Material from a collaborative analysis with young people. Insights into the analysis process of R&I Action #2 Youth Employment of the CoAct project

<p>The collaborative data analysis presented in this document was undertaken in the context of the research project CoAct (Co-designing Citizen Social Science for Collective Action) as part of the R&amp;I Action #2 on Youth Employment. In this R&amp;I Action, using Citizen Social Science as a research approach, young people aged between 15 and 21 years in employment measures in Vienna/Austria participated in collaborative social research activities. The visualisation of data analysis in the form of posters, is a selection of the collaborative analysis of qualitative expert interviews using the the &ldquo;Stop and Go&rdquo; (Harrasser, 2017) method. Following this method, audio recording of interviews, done by the young co-researchers themselves, are listened to and summarized as well as connected to the co-researchers&rsquo; own experience.</p> <p>The Creative Commons license and a recommendation regarding the citation of the material are provided in the document.</p> <p>For more information&nbsp;please contact veronika.woehrer@univie.ac.at</p>

Analysis of symptoms and quality of life of people with prolonged diagnosis of COVID-19, and the efficacy of an intervention in primary care using ICT

<p>This is a ranzomized clinical study called: &ldquo;Analysis of symptoms and quality of life of people with prolonged diagnosis of COVID-19, and the efficacy of an intervention in primary care using ICT&rdquo;, approved in mid-2020, with reference number ISRCTN91104012. The main objetive is to analyse the overall effectiveness and cost-efficiency of a mobile application (APP) as a community health asset (HA) with recommendations and recovery exercises created bearing in mind the main symptoms presented by Long COVID patients in order to improve their quality of life, as well as other secondary variables, such as the number and severity of ongoing symptoms, physical and cognitive functions, affective state, and sleep quality. The first step was to design and develop the technologic community resource, the APP, following the steps involved in the process of recommending health assets (RHA). After this, a protocol of a randomised clinical trial for analysing its effectiveness and cost-efficiency as a HA was developed. The participants will be assigned to: (1st) usual treatment by the primary care practitioner (TAU), as a control group; and (2nd) TAU + use of the APP as a HA and adjuvant treatment in their recovery + three motivational interviews (MI), as an interventional group. An evaluation will be carried out at baseline with further assessments three and six months following the end of the intervention.&nbsp;</p>

A New Dataset of People Flow in an Industrial Site with UWB and Motion Capture Systems

<p>Improving performance and safety conditions at industrial sites remain key elements of the Group&#39;s strategy. Major issues require the ability to dynamically locate people and assets on the site. Currently, the security and regulation of access to areas with different characteristics (types of tasks, level of risk, or confidentiality...) are often carried out with badge doors or barriers. These means present several weaknesses in the face of inappropriate movements of people, but also of objects or tools. Also, there is increasing use of technological devices requiring precise localization in the industrial environment such as AGVs (mobile robots or drones) or augmented reality devices. It is therefore becoming essential to have tools to dynamically manage these flows of people or goods associated with precise location technologies. An Ultra-Wide-Band solution will be employed to quickly and efficiently identify persons who may find themselves in unauthorized areas or perform tasks for which they are uninstructed. Besides dynamic people tracking, this solution can overcome problems of moving objects and tools in production workshops. Burden and resources in caregivers of people with multiple sclerosis: a qualitative study

<p><strong><em>Background: </em></strong><em>Caregivers of people with Multiple Sclerosis are required to provide ongoing assistance especially during the advanced stages of the disease. They have to manage interventions and assume responsibilities which significantly impact both their personal quality </em>of life and family&rsquo;s dynamics.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><em>Objective: </em></strong><em>A qualitative phenomenological study was carried out to understand the experience of burden in caregivers and their resources to manage it. The study also explores how healthcare services involved in the Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Pathway respond to the needs of well-being of patients and family members.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Methods: </em></strong><em>17 caregivers were involved in focus groups and in semi-structured individual interviews.</em></p> <p><strong><em>Results: </em></strong><em>Fatigue is experienced by all respondents and it starts when physical disabilities increase or when people become aware of them. Many caregivers declare that they refer to intrinsic (love towards their relatives, patience and dedication) or extrinsic (family members,&nbsp; hobbies) resources to cope with the burden of assistance. Patient associations and the Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Pathway play a significant role in supporting caregivers. </em></p> <p><strong><em>Conclusions:</em></strong></p> <p><em>Fatigue, loneliness, and isolation are experienced by caregivers and strongly affect their quality of life and health status. The study highlights caregivers&rsquo; need to reconcile working times with care times, to give more space to self-care and to have moments to share their experiences with someone else. These needs should be at the core of health policies in order to avoid physical and emotional breakdowns which could lead to the rupture of the relational balance on which home care is based. </em></p>

Intensive training programme improves handwriting in a community cohort of people with Parkinson's disease

<p><strong>Background</strong>: People with Parkinson&rsquo;s disease (PwP) often report problems with their handwriting before they receive a formal diagnosis. Multiple aspects of the handwriting samples were assessed, including writing fluency, transitions between letters, regularity in letter size, word spacing, and straightness of lines.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Results</strong>: Analysis of inter-rater reliability showed high agreement for total handwriting scores, letter size, as well as speed and legibility scores, whereas there were mixed levels of inter-rater reliability for other handwriting measures. Overall handwriting quality (p=0.001) and legibility (p=0.009) significantly improved, while letter size (p=0.012), fluency (p=0.001), regularity of letter size (p=0.009) and straightness of lines (p=0.036) were also enhanced.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Conclusions</strong>: The results of this study show that this 6-week intensive remotely-monitored Physiotherapy-led handwriting programme, improved handwriting in PwP.
