Data from: Association between attitudes of stigma toward mental illness and attitudes toward adoption of evidence-based practice within health care providers in Bahrain

<p><span>The health care system is one of the key areas where people with mental illnesses could experience stigma. Clinicians can hold stigma attitudes during their interactions with patients with mental illness. To improve the quality of mental health services and primary care, evidence-based practices should be disseminated and implemented. In this study, <a name="_Hlk23098053">we evaluated the attitudes of health care providers in Bahrain toward people with mental illness and adoption of evidence-based practice </a>using the Opening Minds Stigma Scale for Healthcare Providers (OMS-HC) and Evidence-Based Practice Attitude Scale (EBPAS).<b> </b>We conducted a cross-sectional study across 12 primary health care centers and a psychiatric hospital (the country's main mental health care facility). A self-report questionnaire was distributed among all health care providers.<b> </b>A total of 547 health care providers participated, with 274 from mental health services and 273 from primary care services. Results of the OMS-HC indicated differences between both main groups and subgroups. Regression model analysis reported significant outcomes. There was no statistical difference found between both groups in EBPAS scores. A weak but statistically significant negative association was reported between both scales.<b> </b>Participants showed varying stigma attitudes across different working environments, with less stigma shown in mental health services than in primary care services. <a name="_Hlk23098110">Providers who were more open to adopting evidence-based practices showed less stigma toward people with mental illness. Comparing our findings with previous research</a> showed that health care providers in Bahrain hold more stigma attitudes than other groups studied. We hope that this study serves as an initial step toward future campaigns against the stigma of mental illness in Bahrain and across the region.</span></p>

<p>Mobile learning technologies serve has as a transformative tool in the educational sector which gives room for accessibility, flexibility and scalability. It also improves student learning outcomes. This study aims to review research on students' attitude and perception towards the adoption and implementation of mobile learning technologies using the Unified Theory and Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. From the studies, results showed that students' perception has a major impact on the adoption and use of mobile technologies. However, based on the various literature reviewed, students' perception is influenced by performance expectancy, effort expectancy (ease of use of the technology), social influence, perceived enjoyment and satisfaction. All these must be put into consideration before design and implementation for the effectiveness. Nevertheless, if all or some of these constructs were not incorporated in the development of mobile learning technology, obstructs the adoption and implementation of mobile learning.</p>

Guidelines for Adoption Micro-frontend Architecture

<p><strong>Context:</strong> The rapid evolution of software development has led to challenges when integrating new technologies into monolithic frontend architectures. While microservices advanced backend modularity, frontends often face issues like code redundancy, scalability, and lack of modularity. The micro-frontend architecture emerged as a modular approach to address these challenges.</p> <p><strong>Problem:</strong> Current monolithic frontend structures hinder agility and scalability in corporate environments, affecting both technology performance and business adaptability. This study targets challenges such as redundancy and the complexities of team coordination when scaling frontend projects.</p> <p><strong>Proposed Solution:</strong> We developed a Guide for Adoption of Micro-Frontends (GAM), providing structured guidelines to support the effective implementation of micro-frontends in corporate contexts.</p> <p><strong>IS Theory:</strong> This research draws upon the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), evaluating the factors influencing the adoption of micro-frontend architecture within development teams.</p> <p><strong>Method:</strong> We conducted a systematic mapping study (SMS) to investigate the impacts and challenges associated with adopting micro-frontends in software development. Next, we proposed the GAM and carried out a case study at [Blind Review]&nbsp;to assess the feasibility of the proposed guide. Additionally, we conducted a survey with development practitioners to explore their perceptions of the micro-frontend architecture and the workflows suggested by the GAM.</p> <p><strong>Results:</strong> Results indicate that GAM is viewed positively by practitioners, assisting in the structured adoption of micro-frontends. Our case study highlights critical areas impacted by this approach, including performance, scalability, and parallel development, as well as issues with module complexity and developer experience.</p> <p><strong>Contributions and Impact on IS:</strong> This research contributes a practical framework for the industry, addressing current gaps in micro-frontend implementation and setting a basis for further study on modular frontend architectures in Information Systems (IS). GAM provides actionable insights for practitioners, enhancing frontend modernization efforts with measurable impacts in agility and maintenance.</p>

<h3><span>Paper title this data set accompanies (submitted for peer review)&nbsp;</span></h3> <p><strong><span>Cognitive frames that drive AI adoption</span></strong></p> <h3><span>Paper Abstract</span></h3> <p><span>We investigate the role of cognitive frames in the adoption of artificial intelligence in the workplace. We propose a theoretical model of a three-level hierarchy of AI adoption that distinguishes between acceptance, collaboration, and co-creation. Each level represents higher levels of sophistication in human involvement in working with AI, ranging from passive utilitarian acceptance to active collaboration and co-creation. Using reasoning from technological frames of reference theory, we tested a structural model connecting individual cognitive frames to AI adoption. We developed a structural equation model that analyzed data collected from a sample of 305 professionals in Europe who have a high usage of technology in the workplace. Our results show the model exhibits high goodness of fit and predictive relevance. Understanding the Adoption of Modern JavaScript Features: An Empirical Study on Open-Source Systems

<p>This repository contains the data and analysis from an empirical study investigating the adoption trends of modern JavaScript features introduced with ECMAScript 6 (ES6) and beyond. By mining the source code history of 158 open-source JavaScript projects, the study identifies efforts to rejuvenate legacy code by replacing outdated constructs with modern ones. The findings highlight the extensive use of modern features, their widespread adoption within one to two years after ES6's release, and ongoing trends in the rejuvenation of JavaScript codebases.<br><br></p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>scripts.zip</strong>: Contains Python scripts used to analyze data and generate the graphs presented in the study's results.</p> </li> <li><strong>scripts-threats-analysis.zip</strong>:&nbsp; Contains the Python scripts used to analyze the projects without applying the study's filtering criteria and to generate the table presented in the Threats to Validity section.</li> <li> <p><strong>jsminer-tool.zip</strong>: Includes the tool developed to analyze GitHub repository history and collect metrics on the adoption of modern JavaScript features.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>jsminer_database_backup.zip</strong>: Provides a PostgreSQL database dump containing all code review comments from the repositories analyzed in the study.</p> </li> </ul>

Survey of customers' perception and adoption with the mandatory plastic bag charging in Japan

<p>We conducted a questionnaire survey of 218 persons of 10s to 60s in Japan via the internet from 11<sup>th</sup> to 14<sup>th</sup>, December 2020, and obtained 200 valid answers. We grouped the respondents according to the adoption of the reduction to use plastic bags; 100 of those answered that they have reduced to use plastic bags (Group 1), 100 of those answered no behavior changes with charging (Group 2). Questionnaire includes questions related to the attempt to reduce plastic shopping bags, observing others' behavior, reuse behavior, pro-environmental habit, environmental risk perception, and a sense of community. We asked the respondents to state to what extent they carry out or concerned about above questions with 5-point Likert scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree).</p>

Aesthetic Trends and Semantic Web Adoption of Media Outlets Identified through Automated Archival Data Extraction

<p>This dataset includes a variety of structured data gathered via various Web data extraction techniques which were employed in order to collect current and archival data from almost a thousand news websites that are popular in Greece, for the purpose of monitoring and recording their progress through time. The collected information, that took the form of a website&rsquo;s source code and an impression of their homepage in different time instances of the last decade, has been used to identify trends concerning Semantic Web integration, DOM structure complexity, number of graphics, color usage and more. In total more than ten thousands impressions (including screenshots and source code) were analyzed which resulted to conclusions regarding the evolution of aesthetics and the adoption of new technologies.</p>
