X-Rays micro-tomography of 54 Egyptian predynastic ceramic vessels from the MAN (Musée d'Archéologie Nationale-Domaine national du château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France) made in the frame of the project TECHNOPREGYPT 2021/43/P/HS3/03262. STACK DATA

<p><span>54 complete pots and sherds from the collection of the <span><span>Mus&eacute;e d&rsquo;Arch&eacute;ologie Nationale-Domaine national du ch&acirc;teau de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France, were scanned with X-Rays microtomography (CT-Scan) to carry out the technological analysis of the samples. North Atlantic benthic d18O stack data

<p>Files containing the data for our speleothem-tied North Atlantic benthic d18O stack, including: ages, d18O values, d18O err, age samples output by BIGMACS, and the composite depth scale used for this stack (based on IODP site U1308).</p> <p>Please read for information on what each file contains:<br>'NA-stack_age-samples.txt' = 1000 sets of age model samples generated during stack construction, each column contains a unique age model.</p> <p>'NA-stack_age-d18O.txt' = the median age model output by BIGMACS after stack construction with their corresponding d18O data points (this age model closely aligns with that of the LR04 stack since the LR04 stack was used as our initial alignment target).</p> <p>'NA-stack_depth_composite.txt' = the composite depths used to reduce bias in our stack's age model.</p> <p>'NA-stack_untuned_age_model.txt' = the stack ages after mapping them onto the composite depth scale of Site U1308. This is the data plotted in Fig. 3 of the paper. This file was added on February 3, 2025 to allow users to download this data directly without having to apply the extra step of interpolating the median age model onto the depth scale themselves.</p>

The Influence of Code Comments on the Perceived Helpfulness of Stack Overflow Posts (Supplementary Material)

<p>Question-and-answer platforms such as Stack Overflow have become an important way for software developers to share and retrieve knowledge.&nbsp;However, reusing poorly understood code can lead to serious problems, such as bugs or security vulnerabilities.&nbsp;To better understand the role of code comments in the perceived helpfulness of answers on Stack Overflow, we conducted an online experiment simulating a Stack Overflow environment (n=91).&nbsp;The results indicate that block comments in particular were perceived as significantly more helpful than uncommented source code, especially by novices.&nbsp;Novices also found code snippets with block comments more helpful than those with inline comments.&nbsp;Interestingly, other surface features, such as the position of an answer and its usefulness score, were considered less important.&nbsp;The content of Stack Overflow has been a major source for training large language models.&nbsp;Although AI-based coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, which are based on these models, might change the way Stack Overflow is used, our findings have implications beyond this specific platform.&nbsp;First, the findings of this study may help improve the ongoing relevance of community-driven platforms like Stack Overflow that provide human advice and explanations of code solutions to complement AI-based support for programmers.&nbsp;Second, since chat-based tools can be prompted to generate code in different ways, knowing which properties influence the perceived helpfulness of code snippets is beneficial.</p>

Speckle image stacks acquired on human skin with a high-speed camera

<p>These datasets all consist of stacks of images of various body parts of of the same 50-year-old Caucasian male subject.</p> <p>For each acquisition, the skin was first illuminated with a near-infrared LASER (wavelength 785 nm). Then, the skin was filmed with a Phantom VEO 710L camera, with an acquisition rate of 2000 to 30,000 Hz.</p> <ul> <li>Datasets <strong>WRIST_1</strong>, <strong>WRIST_2</strong> and <strong>WRIST_3</strong> were acquired by imaging the anterior surface of the left wrist, with respective acquisition frequencies of 3000, 2000 and 10,000 Hz.</li> <li>Dataset <strong>FINGERS</strong> consists of images of the end of two fingers of the left hand. It was acquired at 30,000 Hz.</li> <li>Dataset <strong>EAR</strong> consists of images of the right ear. It was acquired at 2000 Hz.</li> <li>Dataset <strong>PALM</strong> consists of images of the palm of the left hand, which was gently scraped beforehand to trigger a superficial inflammation and draw a smiley face. It was then filmed with an acquisition frequency of 10,000 Hz.</li> </ul> <p>Each dataset is stored in a HDF5 file. The data array is stored as <strong>data </strong>at the root of the tree structure. Attributes <strong>T_exp </strong>and <strong>f_acq</strong> provide respectively the exposure time (in microseconds) and the acquisition rate (in Hertz) of the dataset. The script <strong>test.py </strong>shows how data can be accessed through Python and the library h5py. It can be used as follows:</p> <pre><code class="language-bash">python test.py filename.h5</code></pre> <p>All these datasets are used and referenced in our companion article &quot;Dynamic speckle imaging of human skin vasculature with a high-speed camera&quot; (to be published).</p>

Stacked cross correlation functions for the MeSO-net network and derived 3D Vs model

<p>This dataset contains two major types of data.</p> <p>1) The yearly stacked cross-correlation functions between 296 MeSO-net stations covering the Kanto basin, Japan.</p> <p>2) A 3D radially anisotropic Vs model for the Kanto basin. Each WTI is made by a stack of zigzag ribbons stacked on top of each other in the z direction. There are two types of WTIs taken into consideration. One has a topological ribbon and a insulating spacer in each unit cell (two layers per unit cell). The other one has one topological layer and two spacers in each unit cell (three layers per unit cell).</p>

Stacking Shakespeare and Company Membership

Shakespeare and Company Project library membership data from 1919 to 1941 are represented as a hybrid of time-series and stacked bar charts showing part-to-whole relationships made from paper and folding. Each unit, a cuboid in space and sometimes its stacking child, represents one year and displays nine variables for that year. The height corresponds to the number of active subscribers recorded in the logbooks; the depth depicts the number of members with borrowing activity, according to each member's lending library card; the length along the timeline is based on the total number of borrowing events. Each of the variables is split into two parts: previous patrons who have renewed a subscription contrasted with new members. The upper portion shows the growth and the activities of new readers.
