These artifacts were scanned with either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processed in Geomagic or Polyworks. 4-8 photos were used for texture in ZBrush. Ivory fish hook barb for a composite fish hook. Sanak Island, Alaska. CAT# XFP-121-13 XFP-121 is a late prehistoric to contact period site on the west side of Sanak Island. It is dominated by the classic nucleus-satellite house styles of the Alaska Peninsula and Unimak Island. 13 of the 75 depressions are large, communal houses. Two c14 dates are about 1450 -1650 CE. These artifacts were scanned with either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processed in Geomagic or Polyworks. 4-8 photos were used for texture in ZBrush. Barbed Harpoon Head
This bone harpoon head was found at an American Indian village site on the Roanoke River in Halifax County, NC (31HX19). It measures 10.5 cm long and 2.7 cm wide. Similar harpoon heads have been found in the Chesapeake region at American Indian sites dating to the Middle Woodland Period, between 1,500 and 1,100 years ago.
