GLAS/ICESat L1B Global Backscatter Data (HDF5) V033
GLAH07 Level-1B global backscatter data are provided at full instrument resolution. The product includes full 532 nm (41.1 to -1.0 km) and 1064 nm (20 to -1 km) calibrated attenuated backscatter profiles at 5 times per second, and from 10 to -1 km, at 40 times per second for both channels. Also included are calibration coefficient values and molecular backscatter profiles at once per second. Data granules contain approximately 190 minutes (2 orbits) of data. Each data granule has an associated browse product.

SASS Twice-Daily SIR-Enhanced EASE-Grid 2.0 Radar Backscatter V001
This product contains twice-daily radar backscatter data collected at 14.6 GHz for horizontal-horizontal and vertical-vertical receive radar channels from the SeaSat-A satellite scatterometer (SASS) sensor. Data are available on the Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere, and Temperate EASE-Grid 2.0 projections as either 25 km or 3.125 km resolution grids. The data set uses the drop-in-the bucket gridding (GRD) and Scatterometer Image Reconstruction (SIR) algorithms to process the individual swath-based data into twice-daily morning and evening images. The GRD algorithm produces SAR images (high-resolution) on a 25 km grid and the SIR algorithm produces slice and footprint images (both lower-resolution) on a 3.125 km grid, provided at 8-,16-, 32-day imaging intervals. The data coverage is global from 7 July 1978 through 10 Oct 1978.
PALS/In Situ Multi-Campaign 800 m UTM Grid Brightness Temperature, Backscatter, and Soil Moisture Match-Up V001
This data set contains data obtained by the Passive Active L- and S-band (PALS) microwave aircraft instrument that are matched up with a variety of soil moisture campaign data. The data were collected as part of four different campaigns: Southern Great Plains 1999 (SGP99), Cloud and Land Surface Interaction Campaign 2007 (CLASIC07), Soil Moisture Experiment 2002 (SMEX02), and the SMAP Validation Experiment 2008 (SMAPVEX08).
NSCAT Twice-Daily SIR-Enhanced EASE-Grid 2.0 Radar Backscatter V001
This data set provides twice-daily enhanced-resolution radar backscatter images from 14 GHz NASA Scatterometer (NSCAT) observations by applying the Scatterometer Image Reconstruction with Filtering (SIRF) algorithm. The algorithm incorporates a median filter and a simplified spatial response function. Multiple passes of the spacecraft are combined to produce a higher spatial resolution and fill in coverage gaps between the individual measurement footprints, which are not contiguous and have six-sided shapes. Overlapping imaging periods start each day and extend through 4- and 8-day periods. Data are gridded to Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere, and Temperate EASE-Grid 2.0 projections at 3.125 km and 25 km resolutions.
A comparative study of epitaxial InGaAsBi/InP structures using Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry, X-ray diffraction and Photoluminescence techniques.
<p>In this work we used a combination of photoluminescence (PL), high resolution X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS) techniques to investigate material quality and structural properties of MBE-grown InGaAsBi samples (with and without an InGaAs cap layer) with targeted bismuth composition in the 3-4% range. XRD data showed that the InGaAsBi layers are more homogenous in the uncapped samples. For the capped samples, the growth of the InGaAs capped layer at higher temperature affects the quality of the InGaAsBi layer and bismuth distribution in the growth direction. Low temperature PL exhibited multiple emission peaks; the peak energies, widths and relative intensities were used for comparative analysis of the data in line with the XRD and RBS results. RBS data at random orientation together with channelled measurements allowed both an estimation of the bismuth composition as well as analysis of the structural properties. The RBS channelling showed evidence of higher strain due to possible anti-site defects in the capped samples grown at a higher temperature. It is also suggested that the growth of the capped layer at high temperature causes deterioration of the bismuth-layer quality. The RBS analysis demonstrated evidence of a reduction of homogeneity of uncapped InGaAsBi layers with increasing bismuth concentration. The uncapped higher bismuth concentration sample showed less defined channelling dips suggesting poorer crystal quality and clustering of bismuth on the sample surface.</p>
Processed grid of bathymetry and backscatter data at the Southwest Indian Ridge 50°28'E (AUV, DY40 cruise in 2016)
<p>Bathymetry and backscatter data used for this dataset were recorded during the DY40 cruise aboard R/V Xiangyanghong-10, using High-Resolution Bathymetric Sidescan Sonar System equipped by AUV QianLong-Ⅱ. The cruise took place in 2016 in the Southwest Indian Ridge 50°28'E. The sonar system was operated at 150 Hz with a swath width of 250 m, and the AUV was surveyed at an altitude of ~100 m above the seafloor at a speed of 1-2 kt with a track spacing of 400 m.</p>
P12 V ORBITING RADAR DERIVED BACKSCATTER CROSS SECTION V1.0
This data set consists of a VICAR2 format image of Venus large-angle radar backscatter cross section, from the side-looking mode of the Pioneer Venus radar mapper experiment. The cross section is corrected for Venus atmospheric absorption and normalized to 45 degree incidence angle via the phenomenological Muhleman scattering function. Data are presented in simple cylindrical format, with 1024 lines (latitude) and 4096 samples (longitude).
