A collection of public transport network data sets for 25 cities

This dataset describes the public transport networks of 25 cities across the world in multiple easy-to-use data formats. These data formats include network edge lists, temporal network event lists, SQLite databases, GeoJSON files, and General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) compatible ZIP-files.

The source data for creating these networks has been published by public transport agencies according to the GTFS data format. To produce the network data extracts for each city, the original data have been curated for errors, filtered spatially and temporally and augmented with walking distances between public transport stops using data from OpenStreetMap.

Cities included in this dataset version: Adelaide, Belfast, Berlin, Bordeaux, Brisbane, Canberra, Detroit, Dublin, Grenoble, Helsinki, Kuopio, Lisbon, Luxembourg, Melbourne, Nantes, Palermo, Paris, Prague, Rennes, Rome, Sydney, Toulouse, Turku, Venice, and Winnipeg.

Contrary to the version 1.0 of this data set, this version (1.2) does not include the cities of Antofagasta and Athens, for which non-commercial usage of the data is not allowed.

Contrary to previous versions of the data set (1.0 and 1.2), in this version (1.2) the temporal filtering of the data has been slightly adapted, so that the daily and weekly data extracts cover all trips departing between from 03 AM on Monday to 03 AM on Tuesday (daily extract) or 03 AM of the Monday next week (weekly extract). Additionally, a temporal network extract covering a full week of operations has been added for each city.

Documentation of the data can be found in the Data Descriptor article published in Scientific Data: http://doi.org/10.1038/sdata.2018.89
When using this dataset, please cite also the above-mentioned paper.

4G/LTE Channel Quality Reference Signal Traces Data Set

Mobile networks, especially LTE networks are used more and more for high-bandwidth services like multimedia or video streams. The quality of the data connection plays a major role in the perceived quality of a service. Videos may be presented in a low quality or experience a lot of stalling events when the connection is to slow to buffer the next frames for playback. So far, no publicly available data set exists that has a larger number of LTE network traces and can be used for deeper analysis. In this data set, we provide 546 traces of 5 minutes each with a sample rate of 100 ms. Thereof 377 traces are pure LTE data. We furthermore provide an Android app to gather further traces as well as R scripts to clean, sort, and analyze the data.

Data sets for Color Word Associates Memory and RT Data

Incidental memory and RT data a study examining congruency effects for color word associates (e.g., ocean). In the experiment, subjects incidentally recalled color word associates (e.g., ocean) and neutral words (e.g., lawyer) immediately after naming their font color (Experiment 1a) or reading them aloud (Experiment 1b). In both tasks, recall was better for congruent color word associates (e.g., ocean appearing in blue) than incongruent color word associates (e.g., ocean appearing in green) or neutral items (lawyer appearing in blue). This outcome is consistent with an embodied approach such that co-activation of a semantic color code and a lexical representation strengthens the episodic memory representation and makes it more accessible.

Data set for: Crustal Azimuthal Anisotropy Beneath the Southeastern Tibetan Plateau and its Geodynamic Implications

Abstract of the original paper:

Zheng, T., Ding, Z., Ning, J., Chang, L., Wang, X., Kong, F., Liu, K.H., & Gao, S.S. (2018).
Crustal azimuthal anisotropy beneath the southeastern Tibetan Plateau and its geodynamic implications.
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 123(11), 9733-9749. https://doi.org/10.1029/2018JB015995

The fast orientation and magnitude of crustal azimuthal anisotropy beneath the southeastern Tibetan Plateau and adjacent areas are measured by analyzing the sinusoidal moveout of the P to S converted phase from the Moho. Beneath the tectonically active plateau, the mean magnitude is 0.48 ± 0.13 s, which is about twice as large as that observed in the stable Sichuan Basin (0.23 ± 0.10 s). The two areas are separated by the Longmenshan fault zone, a zone of devastating earthquakes including the 12 May 2008 MW 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake. Fault orthogonal fast orientations observed in the southern Longmenshan fault zone, where previous studies have revealed high crustal Vp/Vs and suggested the presence of mid‐lower crustal flow, may reflect flow‐induced lattice preferred orientation of anisotropic minerals. Fault parallel anisotropy in the central segment of the fault zone is most likely related to fluid filled fractures, and fault perpendicular extensional cracks are probably responsible for the observed anisotropy in the northern segment. The crustal anisotropy measurements, when combined with results from previous studies, suggest the existence of mid‐lower crustal flow beneath the southeastern margin of the plateau. Comparison of crustal anisotropy obtained before and after the Wenchuan earthquake suggests that the earthquake has limited influence on whole crustal anisotropy, although temporal changes of anisotropy associated with the earthquake have been reported using splitting of shear waves from local earthquakes occurred in the upper crust.
