Bridge Integrator 2, a New Specific Target for Improving Reproductive Life Span through RPS6 and NNT

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p> <p>Female ovary is the earliest degenerated organ and it faces distinct medical disadvantages that impair primordial follicle reserve and oocyte quality. Herein, we found that bridge integrator 2 (Bin2) was predominant within mouse ovaries and oocytes, and global-knockout of <em>Bin2</em> improved both female fertility and oocyte quality with healthy physiology in mice. Ovarian quantitative proteomics and phosphomics showed that <em>Bin2</em> knockout specifically decreased only p-RPS6 of mTOR pathway; meanwhile, it increased nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT), the free-radical detoxifier, over 6-fold. Mechanically, phosphorylation at Thr423 &amp; Ser424 translocated membrane Bin2 into cytoplasm to phosphorylate RPS6, while p-RPS6 bound 42-95 bp NNT UTR to inhibit NNT translation. We then synthesized a peptide (BPP) to mimic Bin2 inhibition, and found that 3-week BPP injection improved primordial follicle reserve and oocyte quality in aging or chemotherapeutics-treated mice. In all, Bin2 inhibition improve both primordial follicle reserve and oocyte quality without discernible side effects.</p> <p><strong>Supplementary Dataset Legends</strong></p> <p><strong>Supplementary Dataset 1.</strong></p> <p>Related to all fertility assays. Data Documentation Erdgas-BRidGE – Input data for modeling the power, building, and gas sector

<p>This data documentation provides data&nbsp;representing parts of the power, the building and gas sector, which have been compiled within the research project Erdgas-BRidGE (Erdgas - Bedeutung und zuk&uuml;nftige Rolle in der deutschen (German) Energiewende). The aim of this documentation is to increase the transparency of input data for energy modeling in the German context.</p> <p>Therefore, the report Erdgas-BRidGE_Data_Documentation_Report (2021).pdf documents the data collected and processed in the course of the project. Furthermore, the data set Erdgas-BRidGE_Dataset (2021).xlsx provides the compiled or further processed data with separate table sheets. Bridging the flux gap: sap flow measurements reveal species-specific patterns of water-use in a tallgrass prairie

<p>Predicting the hydrological consequences following changes in grassland vegetation type (i.e., woody encroachment) requires an understanding of water flux dynamics at high spatiotemporal resolution for predominant species within grassland communities. However, grassland fluxes are typically measured at the leaf or landscape scale, which inhibits our ability to predict how individual species contribute to changing ecosystem fluxes. We used external heat balance sap flow sensors and a hierarchical Bayesian state-space modeling approach to bridge this "flux-gap" and estimate continuous species-level water flux in common tallgrass prairie species. Specifically, we asked: 1) How do diurnal and nocturnal water fluxes differ among woody and herbaceous plants? (2) How sensitive are woody and herbaceous species to environmental drivers of diurnal and nocturnal water flux? We highlight three results: (1) <i>Cornus drummondii</i>, the primary woody encroacher in this grassland, exhibited the greatest canopy-level water loss, (2) nocturnal transpiration was a large component of the water lost in this ecosystem and was driven primarily by C<sub>4</sub> grasses and <i>C. drummondii</i>, and (3) the sensitivity of canopy transpiration to environmental drivers varies among plant functional types and throughout a 24-hour period. Our data reveal important insights regarding the water-use strategies of woody versus herbaceous species in tallgrass prairies, and about the potential hydrological consequences of ongoing woody encroachment. We suggest that the high, static flux rates observed in woody species will likely deplete deep water stores over time, potentially creating hydrological deficits in grasslands experiencing woody encroachment and concomitantly increasing the vulnerability of these ecosystems to drought.</p>

Swilcan Bridge, St Andrews Links golf course

The Swilcan Bridge is a small stone bridge in St Andrews Links golf course, Scotland. The bridge spans the Swilcan Burn between the first and eighteenth fairways on the Old Course, and has become an important image in the sport of golf. The bridge itself is extremely small; at its farthest extent it measures about 30 feet long, eight feet wide and six feet tall, in the style of a simple Roman arch. Originally built at least 700 years ago to help shepherds get livestock across, it has the modern photographic advantage of great backdrops on three sides: the course's grand Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and Hamilton Grand on one, often a packed grandstand of enthusiasts on another, and rolling hills facing toward the North Sea, on the last. Canal Bridge Protector 1

A metal guard strip on the (east) side of Danbury Street bridge over the Regents Canal, London. These strips were installed to protect the brickwork of the bridge from the ropes used to pull canal boats by horse.
