TINKER_WP4_DC layout printing data_050623

Binary image data which were provided to the inkjet printer to print the DC layout. The images are stored in folders as follows:

1) The folder named "Rotated patterns" contains images of the patterns after aligning the substrate images to them. The substrate image is kept unchanged while the pattern is rotated to align with die rotation. The contents of that folder are just for visualization.

2) The folder named "final rotated" contains the binary bitmaps for both the conductive patterns and the masked out dies.

3) The folder named "unrotated patterns" contains images of the patterns after aligning the substrate images to them. The patterns are kept unrotated, while the substrate images are rotated so that the die rotation is always zero. The contents of that folder are just for visualization.

4) The folder named "final unrotated" contains two universal binary bitmaps for the pattern and the masked out die, since the pattern's and die's rotation are always kept zero.

Data from: Ultra-uniform, strong and ductile 3D printed titanium alloy through bifunctional alloy design

Coarse columnar grains and heterogeneously distributed phases commonly form in metallic alloys produced by three-dimensional (3D) printing and are often considered undesirable because they can impart non-uniform and inferior mechanical properties. We demonstrate a design strategy to unlock consistent and enhanced properties directly from 3D printing. Using Ti−5Al−5Mo−5V−3Cr as a model alloy, we show that adding molybdenum (Mo) nanoparticles promotes grain refinement during solidification and suppresses the formation of phase heterogeneities during solid-state thermal cycling. The microstructural change due to the bifunctional additive results in uniform mechanical properties and simultaneous enhancement of both strength and ductility. We demonstrate how this alloy can be modified by a single component to address unfavourable microstructures, providing a pathway to achieve desirable mechanical characteristics directly from 3D printing.

Heterolayered carbon allotrope architectonics via multi-material 3D printing for advanced electrochemical devices

3D printing has become a powerful technique in electrochemistry for fabricating electrodes, thanks to readily available conductive nanocomposite filaments, such as those based on carbon fillers (i.e., carbon nanotubes (CNTs) or carbon black (CB)) within an insulating polymeric matrix like polylactic acid (PLA). Inspired by inorganic heterostructures that enhance the functional characteristics of nanomaterials, we fabricated hetero-layered 3D printed devices based on carbon allotropes using a layer-by-layer assembly approach. The heterolayers were customised through the alternate integration of different carbon allotrope filaments via a multi-material 3D printing technique, allowing for a time-effective method to enhance electrochemical performance. As a first demonstration of applicability, CNT/PLA and CB/PLA filaments were utilised to construct ordered hetero-layered carbon-based electrodes. This contrasts with conventional methods where various carbon species are mixed in the same composite-based filament used for building electrochemical devices. Multi-material 3D-printed carbon electrodes exhibit improved electrochemical performance in energy conversion (e.g., hydrogen evolution reaction or HER) and sensing applications (e.g., ascorbic acid detection) compared to single-material electrodes. This work paves the way for manufacturing advanced 3D-printed heterolayered electrodes with enhanced electrochemical activity through multi-material 3D printing technology.
