Lesingey Round: point cloud
Lesingey Round is a hillfort near Penzance in Cornwall, and likely dates to the Iron Age. The monument consists of a roughly circular enclosure surrounded by ramparts with a ditch on the outside. From the partially buried ditch, the ramparts stand over 4.5m high in places. In other areas the ramparts have been damaged. The site sits atop a prominent hill with panoramic views, and is covered by a 'crown' of trees that cover the site. In this model the individual survey measurements points are visible, allowing a 'transparent' view of the monument, and to understand the tree and vegetation cover. This 3D survey was undertaken by the [Curatorial Research Centre](https://curatorialresearch.com) on behalf of Penwith Landscape Partnership (PLP). Point Cloud - Castillo de Salvatierra
This is a point cloud of the Salvatierra Castle, located in the municipality of Calzada de Calatrava (Ciudad Real, Spain). The data were collected with three FAROFocus3D laser scanners in March 2017. The castle is of the period of greatest historical prominence between the battles of Alarcos (1195) and Las Navas de Tolosa (1212). Between 1198 and 1211 the Order of Calatrava installed its convent headquarters in this fortress and was consolidated as the Order of Salvatierra. In 1226 it was definitely abandoned when its last Muslim defenders handed it over to Christians in the context of Las Navas pacts. Despite its advanced state of ruin, it still retains part of the donjon, numerous barrel vaults and large walled spaces that acted as albacar and barbican. Hard Point Cloud Localization Dataset
<p>This is a dataset to evaluate the robustness of point-cloud-based localization algorithms in extremely severe situations including aggressive sensor motion, point cloud degeneration, and data interruptions.</p><p>The dataset contains five indoor sequences recorded with a Microsoft Azure Kinect and three outdoor sequences recorded with a Livox MID360. Mleiha 3 – Umm an-Nar Tomb "Close to the Mleiha Archaeological Centre lies the Umm an-Nar tomb, which is considered to be the most impressive grave building among the many ancient funeral sites in the Mleiha area. Constructed around 2300 BCE, the burial site was used for approximately 200 years. Measuring in at a huge 13.85m in diameter, this circular Bronze Age grave is one of the largest from the Umm an-Nar period throughout the whole of the UAE. The grave chamber is separated into an eastern and western half, each then further sub-divided into four units with doorways connecting one chamber to another. Sceilig Mhichíl - Sampled Point Cloud (2.5D)
Sceilig Mhichíl is an island west of the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. The island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is best known for its well-preserved, medieval Gaelic monastery. The island is also known as the [filming site](https://youtu.be/g_0lk8BY0Vk) of Star Wars Episode VII "The Force Awakens". The topographical dataset of Sceilig Mhichíl is produced by the Geological Survey Ireland (GSI) and is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. Scottish Boatbuilding School: point cloud(II)
The Scottish Boatbuilding School at the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine was established in 2014 to provide education and qualification in both traditional and modern boat building, as well as vessel conservation and restoration. This point cloud generated from photogrammetry as a part of 'Scanning the Horizon' project, provides a unique glimpse into the school's boatbuilding workshop, which is not accessible for the public. This particular model shows the two skiffs as they are being constructed: a result of a very quick data capture! Torre de Aragón, Spain (Point Cloud)
The so-called Torre de Aragón is a medieval fortress that is part of a much larger defensive complex located in Molina de Aragón (Guadalajara, Spain). The tower is located in the highest part of the area, dominating the valley generated by the Gallo river. Its strategic position meant that the tower was still considered useful in the 19th century, so it was rebuilt for military purposes. The Torre de Aragón is integrated into the defensive system of the medieval city of Molina de Aragón, one of the most extensive military complexes of the Middle Ages preserved in Spain today. The city of Molina de Aragón had a strategic character during the Middle Ages as it was located on the border of the Kingdoms of Castilla and Aragón. The Aragon tower was built on the remains of a previous Islamic fortress. It is pentagonal in shape to increase its resistance to impact from artillery, especially from catapults. MV Spartan (Point Cloud)
*MV Spartan* was built in 1942 and is one of only two surviving Scottish-built 'puffers': a type of steam-powered cargo vessel first built during the 1850s for use on the Clyde and Forth Canal. Now Spartan is on the Designated List of the National Historic Ships Committee and it was the first vessel in the museum's collection when it was established in 1983. *MV Spartan* is one of the most important objects in the Scottish Maritime Museum's collection. It sits just outside the Linthouse building, where most of our collection is housed. The vessel is not availabe to visit for the public, but we have a [virtual tour available online](https://www.scottishmaritimemuseum.org/virtualtours/) if you fancy a walk up the deck and inside!
