Database on biomass trade, production, demand, biodiversity proxies - CLEVER (D3.1)

The database on biomass trade, production, demand, biodiversity proxies will be used in CLEVER future work to quantify the causal impacts of non-food biomass trade on biodiversity threat proxies through ex-post econometric assessments. More specifically, these data will allow us to estimate trader stickiness and trade substitution elasticities for selected products, evaluate biodiversity threats related to trade of non-food biomass from land, and assess biodiversity risks related to trade of biomass from sea.

This database will be used as input to the empirical studies on how policy instruments and governance regimes moderate the impacts of land use and land cover change (LULCC), thus identifying leverage points for more effective biodiversity governance. To provide empirical estimates of critical parameters determining potential effects of trade, we use data from both various trading partners and several other publicly available data sources. Data were collected with the focus on the case studies proposed in CLEVER both in terms of countries and supply chains/sectors.

Third Row - Hammerman (Goldsmiths etc), Weaver and Dyer. The sequence of pictures were taken in a rush meaning the lower half of the model has some detail missing when looking upwards. Native-American trade pipe
Made in 3df zephyr free using 48 photos. This is a broken clay trade pipe from the early 1800's found by my father, and is one of two in my collection. I tried to get the tunnel to turn up in the scan, but it was just too dark and narrow to work very well. Collection ID: TRADE PIPE 01. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Wmid-2b69c9 - Post medieval trade weight
A complete lead or lead alloy local trade weight, of probable Post Medieval dating (17th to 18th Centuries AD). The weight is sub circular in shape, and rectangular in cross section. One concentric groove decorate the front of the weight. Inside this groove, it has been stamped with a set of incuse marks, which read IIII. This mark (I) probably denounces the required measure, whether it be 4 ounces or 4 measures of another commodity (such as flour).
