Experimental Data Set for the study "Exploratory Landscape Analysis is Strongly Sensitive to the Sampling Strategy"
<p>This are the feature values used in the study "Exploratory Landscape Analysis is Strongly Sensitive to the Sampling Strategy".</p> <p>The dataset regroups feature values for every "cheap" features available in the R package <em>flacco </em>and are computed using 5 sampling strategies and in dimension <span class="math-tex">\($d=5$\)</span>:</p> <ol> <li>Random: the classical Mersenne-Twister algorithm;</li> <li>Randu: a random number generator that is notoriously bad;</li> <li>LHS: a centered Latin Hypercube Design;</li> <li>iLHS: an improved Latin Hypercube Design;</li> <li>Sobol: points extracted from a Sobol' low-discrepancy sequence.</li> </ol> <p>The csv file <em>features_summury_dim_5_ppsn.csv </em>regroups 100 values for every features whereas <em>features_summury_dim_5_ppsn_median.csv </em>regroups for every feature the median of the 100 values.</p> <p>In the folder <em>PPSN_feature_plots</em> are the histograms of feature values on the 24 COCO functions for 3 sampling strategies: Random, LHS and Sobol.</p> <p>The Python file <em>sampling_ppsn.py</em> is the code used to generate the sample points from which the feature values are computed.</p> <p>The file <em>stats50_knn_dt.csv</em> provide the raw data of median and IQR (inter quartile interval) for the heatmaps and boxplots available in the paper.</p> <p>Finally, the files <em>results_classif_knn100.csv</em> (resp. dt) provide the accuracy of 100 classifications for every settings.</p> <p> </p>
Raw data on computational analysis the relationships of energy and mechanical properties with sensitivity for 1, 1-diamino-2, 2-dinitroethene based polymer bonded explosives
<p>The dataset provides raw data on key properties in the text as well as raw data on the temperature and energy balances of the P, P1, P2, P3 and P4 systems at room temperature. These data allow the results obtained in the article to be reproduced, while the reader can obtain the raw data for the plots not labeled with data in the article and thus quantify the exact magnitude of the changes shown in the plots. The main work of the article is: Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations have been applied to investigate 1, 1-diamino-2, 2-dinitroethene (FOX-7) crystal and FOX-7(011)-based polymer-bonded explosives (PBXs) with four typical polymers, polyethylene glycol (PEG), fluorine-polymer (F<sub>2603</sub>), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) and ester urethane (ESTANE5703) under COMPASS force field. Binding energy (E<sub>bind</sub>), cohesive energy density (CED), initiation bond length distribution, radial distribution function, and isotropic mechanical properties of FOX-7 and its PBXs at different temperatures were reported for the first time, and the relationship between them and sensitivity. Using quantum chemistry, FOX-7 was optimized with the four polymers at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level, and the structure and RDG of the optimized composite system were analyzed.</p>
Dataset of Insulin sensitizers for improving endocrine metabolism in overweight women with PCOS: a network meta-analysis
<p><span><b>Objective: </b>To evaluate the efficacy of insulin sensitizers on menstrual frequency, sex hormone and metabolic parameters in overweight women with PCOS. </span></p> <p><span><b>Methods:</b> We searched multiple databases from inception to September 2019 for RCTs. Network meta-analysis was conducted using multivariate random effects method. </span></p> <p><span><b>Results:</b> 14 trials reporting on 619 women were included. Compared with metformin, metformin + TZDs was more superior in menstrual recovery (WMD 3.68, 95% CrI 1.65 to 8.20), metformin + GLP-1 receptor agonists was more effective in decreasing AND (WMD -2.53, 95% CrI -3.96 to -1.09), both metformin + GLP-1 receptor agonists (WMD 9.22, 95% CrI 5.46 to 12.98) and metformin + TZDs (WMD 4.30, 95% CrI 0.78 to 7.82) were more effective in increasing SHBG, while TZDs was less effective in decreasing BMI (WMD 1.69, 95% CrI 0.72 to 2.66). Compared with GLP-1 receptor agonists, metformin + GLP-1 receptor agonists was associated with higher SHBG (WMD 7.80, 95% CrI 4.75 to 10.85), lower FT (WMD -1.77, 95% CrI -3.25 to -0.29), lower AND (WMD -2.70, 95% CrI -3.91 to -1.50) and lower FG (WMD -0.41, 95% CrI -0.73 to -0.08).</span></p> <p><span><b>Conclusion: </b>For overweight women with PCOS, both metformin combined with GLP-1 receptor agonists and metformin combined with TZDs appear superior to monotherapy in improving hyperandrogenemia. Metformin combined with TZDs could be particularly effective in promoting the recovery of menstruation. Metformin combined with GLP-1 receptor agonists has additional advantage in improving fasting glucose when compared with GLP-1 receptor agonists alone. TZDs is inferior to metformin in decreasing BMI.</span></p>
Data from: Is high-sensitivity troponin, alone or in combination with copeptin, sensitive enough for ruling out NSTEMI in very early presenters at admission? A post-hoc analysis performed in emergency departments
Objectives: Copeptin and high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (HS-cTn) assays improve the early detection of NSTEMI. Their sensitivities may however be reduced in very early presenters. Setting: We performed a post-hoc analysis of three prospective studies that included patients who presented to the Emergency Department for chest pain onset (CPO) of less than 6 hours. Participants: 449 patients were included, in whom 12% had NSTEMI. CPO occurred <2h from ED presentation in 160, between 2-4h in 143, and >4h in 146 patients. The prevalence of NSTEMI was similar in all groups (9%, 13% and 12%, respectively, p=0.281). Measures: Diagnostic performances of HS-cTn and copeptin at presentation were examined according to CPO. The discharge diagnosis was adjudicated by 2 experts, including cTnI. HS-cTn and copeptin were blindly measured. Results: Diagnostic accuracies of cTnI, cTnI+copeptin and HS-cTnT (but not HS-cTnT+copeptin) lower through CPO categories. For patients with CPO<2h, the choice of a threshold value of 14 ng/L for HS-cTnT resulted in 3 false negative (Sensitivity 80% [95%CI: 51-95]; specificity 85% [78-90]; 79% of correctly ruled-out patients) and that of 5 ng/L in 2 false negative ( Sensitivity 87% [59-98]; specificity 58% [50-66]; 52% of correctly ruled-out patients). The addition of copeptin to HS-cTnT induced a decrease of misclassified patients to 1 in patients with CPO<2h (Sensitivity 93% [66-100]; specificity 41% [33-50]). Conclusion: A single measurement of HS-cTn, alone or in combination with copeptin at admission, seems not safe enough for ruling out NSTEMI in very early presenters (with CPO<2h). Data from: Using sensitivity analysis to identify key factors for the propagation of a plant epidemic
Identifying the key factors underlying the spread of a disease is an essential but challenging prerequisite to design management strategies. To tackle this issue, we propose an approach based on sensitivity analyses of a spatiotemporal stochastic model simulating the spread of a plant epidemic. This work is motivated by the spread of sharka, caused by Plum pox virus, in a real landscape. We first carried out a broad-range sensitivity analysis, ignoring any prior information on six epidemiological parameters, to assess their intrinsic influence on model behaviour. A second analysis benefited from the available knowledge on sharka epidemiology and was thus restricted to more realistic values. The broad-range analysis revealed that the mean duration of the latent period is the most influential parameter of the model, whereas the sharka-specific analysis uncovered the strong impact of the connectivity of the first infected orchard. In addition to demonstrating the interest of sensitivity analyses for a stochastic model, this study highlights the impact of variation ranges of target parameters on the outcome of a sensitivity analysis. With regard to sharka management, our results suggest that sharka surveillance may benefit from paying closer attention to highly-connected patches whose infection could trigger serious epidemics.

Advanced methods for uncertainty assessment and global sensitivity analysis of a Eulerian atmospheric chemistry transport model
<p>Atmospheric chemistry transport models (ACTMs) are extensively used to provide scientific support for the development of policies to mitigate against the detrimental effects of air pollution on human health and ecosystems. Therefore, it is essential to quantitatively assess the level of model uncertainty and to identify the model input parameters that contribute the most to the uncertainty. For complex process-based models, such as ACTMs, uncertainty and global sensitivity analyses are still challenging and are often limited by computational constraints due to the requirement of a large number of model runs. In this work, we demonstrate an emulator-based approach to uncertainty quantification and variance-based sensitivity analysis for the EMEP4UK model (regional application of the European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme Meteorological Synthesizing Centre-West). A separate Gaussian process emulator was used to estimate model predictions at unsampled points in the space of the uncertain model inputs for every modelled grid cell. The training points for the emulator were chosen using an optimised Latin hypercube sampling design. The uncertainties in surface concentrations of O<sub>3</sub>, NO<sub>2</sub>, and PM<sub>2.5</sub> were propagated from the uncertainties in the anthropogenic emissions of NO<sub>x</sub>, SO<sub>2</sub>, NH<sub>3</sub>, VOC, and primary PM<sub>2.5</sub> reported by the UK National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory. The results of the EMEP4UK uncertainty analysis for the annually averaged model predictions indicate that modelled surface concentrations of O<sub>3</sub>, NO<sub>2</sub>, and PM<sub>2.5</sub> have the highest level of uncertainty in the grid cells comprising urban areas (up to ± 7%, ± 9%, and ± 9% respectively). The uncertainty in the surface concentrations of O<sub>3 </sub>and NO<sub>2</sub> were dominated by uncertainties in NO<sub>x</sub> emissions combined from non-dominant sectors (i.e. all sectors excluding energy production and road transport) and shipping emissions. Additionally, uncertainty in O<sub>3</sub> was driven by uncertainty VOC emissions combined from sectors excluding solvent use. Uncertainties in the modelled PM<sub>2.5</sub> concentrations were mainly driven by uncertainties in primary PM<sub>2.5</sub> emissions and NH<sub>3</sub> emissions from the agricultural sector. Uncertainty and sensitivity analyses were also performed for five selected grid sells for monthly averaged model predictions to illustrate the seasonal change in the magnitude of uncertainty and change in the contribution of different model inputs to the overall uncertainty. Our study demonstrates the viability of a Gaussian process emulator-based approach for uncertainty and global sensitivity analyses, which can be applied to other ACTMs. Conducting these analyses helps to increase the confidence in model predictions. Additionally, the emulators created for these analyses can be used to predict the ACTM response for any other combination of perturbed input emissions within the ranges set for the original Latin hypercube sampling design without the need to re-run the ACTM, thus allowing fast exploratory assessments at significantly reduced computational costs.</p> <p>The upload contains the uncertainty and sensitivity data together with the analysis scripts.</p>
