While Polistes bischoffi mainly occurs from Southern Europe to Western Asia, Polistes helveticus appears to have a more northern distribution in Central Europe. Thus far, the only incidences of syntopy (Polistes bischoffi, Polistes helveticus) are from Switzerland.
