RESEARCH OVERVIEW ABOUT COMPETENCIES OF STARTUPS

<p>Front the current scenario of scientific research about startups, the question that this study focuses on answering is: &ldquo;How is the current research panorama of competencies used in ventures classified as startups?&rdquo; To answer the research problem described, the general objective of this study is: (i) to show the current research panorama about startup competencies. As a secondary objective: (ii) to map the main competencies of startups present in the literature. The scientific gap that this work seeks to response is create a competency framework for early-stage enterprises, in this case, startups. A group of competencies of startups operationalized in the literature were founded and can guide the theoretical framework of future works about the startup business environments, the association with their life cycle and main research themes.</p> <p>The database was did to help the systematic review according to these principles [1]: (i) create a research problem that guides the research; (ii) choose the aspect to be analyzed in the literature; (iii) filter the collected data according to their relevance to the research problem; and (iv) analyze and interpret the data. The databases chosen were &quot;Scopus&quot; and &quot;Web of Science&quot; taking into account the areas &quot;business&quot;, &quot;business finance&quot;, &quot;economics&quot; and &quot;management&quot; in the Web of Science, and &quot;business, management and accounting&quot; and &ldquo;economics, econometric and finance&rdquo; in the Scopus. The research was carried out between January and April 2020 and January 2022. The choice for these databases occurred due to their databases contain most relevant journals in these areas in the literature [2,3].</p> <p>There was no predetermined period of time in this research, but the authors only considered publications that used &ldquo;blind review&rdquo; process by peers. The authors used the keywords &ldquo;startups&rdquo;, &ldquo;startup capabilities&rdquo;, &ldquo;startup competence&rdquo;, &ldquo;startup competencies&rdquo; and &ldquo;competencies&rdquo; to collect the data and obtain the largest possible number of publications about the subject proposed. A total of 1,953 scientific articles published between 1938 and 2021 were found. Firstly, the authors excluded works that had duplication between the two platforms (the same work appearing on both) or that had no relationship with the area of administration, reducing the number of scientific articles to 1,205 published between 1976 and 2021. Next, works that did not specifically deal with topics related to startups were excluded, obtaining 148 articles published between 1996 and 2021. Finally, works that did not deal with startup competencies were excluded, obtaining 71 articles published between 2000 and 2021, that were described in detail in the database.</p> <p>In a bibliometric view, the articles described in this data base were classified according to descriptive (most cited journals, country of origin and year of publication) and methodological (research method) characteristics; in addition to the results (main research topic) and citations (most cited journals). All selected articles were managed by this database plotted in Microsoft Excel with the reference of each publication and its basic information (abstract, keywords, database, type of study and so on). From the reading of the selected papers, the main competences related to startups were mapped and identified.</p>

samples inventory - single-stringer coupons for EoL research - ReINTEGRA

<p>Open access to experimental data generated by the ReINTEGRA project (GA 886609, H2020, European Union, through Clean Sky 2 JU) along the research, at single-stringer coupon level, of the End-of-Life of novel welded Al-Li aerostructures. Research pertaining to Task 1.1 (WP1), Deliverable D1.</p> <p>Processed data originated from calliper and precision balance measurements conducted by AZTERLAN, to determine weight and dimensions of coupons supplied by ecoTECH partners. The file contains the physical description of samples from 15 references of coupons, being each reference a unique combination of stringer and skin alloys, welding technique, stringer configuration, coating and FSW sealant. The coupon samples have been used for investigating cutting strategies and decoating methods (WP2), remelting set-up (WP3) and pre-scrap characterisation protocols (WP4). The experimental plan, with estimation of number of samples required of each reference, was outlined as part of Task 1.1 (WP1).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

HRE2021-0515-03 Research Data: Focus Group Transcripts

<p>The Centre for Culture and Technology (CCAT) at Curtin University undertook a project aiming to provide better support for grey literature research outputs including reports, working papers and blog posts.&nbsp;</p> <p>The research team for the project &lsquo;Increasing the Visibility of Grey Literature&rsquo; was:</p> <ul> <li>Professor Katie Ellis, Centre for Culture and Technology</li> <li>Niamh Quigley, Research Associate, Centre for Culture and Technology</li> </ul> <p>This dataset contains the deidentified transcripts of two focus groups held with producers of grey literature at&nbsp;Curtin University, Perth, Australia.&nbsp;The participants have been deidentified, and named as P1 to P9. In focus group 1, P1 was an observer. Research Integrity Promotion Work

<p>The aim of the research was to delve into the meaningfulness of such work as promotion of research integrity. The following research questions were formulated:</p> <p>1) What aspects of the role of research integrity promoter are meaningful? Why?</p> <p>2) To what changes does research integrity promotion as meaningful work lead?</p> <p>To answer these research questions, a qualitative research approach was employed using individual semi-structured interviews for data collection. The population of interest were national research integrity promoters: national ombudspersons for research integrity (coded as OMB), representatives for research integrity/misconduct from research funding organizations (RFO) and representatives from national research integrity networks (RIN) in European countries.</p> <p>Purposive sampling method was used to select informants. To identify potential informants, we used website of European Network of Research Integrity Offices (<a href="http://www.enrio.eu/">http://www.enrio.eu/</a>) and official websites of target organizations; in addition, snowball method was used to identify potential informants who corresponded to sampling criteria but were not part of the ENRIO membership. At the first stage, 32 potential informants were identified; due to missing contact information or irrelevance of activities as defined in sampling criteria, only 21 informants were invited to participate in the research. Overall, 10 national research integrity promoters (7 females and 3 males; all hold PhD degree and were or currently are part of academia) consented to take part in the research: 5 national ombudspersons for research integrity, 3 representatives for research integrity/misconduct from research funding organizations and 2 representatives from national research integrity networks.</p> <p>Semi-structured questionnaire (interview guide) consisting of five key topics (self-identity, goals, impediments to meaning, enablers to meaning, rewards for meaning-making) and the closing section was used. Interviews were conducted remotely. The interview language was English.</p> <p>Each interview was audio-recorded, transcribed, and anonymized. Average length of interview was 53 minutes; average non-anonymized interview transcript contained 6851 words.</p> <p>Each transcript was validated by two researchers for data accuracy and clarification of inaudible responses; anonymization of each transcript was validated by two researchers and a respective informant. Due to uniqueness of the national status of informants, two informants asked to change their initial consent to disclose anonymized transcript (i.e., they agreed on the use of their interview transcripts for data analysis but not on granting open access to them).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The research is published as Tauginienė, L., Gaižauskaitė, I. <p>This dataset contains ground temperature timeseries (2014-2021) and cryostratigraphy data from two 20 m deep boreholes located at Villum Research Station (VRS), Station Nord, eastern North Greenland. The cryostratigraphy data includes split permafrost core photographs and values for the following parameters:&nbsp;gravimetric moisture content, salinity, and freezing point depression. A complete sample inventory and information on sample quality and recovery is also included. <p>This data set contains electricity systems and technology data for the UK, Poland, Texas, Wyoming, South Korea, and Indonesia. This data was used for modeling and analysis for the research article titled &#39;CCS investment &ndash; fiddling while the planet burns&#39;, authored by Yoga Wienda Pratama and Niall Mac Dowell from Imperial College London.</p> <p>In this work, we modeled and optimised the systems using Electricity Systems Optimisation framework (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.1048943)&nbsp;that was developed General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS). Generating FAIR Research Data in Experimental Tribology

Additionally, the broad interdisciplinarity of tribology is probably a main contributing factor for the lack of community-wide data and metadata standards, and the heavy reliance on custom workflows and equipment. This paper, first, outlines a sample framework for scalable generation of FAIR data, and second, delivers a showcase FAIR data package for a pin-on-disk tribological experiment. Research compendium for 'The contribution of integrated 3D model analysis to Protoaurignacian stone tool design'

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> Protoaurignacian foragers relied heavily on the production and use of bladelets. Techno-typological studies of these implements have provided insights into important aspects of cultural variability. However, new technologies have seldom been used to quantify patterns of stone tool design. Taking advantage of a new scanning protocol and open-source software, we conduct the first 3D analysis of a Protoaurignacian assemblage, focusing on the selection and modification of blades and bladelets. We study a large sample of complete blanks and retouched tools from the early Protoaurignacian assemblage at Fumane Cave in northeastern Italy. Our main goal is to validate and refine previous techno-typological considerations employing a 3D geometric morphometrics approach complemented by 2D analysis of cross-section outlines and computations of retouch angle. The encouraging results show the merits of the proposed integrated approach and confirm that bladelets were the main focus of stone knapping at the site. Among modified bladelets, various retouching techniques were applied to achieve specific shape objectives. We suggest that the variability observed among retouched bladelets relates to the design of multi-part artifacts that need to be further explored via renewed experimental and functional studies.</p> <p><strong>Overview of contents:</strong></p> <p>01.
