Data used in the study: Sinking Slab Stress and Seismo-tectonics of the Indo-Burmese Arc: A Reappraisal

<p>Differing views on the north-eastern Indian plate subduction and its seismic potential place the subduction process as a relict, ceased, creeping, or fully locked, challenging the seismic hazard uncertainty estimates of Indo-Burmese Arc (IBA) at either extreme. To clear some of these contentions, we re-examine the state of the IBA stress field using available earthquake faulting mechanism solutions. Our stress inversion results underline the tectonic complexity and emphasize that the stress of this subduction is primarily driven by the northward oblique motion of the Indian Plate. Models highlight the presence of the least compressive stresses as the margin-normal component all along the shallow sinking slab. Furthermore, solutions link the shallow strike-slip earthquakes with the lateral slab shear due to oblique slip-partitioning. Spatial variations in the Indian slab stress field indicate higher margin-parallel compression at the Naga versus the Chin and Rakhaine-Arakan segments, implying resistance to the northward motion of India, illuminating the buttressing effects on IBA. Models also depict active ∼E-W shortening across the Kabaw fault. Inversion solutions bring out a higher compressional environment towards the south, along the Sagaing Fault. Finally, based on the overall stress field variations, we speculate that the Rakhine Bangladesh Megathrust could be a low-stress forearc, as across the arc interacting stress fields are weak, capable of generating megathrust ruptures with long replenishment intervals. Due to the spatial stress field variations and buttressing effects, the interface may also exhibit a variable rupture mode.</p>

Clonmel Cross Slab

A cross slab from Clonmel. This project is funded through the Irish Walled Towns Network programme in conjunction with Tipperary County Council' On the surface of the slab there is an incised effigy of a figure clad in a long loose gown falling in many folds to the feet. The left hand is depicted holding the mantle string at chest height and the right hand grasps a fold of the mantle at upper leg height on the dexter side. The head of the figure is missing, either badly spawled or deliberately mutilated and the surface of the lower dexter side is also badly damaged. There is an inscription, in Lombardic characters, along the chamfer on the sinister side. The inscription did not come through in the 3D model as this part of the slab was obcured by the inset cut into the floor. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Inchinnan 1. Recumbent grave-slab.

Project commissioned by [Inchinnan Historical Interest Group](https://www.facebook.com/InchinnanHistoricalInterestGroup/). Funded by Historic Environment Scotland and Heritage Lottery Fund. **Inchinnan 1. Early Christian stone, New Parish Church, Inchinnan, Renfrew.** **Stone type:** Sandstone. This recumbent grave-slab is sculpted with a long-shafted coss and interlace. It is similar to grave-slabs at Govan and probably dates to the 10th-12th centuries. The slab would have been laid over a grave and may have been accompanied by a headstone. At Strathclyde in the 10th century, there was a distinctive school of monuments, influenced by both Pictish and Anglian (Northumbrian) styles of design. http://canmore.org.uk/collection/450030 Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

<p>This repository contains the plugin and dataset used to setup models in the manuscript: &quot;High-resolution mantle flow models reveal importance of plate boundary geometry and slab pull forces on generating tectonic plate motions&quot;. It also includes the corresponding versions of the geodynamics software ASPECT and Worldbuilder which were used to develop the models in the paper.</p> <p>The material model plugin used in our models is in the &quot;plugins&quot; folder. The &quot;models&quot; folder contains the reference input parameter file described in the paper. All other model configurations shown in the paper can be obtained by modifying this parameter file.&nbsp; The input files used to set up the models are in the respective folder. Additionally, the Jupyter notebook used to compute residuals of our models is provided in the &quot;scripts&quot; folder.</p>

Inchinnan 3. Recumbent cross-slab / shrine cover

Project commissioned by [Inchinnan Historical Interest Group](https://www.facebook.com/InchinnanHistoricalInterestGroup/). Funded by Historic Environment Scotland and Heritage Lottery Fund. **Inchinnan 3 (St Conval), Renfrewshire, recumbent cross-slab or shrine cover.** **Stone type: **Sandstone. **Place of discovery: **NS 4904 6803 **Present location:** In a railed shelter outside Inchinnan New Parish Church. **Evidence for discovery: **Recorded by Stuart in the mid 19th century lying in the graveyard. A new church was built in 1900, and the slab was placed on raised plinths outside the church. It was taken to the New Parish Church when the old church was demolished in 1965, and is displayed on a brick plinth in a shelter outside the church. **Date:** Late 9th to 11th century. https://canmore.org.uk/event/1018933 Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
