Qualitas.class: A Compiled Version of the Qualitas Corpus

We provide compiled Java projects for the 111 systems originally included in the Qualitas Corpus. We also gathered a large amount of metrics data (such as measurements from complexity, coupling, and CK metrics) about the systems. By making Qualitas.class Corpus public, our goal is to assist researchers by removing the compilation effort when conducting empirical studies.

Compiled BSE images

These BSE images are part of an future book chapter on carbonate diagenesis and its effect on the rock-internal carbon isotope composition. The BSE images are produced at the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin (Germany) with a Jeol JSM-6610LV SEM and an 15.0 kV beam acceleration as the operating condition. An automatized protocol took images along a grid that covered the whole surface of the polished rock slab (~5 by 5 cm). The resulting images are therefore a compilation of multiple individual BSE images linked together. The samples are taken from a limestone sequence that covers the Permian–Triassic transition, the outcrop is situated in NW Iran near the town of Zal (38°73.30 N, 45°58.00 E).

Afterslip Model Database RC2022 (Afterslip Moment Scaling and Variability from a Global Compilation of Estimates)

Churchill2022AfterslipDatabase.xlsx is a detailed database of aseismic afterslip models and corresponding mainshock information compiled by Robert Churchill (under the supervision of Maximilian Werner, Juliet Biggs and Åke Fagereng). The database contains afterslip models of mainshocks since 1979, with a publication cut-off at the end of 2018. The database is near complete, but not exhaustive. Descriptions of each column can be found as comments in the header field, as well as in the accompanying paper. Not all fields are not complete, some are also approximate or inferred values.

This accompanies the paper:

Churchill, R.M., Werner, M.J., Biggs, J. and Fagereng, Å., 2022. Afterslip Moment Scaling and Variability from a Global Compilation of Estimates. Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, p.e2021JB023897. https://doi.org/10.1029/2021JB023897.

We hope the database serves as a useful resource to the afterslip community. Please reference our associated paper when using this database, as well as the database itself. References for individual afterslip papers can be found on the second sheet of the database, and references for additional data used in our study can be found in the third sheet. In the future, the database may be updated to include additional (missed) studies, however, this first version accompanies our study.

*Headers for columns U and V are mislabelled Afterslip Upper Depth Limit (km) and Afterslip Lower Depth Limit (km), when these should be Coseismic Slip Upper Depth Limit (km) and Coseismic Slip Lower Depth Limit (km). The data in these columns is otherwise correct.

Data Compilation Supporting the Development of gas signatures of smouldering peat wildfire from emission factors

This is the dataset of emission factors used for the paper "Development of gas signatures of smouldering peat wildfires from emission factors" published in 2022 in Journal of the International Association of Wildland Fire.

Smouldering peat fires are responsible for regional haze episodes and cause environmental, social and health crisis. Owing to the unique burning characteristics of smouldering peat, identifying and detecting this kind of fire from flaming and among all wildfire fuels remain a challenge. This work explores and develops smouldering peat gas signatures using emission factor (EF) data from the literature. Systematic comparisons and statistical analyses were carried out to investigate the difference and statistical significance of 28 forms of EF combinations created from the 4 most abundant gas species (CO2, CO, CH4 and NH3) from smouldering peat, flaming savanna and grassland, agricultural residue and forest fires.

A comprehensive compilation of Michaelis-Menten kinetic observations of methanotrophy

This is a compilation of all published measurements of the Michaelis-Menten kinetics of methanotrophy as of 10/2023. Relevant publications were identified using a Google Scholar search with the search terms “soil AND kinetic AND Michaelis-Menten OR Monod OR Vmax AND intitle:methane OR intitle:ch4.” Out of 909 results for these search terms, 67 publications dating from between 1987 and 2023 met the requirements for reporting Vmax and/or KM values for natural soils and are included here.

This compilation supported the findings reported in the 2024 article "Evaluating the contribution of methanotrophy kinetics to uncertainty in the soil methane sink" published in Environmental Research Letters.

Compilation of existing underwater PAM repositories, libraries, and applications for sound processing

Resources for passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) are continuously expanding and being developed, yet a major challenge for users is staying up-to-date and finding the best software or application for their acoustics investigation. We expand on previous efforts (Rhinehart & Nicholson, 2022; Felgate, 2023) with the aim of providing a current, comprehensive list of 1) underwater sound repositories of raw sound data without significant processing, 2) biological sound reference libraries, with species or taxa identification, and 3) sound processing tools for visualization, annotation, or analysis. This spreadsheet contains three pages, one dedicated to each of the aforementioned items, along with some descriptive information to help users identify the best resources for their needs.

This work was done to support the Global Library of Underwater Biological Sounds (GLUBS) project and funded in part by the Richard Lounsbery Foundation and from funding to SCOR WG #169 (GLUBS) provided by national committees of the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) and from a grant to SCOR from the US National Science Foundation (OCE--2140395), with support from the International Quiet Ocean Experiment.

Compilation of LCF and TMF Data for Single-Crystal and Directionally-Solidified Ni-base Superalloys (All Orientations)

This Excel file contains a compilation of low cycle fatigue (LCF) and thermomechanical fatigue (TMF) data for single-crystal (SX) and directionally-solidified (DS) Ni-base superalloys that are typically used for blades and vanes in gas turbines. Most of the data is generated by strain-controlled uniaxial fatigue tests. Both continuous cycling and cycles with dwells (hold times) at either the maximum or minimum of the cycle are included in the dataset.

Several different alloys with similar mechanical behaviors are included in the dataset. The dataset only includes materials that have undergone a solution and age heat treatment typical of that applied to blade and vane components. All the fatigue data in this dataset is limited to uniaxial cyclic loading. The loading direction with respect to the crystal orientation or solidification direction varies. The data in this dataset has been extracted from the public domain. The sources of the data are included in the Excel file.

This data is used to train a Probabilistic Physics-guided Neural Network (PPgNN) that outputs a strain-life curve, including the mean response and 95% confidence intervals. The INPUTS and OUTPUTS used in the PPgNN are highlighted in the Excel file.
