Monbulk Creek trestle bridge
A quick scan of this bridge.. not quite ready to tick it off my list from the Victorian Heritage Database. Apart from its heritage value it's also a popular tourist attraction for photographing the Puffing Billy steam train as it passes over the bridge. "The Rail Bridge (c. 1890), over Monbulk Creek, Selby is a curved, timber trestle bridge carrying a single narrow gauge track which spans the Monbulk Creek and the Belgrave Emerald Rd. A viewing bay has been constructed for tourists, off Belgrave-Emerald Rd. The bridge is 85 metres long, 12 metres high at its highest point and comprises 14 spans of 6 metres, curved to a radius of 20 metres. The bridge has a tight 3 chain curvature. It was constructed from local, native bush timbers. " (see: https://vhd.heritagecouncil.vic.gov.au/places/10371) Created in RealityCapture by Capturing Reality from 413 images in 01h:09m:07s. Struie Hill, Bonar Bridge
On a SSW-facing slope of Struie Hill, this prone slab is found uphill from the B9176 to Bonar Bridge at NH 65216 84964. The slab is mica schist and is 2m25 long by 1m42 wide. It presents with 22 cup-marks on the north-east side of the stone. 3D ground reaction force data of walking individuals crossing the vibration-prone experimental pedestrian bridge HUMVIB, Darmstadt, Germany
<p>This data set is obtained within the framework of the DFG research project HUMVIB (Project number 446124066) to investigate human-induced vibrations and human-structure interaction on pedestrian bridges. In total, a set of data from 26 subjects for different walking step frequencies was investigated. Each condition was performed on the vibration-prone HUMVIB Bridge at the Lichtwiese campus of the Technical University of Darmstadt with a vertical natural frequency of 2.02 Hz. Each condition was also performed for the system configuration with the optional center support and consequently much higher frequency of 7.72 Hz. Thereby, each condition was repeated for 10 crossings and with each run 5 single steps were recorded by portable Ground Reaction Force Plates (GRFPs). In this case, the sensor plan <a href="https://zenodo.org/api/records/14049724/draft/files/02_HUMVIB_Bridge_with_GRFP.pdf/content" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">02_HUMVIB_Bridge_with_GRFP.pdf</a> shows that FP1, FP2, FP4, FP5 and FP6 are hit when crossing a bridge. Therefore, under these walking conditions, FP3 only records the mass inertia due to the bridge acceleration or noisy zero signals as a reference.</p> <p>The measured 3D ground reaction forces have been time-synchronized and measured with a sampling rate of 1,000 Hz. Complementary sensors on the structural response (accelerometers, strain gauges, ...) as well as on the subjects themselves (EMG sensors and MoCap) are less relevant for the analysis of the GRFs and will be published as a supplement after the analysis is completed. However, since FP3 is not hidden by a step of the walking subjects, it can also serve as a structural response sensor and thus not only provide the mass inertia but also the structural acceleration of the bridge. The dataset is well suited for the analysis of GRFs as a function of the tuning or structural acceleration between excitation and natural frequencies of walking individuals on vibration-prone structures. Furthermore, based on the given personal characteristics (height, weight, gender, age), an estimation of the influence of the personal parameters is possible. Finally, based on the size of the sample, the inter- and intra-variability of the persons walking can be investigated for verticals but also horizontal GRFs in general.</p>

Bridge Model For Diorama
Been working on my japan style diorama this week, by ironing out the pipeline and having a go with a few different ways of doing things. The planks were exported from Maya and sculpted with Zbursh and exported to substance with normals from zbrush. This worked really well where the bridge it's self was sculpted in Mudbox and baked in marmoset, which worked really well and marmosets baking capabilities are amazing! I think I'm going to be working with the Zbrush pipeline from now as not having to bake in another software is really useful and I am trying to force myself to get into sculpting properly. I couldn't get the normals looking correct on sketchfab so this is just the diffuse and normals on the bridge but it's a good start anyway. This was also a test to see what hand painting was like! I've wanted to try out this style for years and I am really happy with how easy substance makes this technique! Wooden Rialto Bridge about 1500
A Minecraft reconstruction of the Rialto bridge in Venice in its previous incarnation made from wood, before the stone bridge we still know today was built from 1588 to 1591. Modeled by my sister Irina Busch, based on "Miracle of the Holy Cross at Rialto" by Vittore Carpaccio, c. 1496 and the "Map of Venice" print by Jacopo de Barbari, 1500. The scale is six Minecraft blocks for a metre. CC Attribution is to be done to my sister, as I am only the technical advisor if you will. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
