Kirchenorgelaufnahmen zur Verwendung als Stimuli in virtuellen Umgebungen
<p>Diese Veröffentlichung enthält Audiosignale einer aufwändigen Orgelproduktion. Die Vielzahl an Klangregistern und die damit verbundene räumliche Ausdehnung des Instrumentes bietet ein beeindruckendes Potential an Wiedergabeszenarien. Die Stimuli-Sammlung enthält Aufnahmen der Toccata und Fuge, Akkorde, Tonleitern und Arpeggien, jeweils in Tutti-Besetzung sowie mit Einzelregistern gespielt. Um die pegelrichtige Wiedergabe der Stimuli zu gewährleisten, wurde eine doppelte Mikrofonierung mit zusätzlichen kalibrierbaren Messmikrofonen vorgenommen, welche eine Pegelanpassung der künstlerisch eingesetzten Mikrofone erlaubt. Die Audiodaten wurden anschließend jeweils mit einem entsprechenden 1 kHz-Kalibrierton versehen. Es stehen jeweils eine Referenzmischung sowie die Einzelsignale der Direkt- und Raum-Mikrofone zur Verfügung. Zur umfangreichen Dokumentation zählen auch Videos sowie Bilder und ein 3D-Modell des Kirchenraumes.</p>

A method for identifying environmental stimuli and genes responsible for genotype-by-environment interactions from a large-scale multi-environment data set
<p>It has not been fully understood in real fields what environment stimuli cause the genotype-by-environment (G × E) interactions, when they occur, and what genes react to them. Large-scale multi-environment data sets are attractive data sources for these purposes because they potentially experienced various environmental conditions. In this study, we developed a data-driven approach termed <u>E</u>nvironmental <u>C</u>ovariate Search Affecting <u>G</u>enetic <u>C</u>orrelations (ECGC) to identify environmental stimuli and genes responsible for the G × E interactions from large-scale multi-environment data sets. ECGC was applied to a soybean (<i>Glycine max</i>) data set that consisted of 25,158 records collected at 52 environments. ECGC illustrated what meteorological factors shaped the G × E interactions in six traits including yield, flowering time, and protein content and when they were involved. For example, it illustrated the relevance of precipitation around sowing dates and hours of sunshine just before maturity to the interactions observed for yield. Moreover, genome-wide association mapping on the sensitivities to the identified stimuli discovered candidate and known genes responsible for the G × E interactions. Our results demonstrate the capability of data-driven approaches to bring novel insights on the G × E interactions observed in fields. This dataset provides the data used in this study and supplementary tables cited in the manuscript.</p>

In Situ-Forming Gels Loaded with Stimuli-Responsive Gated Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles for Local Sustained Drug Delivery
<p>A novel combination of in situ-forming hydrogels of hyaluronic acid with gated mesoporous materials was developed to design depots for local sustained release of chemotherapeutics. The depot consists of a hyaluronic-based gel loaded with redox-responsive mesoporous silica nanoparticles loaded with safranin O or doxorubicin and capped with polyethylene glycol chains containing a disulfide bond. The nanoparticles are able to deliver the payload in the presence of the reducing agent, glutathione (GSH), that promotes the cleavage of the disulfide bonds and the consequent pore opening and cargo delivery. Release studies and cellular assays demonstrated that the depot can successfully liberate the nanoparticles to the media and, subsequently, that the nanoparticles are internalized into the cells where the high concentration of GSH induces cargo delivery. When the nanoparticles were loaded with doxorubicin, a significant reduction in cell viability was observed. Our research opens the way to the development of new depots that enhance the local controlled release of chemotherapeutics by combining the tunable properties of hyaluronic gels with a wide range of gated materials.</p>
