PECUNIA PROM-MH Compendium

<p>The PECUNIA Patient-Reported-Outcome-Measure-Mental Health Compendium (<strong>PECUNIA PROM-MH Compendium</strong>) is a Microsoft Excel&copy;-based electronic library of non-disease specific PROMs used in MH research. The PECUNIA PROM-MH Compendium provides&nbsp;<strong>meta-data information of existing, publicly available generic PROMs</strong>&nbsp;suitable for use in&nbsp;<strong>(mental) health research</strong>&nbsp;and their applicability in&nbsp;<strong>multi-sectoral, multi-national and multi-person (economic) evaluations</strong>. It was developed by the Department of Health Economics, Center for Public Health, Medical University of Vienna as part of the Horizon 2020 research project PECUNIA (ProgrammE in Costing, resource use measurement and outcome valuation for Use in multi-sectoral National and International health economic evaluAtions - GA No 779292). In terms of outcome assessment, the project aimed for harmonization in multi-national, multi-sectoral and (where relevant) multi-person economic evaluations by addressing cross-country variations in utility measurement and harmonising methods for broader wellbeing measurement among others.</p> <p>The&nbsp;<strong>methodology</strong>&nbsp;of deriving PROMs and their meta-data included in the PROM-MH Compendium library followed a two-step process. Firstly, a&nbsp;<strong>systematic literature review</strong>&nbsp;was conducted in five bibliographic databases from 2008 until February 2020 to identify relevant&nbsp;<strong>non- disease specific PROMs used in mental health research</strong>&nbsp;for the measurement of quality of life/well-being, or recovery. Secondly,&nbsp;<strong>secondary searches</strong>&nbsp;in PubMed and Google were conducted to acquire most up-to-date PROM meta-data information. Meta-data information was searched in scientific articles, instrument manuals, and web-based sources (e.g. questionnaire websites).</p> <p>The PECUNIA PROM-MH Compendium Version 1.0 consists of&nbsp;<strong>204 unique instruments (PROMs)</strong>&nbsp;alongside their comprehensive meta-data and is browseable according to main PROM characteristics. Information about each instrument is organised in five sections:</p> <ol> <li><strong>BASIC CHARACTERISTICS</strong>&nbsp;(information on the year of publication, country (language) of origin, number of items, administration mode, other language versions, etc.);</li> <li><strong>SCORING</strong>&nbsp;(information on the level-sum scoring, standardised scoring, weighted preference-based scoring, availability of preference-based value sets, availability of mapping studies, etc.);</li> <li><strong>VALIDATION IN THE MENTAL HEALTH FIELD</strong>&nbsp;(information about validation studies for different mental disorders);</li> <li><strong>APPLICATION IN MULTI-SECTORAL, MULTI-NATIONAL, MULTI-PERSON (ECONOMIC) EVALUATIONS</strong>&nbsp;(information whether an instrument: i) has separate adult and child/adolescent versions available, ii) has a proxy-completion option available, iii) assesses outcomes beyond health, i.e. capabilities, iv) has multiple language versions available, v) has a preference-based value set available, and vi) has a preference-based value set available in more than one country);</li> <li><strong>OTHER</strong>&nbsp;(link to the manual and terms of use if available for the specific instrument).</li> </ol>

An environment with strong gravitational and magnetic field alterations synergizes to promote variations in Arabidopsis thaliana callus global transcriptional state

Using diamagnetic levitation we have exposed A. thaliana in vitro callus cultures to five environments with different levels of effective gravity (from levitation i.e. simulated mg* to 2g*) and magnetic fields (10.1 to 16.5 Tesla) and we have compared the results with those of similar experiments done in a Random Position Machine (simulated micro g) and a Large Diameter Centrifuge (2g) free of high magnetic fields. Microarray analysis indicates that there are changes in overall gene expression of the cultured cells exposed to these unusual environments but also that gravitational and magnetic field produce synergic variations in the steady state of the transcriptional profile of A. thaliana. Significant changes in the expression of structural abiotic stress and secondary metabolism genes were observed into the magnet field. These results confirm that the strong magnetic field both at micro g* or 2g* has a significant effect on the expression of these genes but subtle gravitational effects are still observable. These subtle responses to microgravity environments are opposite to the ones observed in a hypergravity one. seven-condition experiment MM2D Arabidopsis culture callus control vs. Treatment (altered gravity simulation GBF).
