Incidence and survival of central nervous system tumors in childhood and adolescence in Girona (Spain) 1990-2013
Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors are the second most frequent neoplasm in children under 14 years and the third in the range of 15-19-year-old adolescents, but epidemiological data on these tumors have been sparsely reported in the medical literature. We have performed a retrospective population-based study to determine the incidence and survival of these primary CNS tumors in pediatrics and during adolescence in the population of Girona and compare them with series from Spain, Europe and worldwide.
