Numerical data sets pertaining to phase-field simulations of faceted crystal dissolution processes
<p>The numerical data in this repository (Archive.zip + Animation.zip) pertains to the simulation results of faceted crystal dissolution processes in different crystal-liquid systems. The simulations were performed using the software package named "Pace3D version 2.5.1". The software license can be purchased at Steinbeis Network (www.steinbeis.de) in the management of Britta Nestler and Michael Selzer under the subject area ‘Material Simulation and Process Optimization’. </p> <p><br> The data is organized, the way it appears in the figures in the manuscript. Thus, the folders (compressed) are named according to the figure number in the manuscript.</p> <ul> <li>For the sake of convenience, the simulation data at intermediate dissolution stages was converted from Pace3D output format (*.phiindex.p3s and *.phi_crystal.p3s) to VTK data format, that can be visualized using open source software packages like Paraview. The VTK data files in each subfolder are also compressed (*.gz). For visualization, a decompression of the data is necessary (e.g. with gzip, 7zip).</li> <li>The animation videos of the simulations are also attached as a separate compressed file named Animation.zip.</li> </ul>
Data Processing for a Small-Scale Long-Term Coastal Ocean Observing System Near Mobile Bay, Alabama: A Geoscience Papers of the Future (GPF) Workflow Diagram
<p>The Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) has been operating a permanent moored oceanographic station at 30 05.410'N, 88 12.694'W, 25 km southwest of the entrance to Mobile Bay, Alabama, since 2004. It collects hydrographic and current velocity data.</p> <p>This diagram shows the processing steps for data from the instruments at this mooring, from initial download to initial scientific analysis.</p> <p>The file has been prepared as supplementary material for a Geoscience Paper of the Future (GPF) in prep for publication at Earth and Space Science, as part of the OntoSoft GPF Initiative.</p>

CSV files, R script and stimuli: writing process data of typed intransitive, monotransitive and ditransitive sentences by 90 healthy adults
<p>Writing process data of 90 healthy elderly (50 - 90 years) were obtained. Each of them completed a typed sentence production task that consisted of 40 trials. Time on task, production time, and pause times before sentences, between words and within words were logged with a keystroke logging tool (ScriptLog). The data were used to examine the influences of normal ageing and verb transitivity on sentence production. The underlying aim was to provide a foundation for further research on sentence production in Alzheimer's disease (AD).</p> <p>This data set contains the CSV files that were used for the analyses and the corresponding R script. Note that the files contain the data before data reduction (still containing, e.g., participants that were eventually not included in the analyses, or sentences with errors); the R script includes the necessary code for data reduction. This data set also contains the stimuli that were used in the experiment (a subset of images from the Open Linguistic Picture Database; Paesen & Meulemans, 2020).</p> <p>The paper is currently under review. The data will be available as soon as it is accepted for publication.</p>

<p>Modern living and working environments are more and more interspersed with the concurrent execution of locomotion and sensory processing, most often in the visual domain. Many job profiles involve the presentation of visual information while walking, for example in warehouse logistics work, where a worker has to manage walking to the correct aisle to pick up a package while being presented with visual information over data-glasses concerning the next order. Similar use-cases can be found in manufacturing jobs, for example in car montage assembly lines where next steps are presented via augmented reality headsets while walking at a slow pace. Considering the overall scarcity of cognitive resources available to be deployed to either the cognitive or motor processes, task performance decrements were found when increasing load in either domain. Interestingly, the walking motion also had beneficial effects on peripheral contrast detection and the inhibition of visual stream information.</p> <p>Taking these findings into account, we conducted a study that comprised the detection of single visual targets (Landolt Cs) within a broad range of the visual field (-40° to +40° visual angle) while either standing, walking, or walking with concurrent perturbations. We used questionnaire (NASA-TLX), behavioral (response times and accuracy), and neurophysiological data (ERPs and ERSPs) to quantify the effects of cognitive-motor interference. The study was conducted in a Gait Real-time Analysis Interactive Laboratory (GRAIL), using a 180° projection screen and a swayable and tiltable dual-belt treadmill.</p> <p>Questionnaire and behavioral measures showed common patterns. We found increasing subjective physical workload and behavioral decrements with increasing stimulus eccentricity and motor complexity. Electrophysiological results also indicated decrements in stimulus processing with higher stimulus eccentricity and movement complexity (P3, Theta), but highlighted a beneficial role when walking without perturbations and processing more peripheral stimuli regarding earlier sensory components (N1pc/N2pc, N2).</p> <p>These findings suggest that walking without impediments can enhance the visual processing of peripheral information and therefore help with perceiving non-foveal sensory content. Also, our results could help with re-evaluating previous findings in the context of cognitive-motor interference, as increased motor complexity might not always impede cognitive processing and performance.</p>
