FIGURE 2 in Names validly published in Kalanchoe (Crassulaceae subfam. Kalanchooideae) by Louis-René 'Edmond' Tulasne in 1857, with reference to names proposed in sched. by Hilsenberg and Bojer for two Malagasy species, and with notes on the type of the name K. tubiflora
FIGURE 2. Kalanchoe tubiflora. The type specimen of the name K. tubiflora was collected in Mozambique or, possibly, in Madagascar, by either William Fitz William Owen or by John Forbes (see main text for a discussion). A. Plants in the vegetative growing phase. B. Partial inflorescences developing late in the (winter) flowering season. The species is known to have invasive tendencies and easily becomes established in places well away from its natural geographical distribution range in southern Madagascar (see Shtein et al. 2021: 250, Fig. 9). Photographs: Gideon F. Smith.

FIGURE 11. Piper morelianum. A. Sympodial branch; showing adaxial and abaxial leaf surfaces and spikes. B. Infructescence with redwine colored peduncle. Photos by W. Trujillo from W. Trujillo 1086 (COAH).
FIGURE 6. Piper laperdizense. A. Lianescent habit. B. Sympodial branch, abaxial leaf surfaces. C in Over- and under-described: new species, new synonyms, and a new name in the megadiverse genus Piper (Piperaceae) on the east Andean slopes
FIGURE 6. Piper laperdizense. A. Lianescent habit. B. Sympodial branch, abaxial leaf surfaces. C. Adventitious root at nodes. D. Leaf base and prophyll. Photos of the type specimen by William Trujillo based on W. Trujillo & F. Hoyos 4449 (COL).
FIGURE 1 in Over- and under-described: new species, new synonyms, and a new name in the megadiverse genus Piper (Piperaceae) on the east Andean slopes
FIGURE 1. Phylogenetic relationships of the species Piper oteguanum, P. rubrifolium, P. laperdizense, P. calanyanum and P. morelianum based on Maximum Likelihood analysis of nrITS sequences. Names with taxonomic novelties are shown in bold. Names of clades follow Jaramillo et al. (2008), and Callejas-Posada (2020). Numbers above branches are ML bootstrap support values (>80).
FIGURE 9. Piper rubrifolium. A. Sympodial branch with a spike near the apex. B. Fruit lateral view. C in Over- and under-described: new species, new synonyms, and a new name in the megadiverse genus Piper (Piperaceae) on the east Andean slopes
FIGURE 9. Piper rubrifolium. A. Sympodial branch with a spike near the apex. B. Fruit lateral view. C. Detail of the infructescence. D. Floral bract from above. E. Floral diagram. Illustration by Marcela Morales based on the type specimen, W. Trujillo et al. 3139 (COAH).
