A map showing the two sampling sites, on Mecula and Yao mountains, Niassa province, Mozambique, and the six Highveld localities (Verloren Vallei Nature Reserve sites A, B, and C; Elandshoek; the Iona Farm; and Miss Chrissie's Country House Farm, Chrissiesmeer) in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa where the freshwater crabs were collected. The new Highveld species was collected sympatrically with Potamonautes sidneyi at four sample sites: Verloren Vallei Nature Reserve (NR) (sites B and C), and at Iona Farm and Miss Chrissie's Country House Farm, Chrissiesmeer.
