(PRE) Socio-economic and cultural dataset in relation to Persuasive Strategies to boost Energy Efficiency and in the UK, Spain, Greece and Austria

<p>The dataset has been created from obtaining answers from 303 participants of four different countries in the EU (the questionnaire can be studied in <strong>GreenSoul_Questionnaire.pdf</strong>). It is composed by several factors which are explained in different TXT files. All these factors are contained in a &quot;<strong>all_code_final_zenodo.xlsx</strong>&quot; along with their answers by participants. The equations were fitted per tree species and individual.&nbsp;</p> <p>Throughfall is a relevant eco-hydrological mechanism related to rainfall partitioning at the tree&#39;s canopy. Throughfall is basically the amount of rain passing through the canopy without being intercepted by the leaves or woody parts. Stemflow consists in the funnelling of rainfall around the tree stem, concentrating water and nutrients on its way to the root zone. Electricity demand data and solar generation data from Plymouth. UK

A common NFKB1 variant detected through antibody analysis in UK Biobank predicts risk of infection and allergy: Summary statistics - Health records

<p>Infectious agents contribute significantly to the global burden of diseases, through both acute infection and their chronic sequelae. We leveraged the UK Biobank to identify genetic loci that influence humoral immune response to multiple infections. From 45 genome-wide association studies in 9,611 participants from UK Biobank, we identified NFKB1 as a locus associated with quantitative antibody responses to multiple pathogens including those from the herpes, retro- and polyoma-virus families. An insertion-deletion variant thought to affect NFKB1 expression (rs28362491), was mapped as the likely causal variant. This variant has persisted throughout hominid evolution and could play a key role in regulation of the immune response. Using 121 infection and inflammation related traits in 487,297 UK Biobank participants, we show that the deletion allele was associated with an increased risk of infection from diverse pathogens but had a protective effect against allergic disease. We propose that altered expression of NFKB1, as a result of the deletion, modulates haematopoietic pathways, and likely impacts cell survival, antibody production, and inflammation. Taken together, we show that disruptions to the tightly regulated immune processes may tip the balance between exacerbated immune responses and allergy, or increased risk of infection and impaired resolution of inflammation.&nbsp;</p> <p>-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p> <p>This dataset contains GWAS summary statistics for infection, inflammation, and allergy related traits in&nbsp;487,297 individuals</p>

<p>This dataset of GPS tracking data for Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) forms the basis of the analysis carried out in Bowgen, K. M., Dodd, S. G., Lindley, P., Burton, N. H. K., &amp; Taylor, R. C. (2022). Curves for Curlew: Identifying Curlew breeding status from GPS tracking data.&nbsp;Ecology and Evolution, 12, e9509. https://doi.org/10.1002/ece3.9509.</p> <p>This paper details&nbsp;a new method to assign breeding status to individual birds during their full breeding season. All points are spatially anonymised but the analyses in the associated paper are replicable with this dataset as it only requires spatial and temporal&nbsp;relationships between the points rather than to a specific landscape.</p> <p>Data permissions are held jointly between BTO, National Resources Wales&nbsp;and Royal Society for the Protection of Birds as the funders and collaborators of the project. BTO Garden BirdWatch: Weekly butterfly abundance data for modelling trends in UK gardens

<p>Dataset used to estimate annual abundance indices and trends for UK butterflies in gardens, covering the period 2007 to 2020.</p> <p>Data have been collected as part of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) Garden BirdWatch (GBW) survey. GBW is a structured, citizen science monitoring programme whereby volunteers record weekly abundances of various bird, invertebrate, mammal, reptile&nbsp; and amphibian species in (predominantly suburban and rural) gardens.
