What can be seen here is that infralabial scales in L. ubaghsi sp. nov. and L. frassinettii are notoriously enlarged in comparison with L. valdesianus. What this figure illustrates is that the dorsal scales of L. valdesianus tend to be much more juxtaposed and with more interstitial space filled with granular scales between them than in the rest of the leopardinus clade.
