Temperature differences in hardwood trees using thermal dissipation probes in Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, NH and Bartlett Experimental Forest, NH

The MELNHE study looks at patterns of resource limitation through nutrient manipulations in three study sites in New Hampshire: Bartlett Experimental Forest, Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, and Jeffers Brook, located in the White Mountain National Forest. The investigation is monitoring stem diameter, leaf area, sap flow, foliar chemistry, leaf litter production and chemistry, foliar nutrient resorption, root biomass and production, mycorrhizal associations, soil respiration, heterotrophic respiration, N and P availability, N mineralization, soil phosphatase activity, soil carbon and nitrogen, nutrient uptake capacity of roots, and mineral weathering. Applications of N and P began in June 2011 and continue at the rate of 30 kg N/ha/yr (as NH4NO3) and 10 kg P/ha/yr (as NaH2PO4). This dataset was produced using thermal dissipation probes in hardwood trees. We recorded temperature differences between the reference and heated over multiple days in five hardwood species across 5 years. Sites are located in Bartlett Experimental Forest and Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in NH. The number of trees in each plot and species vary among years. These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station.

TVCSnow 2017-2018 tundra snow depth probe measurements

<p>Snow depth measurements were recorded in March 2018 as part of Environment and Climate Change Canada&#39;s 2017-2018 Trail Valley Creek Snow Experiment (TVCSnow 17/18). These snow depths were collected to investigate the relationship between snow microstructure and airborne and ground-based passive microwave radiometer measurements of snow in a tundra environment to develop improved methods for retrieving tundra snow water equivalent and atmospheric profiles of temperature and humidity. Snow depths were recorded 50 km north of the town of Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Measurements took place from March 16th to 23rd 2018 in and around the Trail Valley Creek research station. <p>Three participants, identified with fictitious names, were exposed to Instructional and Probe sessions to induce and test for Bidirectional Naming (BiN). This Dataset is composed by the records of both types of individual sessions, as recorded originaly by the computer and the experimenter. In the begginig of the files there are some general information, and below are the data for trials. Each line represents a trial and informs the response latency, the stimuli presented and the response given, as well as the expected response.<br> The data is in portuguese, but the authors are at disposal for any doubts. The name of the file indicates the participant and the study phase.</p>

Experimental data for a 5MHz acoustic measuring probe: partⅠ

<p>This is the data base about the study on a newly developed acoustic probe. The frequency of the probe is 5MHz.&nbsp;The sand sample used in the study is relatively small and all come from Changjiang River. BSI means&nbsp;back scattered sound intensity, SSC means&nbsp;suspended sediment concentration. Exponential method and power method are put forward to the fit of the experimental data, the correlation coefficient and parameters of the two method are calculated.&nbsp;</p> <p>This data base including:</p> <p>(1)&nbsp;recorded time-averaged BSI of each group with different SSC.</p> <p>(2) changes of recorded BSI plot against SSC.</p> <p>(3) calculation table for correlation coefficient of&nbsp; exponential method and power method.</p> <p>BSI is obtained from analyzing time domain signals.&nbsp;</p>
