<p><strong>Model description: </strong><br> Digital outcrop model of Adriabukta, Southern Spitsbergen. The profile shows an overview of the outcrops on the Northern shore of Inner Hornsund Fjord in Adriabukta. To the left on the model are red and yellow Devonian sandstone transitioning up into Late Devonian black Shales of the Adriabukta Fm. Exposed in the middle of the shales is a basement lense composed of whitish basement rocks. Above the shales, the succession shows (mid-) late Carboniferous alluvial red-bed deposits of the Hyrnefjellet Formation (Fm.) which grade upwards into interbedded shallow-marine sandy deposits. Overlying the Hyrnefjellet is the Parallic to shallow marine sandstones and carbonates of the late Carboniferous to early Permian Treskelodden Fm. which is completely carbonate dominated towards its top. Overlying the Treskelodden Fm. is inner shelf chert deposits of the late Permian Kapp Starostin Fm. The boundary between the Treskelodden and Kapp Starostin Fm's records a major unconformity. Both the Hyrnefjellet and Treskelodden Fm's were affected by syn-sedimentary faulting in Burgerbukta area evidenced by the large amount of conglomerate deposits and small growth faults. <b>Model description: </b><br> Digital outcrop model of the Creek 4 profile on the middle of Treskelen peninsula in Inner Hornsund, the stratotype section of the Carboniferous - Early Permian Treskelodden formation, which is composed of conglomerates and sandstones at its base and transitioning up into interbedded calcareous sandstones and carbonates in the maiddle part, in the upper part of the formation and towards the North the Formation is dominated by fossiliferous Carbonates. In addition to the Treskelodden fm. the model also shows the underlying red-beds composed of mainly alluvial fans and shales of the Carboniferous Hyrnefjellet fm. Overlying the Treskelodden fm. and separated by a hiatus and angular? unconformity is approximately 5-7 m of the Late Permian Kapp Starostin fm. which is composed mainly of siliceous cherts and some minor shales. The Svalbox Digital Model Database (DMDb)
<p><strong>The Svalbox Digital Model Database</strong><br> The Svalbox Digital Model Database (DMDb) is a regional DOM database geographically constrained to the Norwegian High Arctic Archipelago of Svalbard at 74-81 °N and 10-35 °E. Svalbard offers exceptional quality, vegetation-free outcrops with a wide range of lithologies and tectono-magmatic styles including extension, compression and magmatism. Data and metadata of the systematically digitized outcrops across Svalbard are shared according to FAIR principles through the Svalbox DMDb. Fully open-access and downloadable DOMs include not just the DOM itself but also the input data, processing reports and projects, and other data products such as footprints and orthomosaics. <b>Model description: </b><br> Digital outcrop model of Aldegondaberget in Southern Bellsund, Wedel Jarlsberg Land. The model features outcrops from the Pre-Devonian basement Deilegga Group,Carboniferous to Permian Treskelodden Formation, Permian Gipshuken and Kapp Starostin Formations and the Triassic Vardebukta, Tvillingodden and BravaisbergetFormations and also features a doleritic sill complex most likely from the Cretaceous Diabasodden Suite.Within the Permian Giphuken and Kapp Starostin formations and the Triassic shaly formations various folds can be observed due to influence from the creationof the West Spitsbergen Orogeny and West Spitsbergen fold and Thrust Belt.<br><br><b>Data availability:</b><br>All uploaded archives are to be extracted to the same directory for a functional working environment, i.e., at the very least consisting of a project folder with the data and metashape subdirectories. <b>Model description: </b><br>Digital outcrop model of Berzeliuseggene in S. Bellsund, Svalbard. The mountainside extrudes up inbetween Blumckebreane and shows outcrops from the Carboniferous to Permian and earliest Triassic. A notable dark layer at the base of the mountainside is a black doleritic sill which is most likely of Cretaceous age. <br><br><b>Data availability:</b><br>All uploaded archives are to be extracted to the same directory for a functional working environment, i.e., at the very least consisting of a project folder with the data and metashape subdirectories. <b>Model description: </b><br>Digital outcrop model the Treskelen Peninsula in inner Hornsund, S Spitsbergen. The model shows the foot of Hyrnefjellet to the left (North) with the famous Hyrnefjellet anticline. The anticline can be traced southwards by the bending of the outcrops along the beach. The model shows middle Carboniferous to Early Triassic outcrops of the Hyrnefjellet, Treskelodden, Kapp Starostin and Vardbukta Formations. The Carboniferous to Early Permian Hyrnefjellet and Treskelen FM's where deposited in a rift basin called the Inner Hornsund Basin and record terrestrial to paralic-shallow marine deposition of a mixed siliciclastic - carbonate sedimentary section. The Kapp Starostion and Vardebukta FM's record deposition in a deeper marine/platform environment divided by the Permian - Triassic boundary which records the largest mass extinction in Earths history.<br><br><b>Data availability:</b><br>All uploaded archives are to be extracted to the same directory for a functional working environment, i.e., at the very least consisting of a project folder with the data and metashape subdirectories.
