Although many studies have examined SLA variation, relatively few data exist from high latitude, climate-sensitive permafrost regions. We measured SLA and soil and topographic properties across a boreal forest permafrost transition, in which forest composition changed as permafrost deepened from 54 to >150 cm over 75 m hillslope transects in Caribou-Poker Creeks Research Watershed, Alaska. A survey of scorpion (Scorpiones) populations along an urbanization gradient in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, Arizona, USA (summer 2019)

The goal of this research project was to evaluate how scorpion populations responded to the gradient of urbanization. We conducted 50 night-time walking transects across the gradient of urbanization from downtown Phoenix to nearby wildland areas during Summer 2019. We commonly documented three scorpion species. Data present whether a species was detected at a site during this time period.

Dendrometer Band Measurements from the Coweeta LTER Terrestrial Gradient Sites, Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory, Otto, North Carolina.

Trees for this project were banded with aluminum bands and growth increment markers to accurately measure tree growth at multiple times during the year. Trees were located on each of the five terrestrial gradient plots. Tree species, initial diameter, and subsequent calculated diameters are included for each tree.

Canopy gradient throughfall.

Throughfall (precipitation that falls through the canopy) was collected on three sites across an elevation gradient at Coweeta. For more information see Reynolds and Hunter, 2001 in Publications section below. The researchers tested whether inputs from canopy herbivores would affect soil processes such as respiration, nutrient cycling, and decomposition along an elevation gradient. The five treatments we used were frass additions, throughfall additions, removal of all litter that fell during the study, removal of greenfall that fell during the study, and controls.
