analysing the TAM variables in a structural equation model, the objective had to be disregarded. The data might still yield interesting descriptive insights nonetheless, which is why they are published here along with the variables used in the forthcoming publication by Huth and Cominola (2022). </p>

<p>The world is presently burdened with the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 7 February 2022, there have been 394,381,395 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 5,735,179 deaths, reported to WHO. We used the Health Belief Model as a conceptual framework, which has largely been tested empirically to predict preventive health behaviour, focusing on the relationship between health behaviour on COVID-19 prevention. This data contains the questionnaire that we used in this research. The data contains questionnaire related to measuring Community Perception and COVID-19 Preventive using the Health Belief Model in Indonesia: Structural Equation Model Analysis and the data can be opened with Microsoft Excel.</p>

Raw Data for the article: Impact of the Organizational Model Adopted during the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Perceived Safety of Intensive Care Unit Staff
<p><strong>Background: </strong>The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic had a devastating health, social, and economic effect on the population. Organizational, technical and structural operations aimed at protecting staff, outpatients and inpatients were implemented in an Italian hospital with a COVID-19 dedicated intensive care unit. The impact of the organizational model adopted on the perceived safety among staff was evaluated.</p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong>Descriptive, structured and voluntary, anonymous, non-funded, self-administered cross-sectional surveys on the impact of the organizational model adopted during COVID-19 on the perceived safety among staff.</p> <p><strong>Results: </strong>Response rate to the survey was 67.4% (153 completed surveys). A total of 91 (59%) of respondents had more than three years of ICU experience, while 16 (10%) were employed for less than one year. Group stratification according to profession: 74 nurses (48%); 12 medical-doctors (7%); 11 physiotherapists (7%); 35 nurses-aides (22%); 5 radiology-technicians (3%); 3 housekeeping (1%); 13 other (8%). The organizational model implemented at ISMETT made them feel safe during their workday. A total of 113 (84%) agreed or strongly agreed with the sense of security resulting from the implemented measures. A vast majority of respondents perceived COVID-19 as a dangerous and deadly disease (94%) not only for themselves but even more as vectors towards their families (79%). A total of 55% of staff took isolation measures and moved away from their home by changing personal habits. The organizational model was perceived overall as appropriate (91%) to guarantee their health.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The vast majority of respondents perceived the overall model applied during an unexpected, emergency situation as appropriate.</p>
Raw Data for the article: Analysis of the Specific Immune Response after the Third Dose of mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines in Organ Transplant Recipients: Possible Spike-S1 Reactive IgA Signature in Protection from SARS-CoV-2 Infection
<p><strong>Background:</strong> Several studies have indicated that anti-SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccinations are less effective in inducing robust immune responses among solid organ transplant recipients (SOTRs) compared with the immunocompetent. The third dose of vaccine in SOTRs showed promising results of immunogenicity, even though clinical studies have suggested that immunocompromised subjects are less likely to build a protective immune response against SARS-CoV-2 resulting in lower vaccine efficacy for the prevention of severe COVID-19. <strong>Methods:</strong> Serological IgG and IgA were analyzed through CLIA or ELISA, respectively, while Spike-specific T cells were detected by ELISpot assay after the second and third dose of vaccine in 43 SOTRs. <strong>Results:</strong> The third dose induced an improvement in antibody response against SARS-CoV-2. We also reported a strong correlation between specific humoral and cellular responses after the third dose, even though we did not see significant changes in the magnitude of the SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell response. SOTRs who contracted the SARS-CoV-2 infection after the third dose, despite eliciting a positive IgG response, failed to mount an anti-Spike-S1 IgA response, both after the third dose and after SARS-CoV-2 infection. <strong>Conclusions:</strong> We can conclude that serum IgA detection can be helpful, along with IgG detection, for the evaluation of vaccine efficacy, principally in fragile subjects at high risk of infection.</p>
Raw Data for the article: COVID-19 safety measures at the Radiology Unit of a Transplant Institute: the non-COVID-19 patient's confidence with safety procedures
<p><strong>Purpose: </strong>To support the wellbeing of both patients and their families, our aim was to investigate the satisfaction of non-COVID in- and out-patients regarding safety measures implemented at our radiology unit of a transplant institute against COVID infection.</p> <p><strong>Materials and methods: </strong>Over a five-month period, adult patients' feedback was obtained by a questionnaire on the fear of contracting COVID-19 during a radiology examination, the perceived delay in treatment, and the following safety measures implemented: modified schedules to limit the number of patients in the waiting area and to maximize social distancing; assistance by staff when visitors were not admitted; cleaning and disinfection of machines; mask wearing and hand hygiene of staff; and staff advice on hand hygiene and infection control precautions.</p> <p><strong>Results: </strong>Over a five-month period, our preliminary results (387 patients) showed general patient satisfaction (99.1%) with safety measures applied at our radiology unit. Patients were satisfied with distancing and assistance by staff (100%), cleaning and disinfection (91%), mask wearing and hand hygiene of the staff (97%), and staff advice (94%). There was some criticism of the perceived delay in treatment (7.3%) and in the scheduling of the waiting list (5.4%), with 5.4% fearing contracting the virus. Patients' awareness of safety measures and confidence in the hospital preparedness policy was perceived by all interviewers, and 100% appreciated being questioned.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The feedback given by the non-COVID patient helps to measure the quality in health care, to improve the quality service, and to protect and satisfy more vulnerable patients, also during the COVID-19 pandemic.</p>

Covid-19 and Cancer Consortium (CCC19) breast cancer and racial disparities outcomes study
<p><span>Background</span>: Limited information is available for patients with breast cancer (BC) and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), especially among underrepresented racial/ethnic populations.</p> <p><span>Methods</span>: This is a COVID-19 and Cancer Consortium (CCC19) registry-based retrospective cohort study of females with active or history of BC and laboratory-confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection diagnosed between March 2020 and June 2021 in the US. Primary outcome was COVID-19 severity measured on a five-level ordinal scale, including none of the following complications, hospitalization, intensive care unit admission, mechanical ventilation, and all-cause mortality. Multivariable ordinal logistic regression model identified characteristics associated with COVID-19 severity.</p> <p><span>Results</span>: 1,383 female patient records with BC and COVID-19 were included in the analysis, the median age was 61 years, and median follow-up was 90 days. Multivariable analysis revealed higher odds of COVID-19 severity for older age (aOR per decade, 1.48 [95% CI, 1.32–1.67]); Black patients (aOR 1.74; 95 CI 1.24–2.45), Asian Americans and Pacific Islander patients (aOR 3.40; 95 CI 1.70–6.79) and Other (aOR 2.97; 95 CI 1.71–5.17) racial/ethnic groups; worse ECOG performance status (ECOG PS ≥2: aOR, 7.78 [95% CI, 4.83–12.5]); pre-existing cardiovascular (aOR, 2.26 [95% CI, 1.63–3.15])/pulmonary comorbidities (aOR, 1.65 [95% CI, 1.20–2.29]); diabetes mellitus (aOR, 2.25 [95% CI, 1.66–3.04]); and active and progressing cancer (aOR, 12.5 [95% CI, 6.89–22.6]). Hispanic ethnicity, timing, and type of anti-cancer therapy modalities were not significantly associated with worse COVID-19 outcomes. The total all-cause mortality and hospitalization rate for the entire cohort were 9% and 37%, respectively; however, it varied according to the BC disease status.</p> <p><span>Conclusions</span>: Using one of the largest registries on cancer and COVID-19, we identified patient- and BC-related factors associated with worse COVID-19 outcomes. After adjusting for baseline characteristics, underrepresented racial/ethnic patients experienced worse outcomes compared to Non-Hispanic White patients.</p>
Framework for virtual education of COVID-19 vaccines for Mandarin-speaking learners: An educational intervention module
<p><strong>Background</strong>: In the United States, patients with limited English proficiency face significant barriers to comprehending and acting upon health-related information, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ability of health professionals to communicate COVID-19-related information to Mandarin-speaking patients has proved critical in discussions about vaccine efficacy, side effects, and post-vaccine protection.</p> <p><strong>Methods</strong>: The authors created a one-hour educational module to help Mandarin-speaking medical students better convey COVID-19 vaccine information to Mandarin-only speakers. The module is composed of an educational guide, which introduced key terminology and addressed commonly asked questions, and pre- and post-surveys. The authors recruited 59 Mandarin-speaking medical students from 31 U.S. academic medical centers, all of whom had previously completed a medical Mandarin elective. The module and surveys were distributed and completed in August 2021. Data analysis measured the change in aggregate mean for subjective five-point Likert-scale questions and change in percent accuracy for objective knowledge-based questions.</p> <p><strong>Results</strong>: The educational module significantly improved participants' subjective comfort level in discussing the COVID-19 vaccine in English and Mandarin. The largest improvement in both English and Mandarin was demonstrated in the participant's ability to explain differences between the COVID-19 vaccines, with an aggregate mean improvement of 0.39 for English and 1.48 for Mandarin. Survey respondents also demonstrated increased percent accuracy in knowledge-based objective questions in Mandarin.</p> <p><strong>Conclusions</strong>: This module provides Mandarin-learning medical students with skills to deliver reliable information to the general population and acts as a model for the continued development of educational modules for multilingual medical professionals.</p>
