Cylinder Seal
I assumed this was fake when I bought it, now that I have looked at it closely, I am less certain. The drill holes seem to show old drilling techniques. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Volumetric measurements of the flow over a slanted cylinder

Thank you for the interest in the experimental data set used in my dissertation! This data set was acquired during my PhD dissertation work, published in 2020.
For details of the acquisition and interpretation, please check the dissertation referenced below:

"Characterization of the slanted cylinder afterbody wake and goal-based experimental optimization of open-loop wake control" - Fernando Zigunov - Florida State University - PhD Dissertation - 2020

Please cite this repository and/or the dissertation document if you use the data set in your work!

_________________________
This data set contains flow visualization and pressure measurements performed on a cylinder with a slanted afterbody,
a simplified geometry used for aircraft fuselage "tail" studies. It contains Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) data with
volumetric mesurements, which allow for great insight of the flow field.

Please contact fzigunov@fsu.edu for queries and questions.

CiP Discrete Manufacturing Dataset (Cylinder bottom (SAW))

Dataset recorded in the process learning factory CiP at the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools, TU Darmstadt for the purpose of demonstrating and testing InterQ developed solutions. It was used to demonstrate the framework's effectiveness in a case study involving process monitoring of a real-world Computer Numerical Control milling process. The dataset includes accelerometer data and multiple types of realistic concept drifts.

Flow Around a Cylinder for Generative Learning

The dataset contains 100,000 images with a resolution of 1000 x 600 pixels of the test case of a flow around a cylinder at Reynolds number 3900, where the flow field is characterized by a Kármán vortex street developing in the wake of the cylinder. The vortex street consists of a characteristic coherent vortex system in which the rotational axes of the individual vortices are aligned with the cylinder axis. The data set of gray-scale images was generated by post-processing the transient Large Eddy Simulation (LES) velocity field data using a projection mapping in the sense that the system remains ergodic on a reduced state space.

The data was originally used to train and validate generative models. The results of these studies are presented in the article

Drygala, C., Winhart, B., di Mare, F., & Gottschalk, H. (2022). Generative modeling of turbulence. Physics of Fluids, 34(3),

where a detailed description of the numerical setup can be found.
