Experimental data for nonlinear dynamics and energy harvesting of bistable cantilever shells (grant 2021/41/B/ST8/03190 from the National Science Centre, Poland)
<p>An experimental tests on a cantilever composite bistable shell with a piezoelectric patch is reported. The shell is characterized by two stable configurations. Periodic force is applied at the shell’s clamped side through an electrodynamic shaker and the dynamic response is measured through an embedded strain gauge. Selected dynamic regimes are recorded by performing excitation frequency and amplitude sweeps. The resonance scenarios around the two natural frequencies corresponding to the stable configurations show different softening behavior. The excitation amplitude threshold level for snap-through motion is identified. The thested thin-walled pseudo-conical shell has been made of carbon-epoxy composite prepreg tape (AS4-GP-12K_40gsm-<br>300mm-ThinPreg135EP). The composite single layer is characterized by unidirectional reinforcement, thickness 0.04 mm. The manufacturing standard samples for strength tests in the autoclave process reduces to about 0.038 mm. </p>

Sub-national Water-Food-Labour Nexus in Colombia
<p>Poorer countries often face a severe trade-off: the need to improve socio-economic conditions is hard to balance with the maintenance of key ecological processes. As a case study, we select Colombia, a Latin American country with almost 10% of its inhabitants living in extreme poverty. We elaborate a<strong> water-food-labour (WFL) nexus</strong> grounded on a sub-national Environmentally Extended Input-Output (EEIO) analysis to assess the virtual water trade (VWT) and virtual informal labour (VIL) flows across administrative departments and economic sectors related to domestic trade.</p> <p>The main results are the following: high cross-departmental resource interdependence both in terms of VWT and VIL, rich departments highly depend on the resources of their neighbouring trading partners, extreme poverty conditions are shown by economically isolated departments, and considerable income inequality in the food production sectors. Moreover, departments that are net exporters of virtual water suffer from water stress that might be exacerbated by future high rainfall variability due to climate change. </p> <p>These results suggest that strategies to attain sustainable development goals (SDGs) must deal with the biophysical constraints and the economic and political feasibility of the proposed solutions. In this vein, we argue that a holistic framework, grounded on quantitative analyses, is necessary to support informed policy decisions for the simultaneous achievement of multiple (possibly contrasting) goals. Moreover, severe spatial imbalances call for local policy responses coordinated at the national level.</p>
Datasets Cured and Enriched with Provenance from the National Vaccination Campaign Against COVID-19
<p>The COVID-19 pandemic is a global threat. If, on the one hand, weaccount for many losses, on the other hand, the generation of datasets and ur-gent analytical demands has accelerated. Among the combat strategies, vacci-nation and data-centered epidemiological investigations stand out. This datasetpaper presents the process of building cured and annotated datasets with prove-nance metadata. The main dataset is based on the registration data of the Vacci-nation Campaign against COVID-19 in Brazil. The dataset contains thousandsof records processed up to March 2021. The data were analyzed, investigated,treated and cross-checked with other sources, in order to correct and comple-ment them, resulting in cured datasets and aligned to the FAIR principles.</p>

LivWell: a sub-national database on the Living conditions of Women and their Well-being for 52 countries
<p>LivWell is a global longitudinal database which provides a range of key indicators related to women’s socioeconomic status, health and well-being, access to basic services, and demographic outcomes. Data are available at the sub-national level for 52 countries and 447 regions. A total of 134 indicators are based on 199 Demographic and Health Surveys for the period 1990-2019, supplemented by extensive information on socioeconomic and climatic conditions in the respective regions for a total of 190 indicators. The resulting data offer various opportunities for policy-relevant research on gender inequality, inclusive development, and demographic trends at the sub-national level.</p> <p>For a full description, please refer to the article describing the database here: (link to come)</p> <p>The companion repository <em>livwelldata </em>allows to easily use the database in R. How to find data at the Danish National Archives [Webinar recording]
<p>The Danish National Archives have launched Digidata (https://digidata.rigsarkivet.dk/) which makes it easier for researchers and students to find and gain access to our large collection of research data (approx. 3000 datasets, primarily from surveys) and administrative data (approx. 6000 datasets, e.g. registers such as the Conscription Register and the Taxpayer Register).</p> <p>In the webinar, the presenter showed show how you could use Digidata platform to search for a dataset.</p> <p>Note: Portal presented at the event is in the Danish language.</p> <p>The video is available on the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsKaT3_TDSM">CESSDA Training YouTube channel.</a></p>

<p>This dataset links to the study “An assessment of data sources, data quality and changes in national forest monitoring capacities in the Global Forest Resources Assessment 2005–2020”. This study is published in the journal “Environmental Research Letters” which can be found at <a href="https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/abd81b">https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/abd81b</a>. The dataset contains two files, one csv file, and one shape file. The two files contain the same data to meet the different users' needs. The dataset contains variables for assessing national forest monitoring data sources i.e., RS and/or NFI. Separate indicators namely 'Use of RS', and 'Use of NFI' were used to analyze the two data sources (RS and NFI).
