Receiver functions in eastern Tibet

This data set consist of P-wave receiver functions (PRFs) collected from the seismic stations in eastern Tibet that are used in the study of Zhang et al. (2024). Recordings are from the ZJU-Tibet seismological array between June 2021 and July 2022 operated by Zhejiang University. The picked arrivals of Moho P-to-S converted phases on PRFs are also provided. Please note that this data is provided for reproduction purposes only.

This dataset contains the isotropic receiver function (time from 2 s to 12 s after the Pp phase) estimated from 2,260,022 original receiver functions, calculated based on the waveforms of 9361 tele-seismic events recorded by 4088 seismic stations deployed in continental China. This dataset results from a project of constructing the high-resolution China Seismological Reference Model (CSRM-1.0) in the top 10 km of the crust and uppermost mantle in continental China (Xiao et al, JGR, 2024) (model link).

If you face any problem or issue in the usage of this dataset, please feel free to communicate with the corresponding author Xiao Xiao (xiaox.seis@gmail.com).

Receiver Function Open-Access Dataset for the European Alps

This dataset comprises of the receiver function traces calculated using seismic waveform data from the AlpArray Seismic Network, three other temporary seismic networks, and permanent stations in the broader European Alpine region. We use this dataset to compile a new Moho depth map for the broader European Alps.

In particular, we include:

the radial receiver function traces in .SAC format (RRF.zip). One SAC trace per station and teleseismic earthquake.

the transverse (TRF.zip) traces in .SAC format.

the receiver function stacks from all the seismic stations plotted versus back-azimuth in .png format (RRF_plots.zip and TRF_plots.zip)

For details on how to read and process the receiver function traces have a look at the README file of the repository.
