Data from: C,N-codoped MoSi2 ceramic with excellent heat resistance for microwaves absorption application
Microwaves absorption (MA) materials with high heat resistance have a wide range of applications in many fields. In this work, a C,N-codoped-MoSi2 ceramic was prepared via a facile solid phase reaction method and its MA properties was investigated. On the one hand, the results indicate that this ceramic possesses excellent heat resistance and the weight of the MoSi2 is almost constant when the temperature is lower than 800 ℃. On the other hand, this ceramic shows good MA performance when the filler loading ratio increases to 30 vol%, the value of reflection loss(RL) could reach to -17.70 dB at 7.44 GHz with the thickness of 2.0 mm and the effective EM absorption bandwidth (RL below -10 dB) could reach to 1.88 GHz (9.28 GHz–11.16 GHz) with the thickness of 1.5 mm. Multi-polarization resonance loss is considered as the predominant attention mechanism on the MA performance of this MoSi2 ceramic. This research provides a new idea for understanding resonance mechanism and greatly expands the application scope of MoSi2 ceramic in MA area.
The dataset of the BCZT ceramic characterizations
<p><span>All original data used in figures and tables of the manuscript are available in the dataset, which includes the XRD, variable temperature dielectric, room temperature frequency spectrum and ferroelectric performance measurements.</span>A sol-gel method is employed for preparing high quality lead-free glass-ceramic samples (1-<i>x</i>) BCZT-<i>x </i>BBS – incorporating Ba<sub>0.85</sub>Ca<sub>0.15</sub>Zr<sub>0.1</sub>Ti<sub>0.9</sub>O<sub>3 </sub>(BCZT) powder and Bi<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>-B<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>-SiO<sub>2</sub> (BBS) glass doped additives with different values of<i> x</i> (<i>x </i>= 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15). <span>With the increase of BBS content, the polarization degree gradually decreases, but the breakdown electric field intensity first increases and then decreases, reaching the maximum value of 141 kV/cm when <i>x</i> =0.1. The energy storage density is calculated according to the electric field and polarization intensity. The maximum energy storage density reaches 0.3907 Jcm<sup>-3 </sup>at electric field of 130 kV/cm as <i>x </i>value is 0.05.</span></p>
