Dataset with square plots across Sierra Nevada (Spain) where the contours of all juniper shrubs were annotated as polygons using centimetric GPS and very high resolution aerial and satellite RGB images

<p><strong>This dataset is a shapefile of 767 polygons describing the contours of Juniperus communis L. and Juniperus sabina L. shrubs for the year 2021 in rectangular plots across Sierra Nevada. The coordinates of the polygons were obtained from a field work campaign with a differential centimetric GPS, and their contours were drawn manually in QGIS using the Google Earth satellite image for 2020 and the PNOA aerial image for the 2020.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>This dataset also contains an excel file describing the features of each polygon: the polygon centroid coordinates, the type of species, the sexgender, the morphotype, the damage in the vegetation cover estimated in the field and telematically, certainty of&nbsp;the digitalization with QGIS and also if the differential centimetric GPS used belongs to the University of Granada or the University of Almeria. </strong></p>

<p><strong>SimuShips - A High Resolution Simulation Dataset for Ship Detection with Precise Annotations</strong></p> <p>Availability of domain-specific datasets is a challenge for object detection. In particular, conducting onsite experiments is risky and time-consuming for the maritime domain. It is not always possible&nbsp;to capture challenging situations and incorporate variations in the environment. Therefore, we present&nbsp;a simulation-based dataset for maritime environments consisting of 9471 high-resolution (1920x1080) images resembling the real world with precise annotations.</p> <p>The dataset was acquired using a simulation tool, AILiveSim [17]. AILiveSim is a 3D simulation platform for targeted scalable development and integration of autonomous systems through digital twins. The tool provides a realistic 3D model of the route of the watercraft extended from the city of Turku to Ruisalo in South-West Finland.</p> <p>Our dataset incorporates diversity of objects, weather, illumination, visible proportion and scale in images that resemble the real world.&nbsp;</p> <p>Please cite the following publication when using the dataset:</p> <p>M. A high spatial resolution dataset for anthropogenic atmospheric mercury emissions in China during 1998-2014

<p>This database contains gridded atmospheric mercury emissions in 30 provinces of China by sectors from 1998 to 2014 at the resolution of 1 km&times;1 km. We distribute atmospheric mercury emissions in four sectors, i.e., agriculture, industry, service industry, and residences, based on China&#39;s land use data, enterprise data, road data, and population data. Gridded estimates of the total Hg (THg) and the three species, i.e., gaseous elemental Hg (Hg<sub>0</sub>), gaseous oxidized mercury (Hg<sub>II</sub>), and particulate-bound mercury (Hg<sub>p</sub>), are given separately.</p>

Data from: First assessments of trace metal fluxes from the Pacific to the Arctic - high resolution 2021 summer measurements show surprisingly high influence of the Alaskan Coastal Water

<p>Trace metals (manganese, iron, nickel, copper, zinc, and cadmium) are essential micronutrients for phytoplankton and can be used as tracers of oceanic processes. The supply of trace metals to the Western Arctic was thought to be dominated by macronutrient-rich Pacific waters entering through the Bering Strait and modified by uptake and regeneration on the Chukchi Shelf. However, the first high resolution (~6km) trace metal measurements in the strait (July 2021) show large variability in trace metal concentrations across the strait and a close relationship with salinity. The previously unsampled Alaskan Coastal Water has unexpectedly high trace metal concentrations, while the macronutrient-rich Anadyr Water has surprisingly low trace metal concentrations. We make the first estimates of trace metal flux from the Pacific to the Arctic through the Bering Strait and find they are elevated despite the comparatively small volume transport and, for some metals, exceed the Arctic to Atlantic export.</p>

HAMSTER: Hyperspectral Albedo Maps dataset with high Spatial and TEmporal Resolution

<p>This dataset contains 365 hyperspectral albedo maps of Earth with a temporal resolution of 1 day. The hyperspectral albedo maps are built from a 10-year average of the MODIS Surface Reflectance dataset (MCD43D42-48, version 6.1). Using a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) regression algorithm we combine different hyperspectral laboratory and in-situ measurements datasets of various dry soils, vegetation surfaces and mixure of both to reconstruct the albedo maps in the entire wavelength range from 400 to 2500 nm. The hyperspectral albedo maps have a spatial resolution of 0.25&deg; in latitude and longitude.</p> <p>Additional hyperspectral albedo maps with a coarser spatial and spectral resolutions are available in the "Data sets" supplemetary material of "HAMSTER: Hyperspectral Albedo Maps dataset with high Spatial and TEmporal Resolution" (Roccetti et al., 2024, https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2024-167) or upon request to the corresponding author.</p>
