Angle Dependent Spectral Reflectance Material Dataset based on 945 nm Time-of-Flight Camera Measurements

<p>The dataset contains angle dependent spectral reflectance measurements of materials in the infrared spectrum at a wavelength of 945 nm taken by a time-of-flight camera for an angle range of 0&deg; to 80&deg; in incremental steps of 10&deg;,&nbsp;mounted on an adjustable angle measurement device.</p> <p>Each data file is structured in columns with two parameters: reflectance (%)&nbsp;and incidence angle (&deg;).</p> <p>For each single material measurement a description file is attached in a&nbsp;separate ZIP-file.</p> <p>The extended dataset include new materials such as vehicle varnish and moss rubber. This new version further includes pictures for almost each of the measurements to depict the measurement setup and environmental conditions during the data acquisition. They are provided in a separate ZIP-file.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Note:&nbsp;</strong>Please always use the latest version!</p>

This is the footage captured by the videocamera placed at Studio Acusticum, Pite&aring;, Sweden.</p> <p>Interwoven Sound Spaces is an interdisciplinary project which brought bringing together telematic music performance, interactive textiles, interaction design, and artistic research. A team of researchers collaborated with two professional contemporary music ensembles based in Berlin, Germany, and Pite&aring;, Sweden, and four composers, with the aim of creating a telematic distributed concert taking place simultaneously in two concert halls and online. Central to the project was the development of interactive textiles capable of sensing the musicians&rsquo; movements while playing acoustic instruments, and generating data the composers used in their works. Musicians, instruments, textiles, sounds, halls, and data formed a network of entities and agencies that was is reconfigured for each piece, showing how networked music practice enables distinctive musicking techniques.&nbsp;</p>

Data from: Using camera traps to estimate habitat preferences and occupancy patterns of vertebrates in boreal wetlands

<p><span>Wetlands are a critical habitat for boreal mammals and birds that rely on them for breeding, foraging, and resting. However, wetlands in boreal regions are increasingly experiencing natural and human pressures. These impacts can lead to a reduction in the availability of wetland habitats </span><span>for boreal mammals and birds that rely on wetlands for breeding, foraging, and resting. To inform management and conservation, camera traps provide an opportunity to survey mammals and birds to investigate their habitat preferences. We aimed to evaluate the effect of habitat features on the occupancy of mammals and birds in boreal wetlands. We used a multispecies occupancy model to estimate the habitat associations of 11 mammals and 45 avian species detected at 50 sampling ponds </span><span>during the summers of 2018 and 2019 </span><span>in Northern Quebec. Our results indicate that certain mammals, such as Red Fox and River Otters, and birds including </span>the American Pipit, Common Raven, Hooded Merganser, and Greater Yellowlegs <span>showed a preference for peatland ponds, whereas the </span>Common Grackle preferred <span>beaver ponds. We found few effects of distance to roads, and no effect of amount of forest cover on species occupancy. The occupancy of 27% of mammals and 24% of birds decreased with increasing latitude. These findings offer valuable insights for informing conservation initiatives focused on the preservation of wetlands in northern Quebec. By discerning the specific types of ponds preferred by each species, conservationists can strategically ensure the preservation and proper management of these habitats, thereby enhancing their conservation efforts.</span></p>

From cameras to confocal to cytometry: measuring tumbling rates is a general way to reveal protein binding - Raw Data

<p>Molecular interactions are central to understanding any biological system, but they are labor-intensive to measure with existing optical approaches. Tracking "tumbling" (rotational diffusion) is a generalizable strategy for determining particle size, from which the presence and size of binding partners in a complex can be inferred. However, fluorescence-based tumbling measurements have historically been limited to small targets (&lt;30 kDa) due to the short (nanosecond) lifetime of typical fluorophores. This size limit leaves most of the proteome inaccessible, severely limiting the usefulness of the approach. To reveal larger complexes and realize the full potential of optical tumbling measurements, several groups have explored longer-lived states, such as <a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/S0006-3495(88)83137-0">photobleached molecules</a>, <a href="https://doi.org/10.1038/s41587-022-01489-7">reversibly photoswitched proteins</a>, or <a href="https://doi.org/10.1021/acs.jpcb.3c01236">triggerable triplets</a>. Here, we describe four combinations of photophysics and hardware for measuring tumbling with longer-lived states, gearing each toward a candidate biological use case. We explore these four measurement schemes with simulations and, in one case, experimentally validate the approach. Our work suggests that, with minor reconfiguring, most fluorescence approaches to detect the presence of proteins could also reveal their binding state.</p><p>This repository holds the raw data for the main text figures.
