Data from: Taxonomic revision of genus Ablattaria Reitter (Coleoptera, Silphidae) employing geometric morphometrics
The genus Ablattaria Reitter, 1884 (Coleoptera: Silphidae: Silphinae) is revised. Four taxa are recognized as valid species: Ablattaria arenaria (Kraatz, 1876), A. cribrata (Ménétries, 1832), A. laevigata (Fabricius, 1775) and A. subtriangula Reitter, 1905. Ablattaria laevigata var. meridionalis Ganglbauer, 1899 is newly treated as a junior subjective synonym of A. laevigata. Lectotypes are designated for Phosphuga arenaria Kraatz, 1876, Ablattaria arenaria var. punctigera Reitter, 1884, Ablattaria arenaria var. alleoni Portevin, 1926, Silpha cribrata Ménétries, 1832, Silpha laevigata Fabricius, 1775, Silpha gibba Brullé, 1832, Ablattaria gibba var. costulata Portevin, 1926, Ablattaria gibba var. distinguenda Portevin, 1926, Ablattaria gibba var. punctata Portevin, 1926 and Ablattaria subtriangula Reitter, 1905. The distribution of all taxa is mapped, based on material examined. Geometric morphometric methods were used to evaluate shape variability in Ablattaria. Results indicated sexual dimorphism in all species. Shape inconsistency was found between the sexes of all taxa when tested independently. The first two relative warp axes indicated 65.17% shape variation in males and 65.72% in females. Canonical variate analysis separated the taxa studied. There was minimal overlap between some groups in both sexes. Differences in body shape between populations of A. laevigata from Central Europe, Italy and Greece + Turkey were also examined. Relative warps implied 58.01% shape variability on both axes in males and 64.78% in females. CVA revealed noticeable overlaps between the groups, although the Italian population demonstrated a higher separation in both sexes.

<p>India produces 1.5 million engineers every year. A relevant question is what determines the salary and the jobs these engineers are offered right after graduation. Various factors such as college grades, candidate skills, proximity of the college to industrial hubs, the specialization one is in, market conditions for specific industries determine this. </p> <p>The dataset contains various information about a set of engineering candidates and their employment outcomes. For every candidate, the data contains both the profile information along with their employment outcome information. Candidate Profile Information includes: </p> <ul> <li><strong>Scores on Aspiring Minds’ AMCAT</strong> – a standardized test of job skills. The test includes cognitive, domain and personality assessments</li> <li><strong>Personal information</strong> like gender, date of birth, etc.</li> <li><strong>Pre-university information</strong> like high school grades, high school location</li> <li><strong>University information</strong> like GPA, college major, college reputation proxy.</li> <li><strong>Demographic information</strong> like location of college, candidates’ permanent location</li> </ul> <p>Employment Outcome Information includes:</p> <ul> <li>First job annual salary</li> <li>First job title</li> <li>First job location</li> </ul> <p>This is the only data set where we have employment outcomes together with scores on a standardized job test, which makes this very unique. Other such data sets either do not test scores at all or scores on pre-university tests</p> <p><strong>Data Collection</strong></p> <p>A million undergraduates take AMCAT every year as a way to get job credentials and feedback to improve themselves. Candidates are tested on the following skills –</p> <ul> <li><strong>English Language, Logical Ability and Quantitative Ability</strong> – these are IRT based adaptive modules. More information here on what IRT based adaptive tests are.</li> <li><strong>Personality</strong> – Big Five based personality instrument. More information here.</li> <li><strong>Skill tests</strong> – Chosen by candidates based on their interest</li> </ul> <p>These assessments are validated against on-job performance and show a validity between 0.3-0.55 (Learn more about test validity here - http://www.centerforpubliceducation.org/Main-Menu/Evaluating-performance/A-guide-to-standardized-testing-The-nature-of-assessment). These scores are used by 2000+ companies. <br /> <br /> Random AMCAT takers were surveyed via email wherein they provided information on the dependent variables in this dataset – the jobs they are in and their corresponding annual salaries. Corresponding independent information about the candidates was recorded at the time of them taking AMCAT. </p> <p> </p>

A STUDY ON GIG ECONOMY AND REDEFINING EMPLOYMENT IN BHOPAL DISTRICT
<p>The Gig economy has had an enormous impact on the nature and status of employment. The <br>Fourth Industrial Revolution, adoption of Exponential Technologies and digital platform have <br>changed the traditional full-time, stable individual employment system but also bring tremendous <br>job opportunities in the form of on-demand freelance contractor work to unemployed workforce <br>especially Millennials. It is disrupting the way in which we work, who we work with and where <br>we work from. This paper explained what the gig economy is, what are the challenges facing by <br>workforce and Indian Economy and its impact on nature and status of employment. This paper is <br>tried to analyze the millenials" perspective regarding the gig jobs, employment status under gig <br>economy and also tried to explore the factors which should be included in overall employment <br>system. This paper also gives an overview for Best Practices to be adopted for framing policies <br>and regulations of workers under gig economy. A total of 124 gig workers from taxi aggregator <br>services of Bhopal District have been selected for this Study. Our study concluded that the most of <br>the gig workers earn their primary income through gig job and they would like to continue this gig <br>job on permanent basis</p>
