Movie Reviews Dataset

<p>This dataset, derived from professional movie critic reviews (https://www.cs.cornell.edu/people/pabo/movie-review-data/), includes 17,165 reviews across 2,544 unique movies spanning from the 1940s to the 2020s. We enriched the dataset with metadata such as the actor, director, and writer (including their genders) using the OMDb API, gender identifier, as well as additional validation methods.</p>

Additional movies for a manuscript titled 'Leaf epidermal cells respond to application and removal of mechanical force by distinct cytosolic calcium waves'

<p>This repository provides 21 additional videos that&nbsp;highlight the spectrum of mechanically stimulated calcium responses observed in the leaf epidermis of <em>Arabidopsis t</em>. expressing the genetically encoded calcium indicator R-GECO1. These movies correspond to figures in a manuscript entitled &#39;Leaf epidermal cells respond to application and removal of mechanical force by distinct cytosolic calcium waves&#39;. In each movie, a cantilever exerts approximately 5 mN&nbsp;force to&nbsp;the&nbsp;epidermis (where the cantilever looks like&nbsp;a shadow in the movies). Each movie contains a scale bar and the relative time&nbsp;(hr:min:sec). Placement of the cantilever generally occurs after approximately 1 minute.</p>

<p>The directory is subdivided for the cylinder and flat plate bluff objects.&nbsp; Each subdirectory is further subdivided into data and movie subdirectories.</p> <p>&quot;Data&quot; consists of raw data collected from the camera.&nbsp; In the data directory is a listing of the filename with the power applied to the heater.&nbsp; Filenames of background data are also listed. &nbsp;</p> <p>&quot;Movie&quot; consists of frames integrated over 0.5 second intervals (28 frames).&nbsp; The movies include only excimer peaks for which the intensity of the peak is &gt;3 sigma (~45). Where sigma is the standard deviation of the per frame background.</p> <p>A basic Jupiter Notebook is included in the top-level directory.&nbsp; This notebook (and the python code used by the notebook) will allow a user to upload a data file and a background file, subtract the background and place the net result into a NumPy array with dimensions of 256 x 256 x 1500, which represent the 2 directions in position and time in seconds.</p>

Movie SM01

<p><em>Corotoca</em> (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) beetles are known for their close integration in the nests of the termite <em>Constrictotermes cyphergaster </em>(Termitidae: Nasutitermitinae). Although this relationship is regarded as ancient, many details are still obscure, such as their reproduction and the processes that lead to the dispersal of new beetles. We observed the use of termite foraging trails by Staphylinidae females to deposit and disperse their larvae. We recorded the deposition of larvae of <em>C. melantho</em>, <em>C. fontesi</em>, and <em>C. </em>sp. n.<em> </em>on the dorsal surfaces of termite host workers. The workers continue to follow the foraging trail until the newborn larvae freed themselves and fell into the leaf litter, subsequently burrowing into the ground. Information regarding the life stages of those Staphylinidae larvae outside the termite nest is important to understanding their full lifecycle as those taxa have strong relationships with the nest environment but also require dispersal strategies.&nbsp;This is the supplementary material for the paper: &ldquo;The road to reproduction&rdquo;: foraging trails of <em>Constrictotermes cyphergaster</em> (Termitidae: Nasutitermitinae) as maternities for Staphylinidae beetles published at Sociobiology.&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://dx.doi.org/10.13102/sociobiology.v65i3.2902">http://dx.doi.org/10.13102/sociobiology.v65i3.2902</a></p>

Movie files: Actin dynamics and the Bmp pathway drive apical extrusion of proepicardial cells.

<p>The epicardium, the outer mesothelial layer enclosing the myocardium, plays key roles in heart development and regeneration. During embryogenesis it arises from the proepicardium (PE), a cell cluster that appears in the dorsal pericardium (DP) close to the venous pole of the heart. Little is known about how the PE emerges from the pericardial mesothelium. Using the zebrafish model and a combination of genetic tools, pharmacological agents and quantitative <em>in vivo</em> imaging, we reveal that a coordinated collective movement of DP cells drives PE formation. We found that BMP signaling and the actomyosin cytoskeleton promote constriction of the DP, which enabled PE cells to extrude apically. We provide evidence that cell extrusion, which has been described in the elimination of unfit cells from epithelia and the emergence of hematopoietic stem cells, is also a mechanism for PE cells to exit an organized mesothelium and fulfil the developmental fate to form a new tissue layer, the epicardium.</p>

Reconstruction Movies for "Reconstructing Coupled Atmosphere-Ocean Variability Over the Last Millennium"

<p>Two videos of reconstructed climate fields (1000 - 2000 C.E.) from my doctoral dissertation.</p> <p><strong>production_ccsm4_atm_wProxy.mp4</strong>: A video showing the grand-ensemble mean (taken over Monte-Carlo iterations and ensemble members) spatial field results for the LMR Online reconstruction using the CCSM4-LIM calibration. Fields are centered about the 1000--1850 C.E. mean values. The spatial distribution of the proxy network available for assimilation in each year is provided in the last panel. Fields shown include: 2 m surface air temperature (TAS), 500 hPa geopotential heights (ZG500), precipitation (PR), sea-surface temperature (SST), and sea-level pressure (SLP).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>production_ccsm4_ocean.mp4:</strong> As in Movie S1, but depicting ocean fields of sea-surface temperature (SST), sea-surface salinity (SSS), 0-700 m ocean heat content (OHC700), and ZOS (Dyn.
