GALILEO JUPITER PLASMA RESAMPLED BROWSE SPECTRA V1.0
This data set contains spin averaged count rates from selected ion and electron channels from the Plasma Science experiment (PLS) onboard the Galileo spacecraft during the Jupiter orbital operations phase. Effects due to spacecraft charging and to background from high energy penetrating radiation have not been removed.
PVO VENUS ONMS BROWSE SUPERTHERMAL OXYGEN 12 SECOND V1.0
The instrument has detected superthermal, energetic or fast ions whose energy exceeds 36 eV in the spacecraft frame of reference. These ions were observed in early orbits during measurements of the neutral density near periapsis, have an erratic and unpredictable signature, and occur at too high an altitude to be due to the neutral atmosphere. When the altitude of periapsis increased above the point where sensible neutral density measurements could be made, the instrument was configured specifically to detect superthermal ions. In general, for orbit numbers 1 to 645, data were taken from the RPA mode. The gas background signal with the filament on is about a factor of 10 less in this mode than in non-RPA mode, resulting in a lower detection threshold. For orbit numbers above 923, the instrument was deliberately configured with the filament off and non-RPA mode data was used. For mass 16 the RPA voltage is about +3.8 volts.

THIS DATA SET CONTAINS ESTIMATES OF THE ION MOMENT DENSITY IN THE PLS VOLTAGE RANGE (10-5950 EV/Q) AT SATURN DURING THE VOYAGER 1 ENCOUNTER. RIGID COROTATION IS ASSUMED, WHICH LEADS TO AN UNDERESTIMATE OF THE DENSITY IN SOME REGIONS, AS DOES THE USE OF AN ACCEPTANCE AREA RELEVANT FOR A COLD BEAM FOR PLASMA WHICH IS TRANSONIC IN SOME REGIONS. DENSITIES MAY BE UNDERESTIMATED BY A FACTOR OF 2-3 IN THE INNER MAGNETOSPHERE, SO THIS DATA SET SHOULD BE USED PRIMARILY FOR STUDIES USING VARIATIONS IN PLASMA DENSITY. THE FIT DENSITIES GIVE A BETTER ESTIMATE OF THE ABSOLUTE DENSITY. THIS IS THE DATA SHOWN AND DESCRIBED IN DETAIL IN LAZARUS AND MCNUTT (1983).

This data set consists of edited browse data derived from an original data set obtained from the Voyager 1 Planetary Radio Astronomy (PRA) instrument in the vicinity of Jupiter. Data are provided for 70 instrument channels covering the range from 1.2 kHz to 1326 kHz in uniform 19.2 kHz steps, each 1 kHz wide. Data are included for the period 1979-01-06 00:00:48 through 1979-04-13 23:58:24.

This data set consists of Voyager 2 Jupiter encounter ephemeris data in Heliographic coordinates covering the period 1979-06-20 to 1979-08-18. Two versions, both covering the same time period, but containing slightly different data, are provided. One version was generated by the Voyager MAG team from Voyager 2 SEDR, the other by the PDS/PPI node using the VG2_JUP.BSP and PCK00003.TPC SPICE kernels.
