These images are useful to show the contrasting nature of the two types of sampled environments (treeless and forested environments). A – this photo corresponds to the sampled coastal swamp, which is located in sector Punta Piedra (see Fig. 1). This environment is dominated by Gunnera spp. and Juncus sp.; B – this photo corresponds to sector Punta Arena (see Fig. 1), and was taken from an elevation of 150 m a.s.l. In the foreground are some ferns (Lomatia ferruginea) and trees (Nothofagus spp., Amomyrtus luma and Maytenus boaria).
