NACP Greenhouse Gases Multi-Source Data Compilation, 2000-2009

This data set is a collection of measurements of carbon dioxide (CO2) and non-CO2 greenhouse gases made across North America by nine independent atmospheric monitoring networks from 2000 - 2009. During this North American Carbon Program (NACP) sponsored activity, data were compiled from the following networks: AGAGE, COBRA, CSIRO, INTEX-A, INTEX B, Irvine Latitude Network, NOAA CMDL, SCRIPPS, and Stanley Tyler-UC Irvine. The files presented here are the products of merging multiple original measurement results files for selected sites across North America from each monitoring network. The primary focus of this effort was the compilation of non-CO2 greenhouse gases over North America, but numerous CO2 observations are also included. The data files for each network are accompanied by detailed readme documentation files prepared by the respective network investigators. Project descriptions, objectives, references, sampling and analysis methods, and data file descriptions are included in these READMEs. Table 1 in the documentation displays the monitoring network sites, sample types, analytes, and links to the detailed network README files. Network- and laboratory-specific data citations are included in the README documentation and should be used to acknowledge the use of these data as appropriate. The data files for each monitoring network and each sampling type (continuous or flasks) have been combined into one compressed (*.zip) file along with the detailed README document. There are 17 compressed files that when expanded contain data files which represent one year�s data for that specific campaign and sampling method. The number of annual files that were compiled from a network into this collection varies.

Input parameters, output data, and script to calculate strain and velocity from fault source parameters

<p>This archive contains two data tables, one script, and one dataset to accompany the paper:</p> <p><strong>Strain and velocity across the Great Basin derived from 15-ka fault slip rates: Implications for continuous deformation and seismic hazard in the Walker Lane</strong></p> <p><em>Nadine G. Reitman<sup>1 </sup>&nbsp;and Peter Molnar<sup>1,2</sup></em></p> <p><sup>1</sup>Department of Geological Sciences, University of Colorado Boulder</p> <p><sup>2</sup>Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES), University of Colorado Boulder</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The data tables contain the input source fault parameters (fault strike, dip, rake, length, location, and slip rate) and the contribution to strain calculated for each fault relative to 317 degrees using the associated script. The script uses the methods of Kostrov (1974) and Haines (1982) to calculate strain and velocity across the Great Basin using slip rates reported in the USGS National Seismic Hazard Map (2020 update of the 2014 data, Petersen et al, 2014) and P&eacute;rouse &amp; Wernicke (2017). The script is written in Python3 and requires the user to have some knowledge of how to run Python code. The included dataset (hazfaults_clean.p) contains the data to run the script for the USGS fault sources.&nbsp;</p> <p>Please contact nadine.reitman@colorado.edu with questions.</p>

Source Data of "Coherent control of individual electron spins in a 2D quantum dot array"

<p>Coherent manipulation of&nbsp;individual quantum objects organized in arrays is a prerequisite to any scalable quantum information platform.<br> The cumulated efforts to control electron spins in quantum&nbsp;dot arrays have permitted the recent realization of quantum simulators and multi-electron spin coherent manipulations.<br> While being a natural path to resolve complex quantum matter problems and to process quantum information, the two-dimensional (2D) scaling with high connectivity of such implementations remains undemonstrated.<br> Here, we demonstrate the 2D&nbsp;coherent control of individual electron spins in a 3x3&nbsp;array of tunnel coupled quantum dots.<br> We focus on several key quantum functionalities: charge deterministic loading and displacement, local spin readout, and local coherent exchange manipulation between two electron spins trapped in adjacent dots.<br> This work lays some of the foundations for exploiting a 2D&nbsp;array of electron spins for quantum simulation and information processing.</p>

Data from: The effect of funding sources on donepezil randomised controlled trial outcome: a meta-analysis

Objective: To investigate whether there is a difference in the treatment effect of donepezil on cognition in Alzheimer disease between industry-funded and independent randomised controlled trials. Design: Fixed effects meta-analysis of standardised effects of donepezil on cognition as measured by the Mini Mental State Examination and the Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale-cognitive subscale. Data sources: Studies included in the meta-analyses reported in the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) technical appraisal 217 updated with new studies through a PubMed search. Eligibility criteria: Inclusion criteria were double-blind, placebo-controlled trials of any length comparing patients diagnosed with probable Alzheimer disease (according to the NINCDS-ADRDA/DSM-III/IV criteria) taking any dosage of donepezil. Studies of combination therapies (eg, donepezil and memantine) were excluded, as were studies that enrolled patients with a diagnosis of Alzheimer disease associated with other disorders (eg, Parkinson's disease and Down's syndrome). Results: Our search strategy identified 14 relevant trials (4 independent) with suitable data. Trials sponsored by pharmaceutical companies reported a larger effect of donepezil on standardised cognitive tests than trials published by independent research groups (standardised mean difference (SMD)=0.46, 95% CI 0.37 to 0.55 vs SMD=0.33, 95% CI 0.18 to 0.48, respectively). This difference remained when only data representing change up to 12 weeks from baseline were analysed (industry SMD=0.44, 95% CI 0.34 to 0.53 vs independent SMD=0.35, 95% CI 0.18 to 0.52). Analysis revealed that the effect of funding as a moderator variable of study heterogeneity was not statistically significant at either time point. Conclusions: The effect size of donepezil on cognition is larger in industry-funded than independent trials and this is not explained by the longer duration of industry-funded trials. The lack of a statistically significant moderator effect may indicate that the differences are due to chance, but may also result from lack of power.
