Replication Data for Lead-Free Semiconductors, Phase-Evolution and Superior Stability of Multinary Tin Chalcohalides
<p>Tin-based semiconductors are highly desirable materials for energy applications due to their low toxicity and biocompatibility relative to analogous lead-based semiconductors. In particular, tin-based<br>chalcohalides possess optoelectronic properties that are ideal for photovoltaic and photocatalytic applications. In addition, they are believed to benefit from increased stability compared with halide perovskites.<br>However, to fully realize their potential, it is first necessary to better understand and predict the synthesis and phase evolution of these complex materials. Here, we describe a versatile solution-phase method for the<br>preparation of the multinary tin chalcohalide semiconductors Sn2SbS2I3, Sn2BiS2I3, Sn2BiSI5, and Sn2SI2. We demonstrate how certain thiocyanate precursors are selective toward the synthesis of chalcohalides, thus<br>preventing the formation of binary and other lower order impurities rather than the preferred multinary compositions. Critically, we utilized 119Sn ssNMR spectroscopy to further assess the phase purity of these materials. Further, we validate that the tin chalcohalides exhibit excellent water stability under ambient conditions, as well as remarkable resistance to heat over time compared to halide perovskites. Together, this work enables the isolation of lead-free, stable, direct band gap chalcohalide compositions that will help engineer more stable and biocompatible semiconductors and devices.</p>

Simulation of the Long-Term Evolution of a Meandering River
<p>This dataset contains three files which accompany the simulations (in MATLAB) associated with the publication of my dissertation. The first is a small input file which sets the initial planform of the channel of a meandering river. The second and third files are the resulting evolution through time, saved at 30 year time intervals but offset so that the actual temporal sequence is the first element from one file, then the first element from the other file then the second element from each file.</p> <p>These output files can serve as a check for other simulations, or save the simulation time required to generate them.</p> <p>See the accompanying dissertation document (to be referenced once the official reference is available) and the GitHub repository which includes the code required.</p> <p>The core 'engine' of this simulation was originally published as dowloadable code files in the supplementary online materials associated with this paper:</p> <p>Schwenk, J., Lanzoni, S., & Foufoula‐Georgiou, E. Evolution of Indian Ocean Paleoceanography and South-East Asian Climate during the Miocene in response to change in regional topography
<p>This directory contain outputs of 9 paleo-climate simulations performed with the IPSL-CM5A2 and PISCES-v2 models. The simulations have used in a paper to be published in Nature Geoscience (2022) entitled "Divergent South Asian Monsoon Rainfall and Wind Histories due to topography effects" (Sarr et al.) that investigates the co-evolution of Arabian Sea upwelling and South Asian Monsoon rainfall and winds over the Miocene. It includes simulations with both early Miocene and late Miocene paleogeography.</p> <p>SimulationsOutputs.tar directory contains NetCDF files with ocean, ocean biogeochemistry and atmosphere variables. Data are monthly average over the last 100 years of each simulation.</p> <p>TopoMiocene.tar contains the paleogeographies used for the simulations.</p> <p> More informations on output contents can be find in README_detailsOutput.md document as well as within the Methods section of the publication.</p> <p>PISCES_update.tar contains updated routines for the PISCES-offline model (Aumont et al., 2015) that have been used for the publication. It contains a REAME.md file that explain how to include those updates within the reference code.</p> <p> </p>
Galactic chemical evolution of the solar neighborhood, solar twins and exoplanet indicators
<p>Galactic chemical evolution (GCE), solar analogues or twins, and peculiarities of<br> the solar composition with respect to the twins are inextricably related.<br> We examine GCE parameters from the literature and present newly derived values<br> using a quadratic fit that gives zero for a Solar age (i.e. 4.6 Gyr). <br> We show how the GCE parameters may be used not only to ``correct'' abundances<br> to the solar age, but to predict {\bf average} relative elemental <br> abundances as a function of age. <br> We address the question of whether the solar abundances<br> are depleted in refractories and enhanced in volatiles and<br> find that the answer is sensitive to the selection of a<br> representative standard. Our best quality data sets do<br> not support the notion that the Sun is depleted in refractories. <br> A simple model allows us to estimate<br> the amount of refractory-rich material missing from the sun<br> or alternately added to the average solar twin. The model<br> gives between zero and 1.4 earth masses. <br> </p>

A chromosome-level genome resource for studying virulence mechanisms and evolution of the coffee rust pathogen Hemileia vastatrix
<p>Recurrent epidemics of coffee leaf rust, caused by the fungal pathogen <em>Hemileia vastatrix,</em> have constrained the sustainable production of Arabica coffee for over 150 years. The ability of <em>H. vastatrix </em>to overcome resistance in coffee cultivars and evolve new races is inexplicable for a pathogen that supposedly only utilizes clonal reproduction. Understanding the evolutionary complexity between <em>H. vastatrix</em> and its only known host, including determining how the pathogen evolves virulence so rapidly is crucial for disease management. Achieving such goals relies on the availability of a comprehensive and high-quality genome reference assembly. To date, two reference genomes have been assembled and published for <em>H. vastatrix</em> that, while useful, remain fragmented and do not represent chromosomal scaffolds. Here, we present a complete scaffolded pseudochromosome-level genome resource for <em>H. vastatrix </em>strain 178a (Hv178a). Our initial assembly revealed an unusually high degree of gene duplication (over 50% BUSCO basidiomycota_odb10 genes). Upon inspection, this was predominantly due to a single scaffold that itself showed 91.9% BUSCO Completeness. Taxonomic analysis of predicted BUSCO genes placed this scaffold in Exobasidiomycetes and suggests it is a distinct genome, which we have named Hv178a associated fungal genome (Hv178a AFG). The high depth of coverage and close association with Hv178a raises the prospect of symbiosis, although we cannot completely rule out contamination at this time. The main Ca. 546 Mbp Hv178a genome was primarily (97.7%) localised to 11 pseudochromosomes (51.5 Mb N50), building the foundation for future advanced studies of genome structure and organization. NLO QCD Track Evolution Kernels for Fourier and Wavelet Methods
<p>Two datasets of LO and NLO evolution numerical kernels for track functions, one for the Fourier series method and the other for the Legendre wavelet method. We also include the corresponding Julia code to numerically solve the track evolution equation based on these kernels. These datasets are used to build docker images for <a href="https://hub.docker.com/r/haochern/qcd-track-evolution-fourier">Fourier</a> and <a href="https://hub.docker.com/r/haochern/qcd-track-evolution-wavelet">wavelet</a> approaches. <p>Data and Python scripts affiliated with the publication "Evolution of Flare Activity in GKM Stars Younger than 300 Myr over Five Years of TESS Observations" in the American Astronomical Journals. The manuscript pre-print can be found on <a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2405.00850">arXiv</a>.</p> <p>This repository contains all of the data used to complete the analysis of the aforementioned manuscript, along with the Python scripts used to create all of the figures in the manuscript. Many of the data products from this manuscript are saved as CSVs, with appropriate column names and units, when applicable.</p> <p>Additionally, we include the light curves for all targets in this sample, along with the 'probability light curves,' which were used to identify flares in the TESS data. These data products can be found in the zip file 'TESS_stella_outputs.zip'. The rest of the data product is structured as it is on the <a href="https://github.com/afeinstein20/young-stellar-flares/tree/paper">associated GitHub repository</a>.</p>

The evolution of gender monitoring and its challenges in Research and Innovation in Europe: She Figures reports analysis dataset
<p><span>The article delves into the European Commission's flagship initiative on gender monitoring in science and innovation, offering a responsible metrics perspective and drawing on equality policy literature. Over two decades, the initiative has evolved from competitiveness-related justifications to more transformative objectives related to equality policy evaluation, with the measurement areas and policy focus also undergoing changes. While there has been notable progress, the article points out a logic of invisibility in how dimensions and indicators are conceptualised and their data sources and interpretation. However, it also highlights a significant improvement in the information available. The article suggests that the contextualisation of the process could be enhanced to better integrate it into the policy-making cycle, a crucial area for further research. It concludes with proposals for future gender monitoring science and innovation. The aim is to offer an encouraging vision of monitoring that counts more on who is monitored and in opening up the debates instead of closing them.</span></p>
