Long-term adult and juvenile periwinkle snail (Littoraria irrorata) density in mid-marsh and creekbank plots from the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER Fall Monitoring Program
This data set includes long-term observation of the abundance of periwinkle snail (Littoraria irrorata) at sampling sites within the Georgia Coastal Ecosystem (GCE) LTER study area. Visual counts of adult Littoraria were conducted within 0.5m x 0.5m quadrats in-line with permanent GCE vegetation plots. Juvenile Littoraria (1-4mm shell length) were found and counted by looking inside all leaf furls within a nested quadrat (0.25m x 0.25m). In each marsh zone at each GCE LTER permanent monitoring site, we counted the number of adult and juvenile snails in 8 creekbank and 12 mid-marsh replicate quadrats. This method was started in 2012 as a new part of the annual GCE monitoring and supplements the invertebrate data that has been collected since October 2000. This data set includes observations from 2012 to 2023 and will be updated annually to include the prior year observations.

Perceptions of heat and air pollution among older adults experiencing homelessness in Phoenix, Arizona (USA) (June 2024)
This dataset consists of survey responses from 40 older adults experiencing homelessness in Phoenix, Arizona (USA), assessing the perceptions of environmental hazards—specifically heat and air pollution—and attitudes toward coping resources and behaviors. The survey includes 51 questions co-created with community members across five categories: demographics and behavior, movement/transportation, climate perceptions, resource availability, and local knowledge mapping. Surveys were conducted indoors at a local service provider over two days in June 2024, when outdoor temperatures reached 42 degrees C and 45 degrees C. The dataset offers insights into potential public service reforms to mitigate heat and air pollution risks among Arizona’s unhoused population. The survey was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Arizona State University (IRB approval number: STUDY00018399).
Adult Population Survey of Hemlock Woolly Adelgid in Massachusetts 2003-2005
To effectively document insect presence and abundance a statistically based sampling plan is necessary. No such plan for the hemlock woolly adelgid is currently available in the published literature. Two interrelated sampling strategies allow a researcher to enter a site and determine with a given level of probability whether or not an HWA infestation is present and the level of infestation. A ground based sampling plan is also critical to the ‘ground truthing’ of aerial survey systems. A fully developed sampling plan requires relatively extensive datasets obtained over time, and may include the use of computer-generated data obtained through re-sampling techniques. The results obtained through the Harvard Forest Summer Research Program should provide a firm foundation for further development of an HWA sampling program. Data collection is on-going.

Physical Health of Adults during Covid-19
<h1>Background</h1> <p>This dataset is one of the studies of the <a href="https://www.corona-health.net/en/">Corona Health project</a>. It addresses how the physical health and habits of adults during the global pandemic changed over time. It consists of two questionnaires, a baseline questionnaire and a bi-weekly follow up questionnaire to track the behaviour in the last 14 days. The whole datasets contains more than <strong>1800 users</strong> (98 % of them German) and a total of <strong>7000 questionnaires</strong>. California Department of Fish and Wildlife Adult Sturgeon Study, Sacramento-San Joaquin Watershed, 1954-2022
The Sacramento-San Joaquin Watershed, located in Central and Northern California, drains approximately 43,000 square miles and terminates at the Golden Gate Bridge. This watershed hosts numerous species of ecological, cultural, and recreational importance, including White (Acipenser transmontanus) and Green Sturgeon (Acipenser medirostris). Sturgeon were severely overfished in the late 1800s and early 1900s, prompting a closure of the recreational and commercial sturgeon fishery in 1917 by the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG; Now California Department of Fish and Wildlife, CDFW). The fishery remained closed until 1954, when a recreational fishery was once again allowed by the CDFG. A single year of surveying was conducted by the CDFG in 1954 to monitor the new fishery and a semi-regular survey was established in 1967. Since then, CDFW has systematically surveyed subadult and adult White and Green Sturgeon as part of the Adult Sturgeon Study, with annual surveys conducted between 2005 and 2022. Capturing adult sturgeon using 3.7m deep drifted trammel nets in areas including Suisun Bay, Grizzly Bay, and San Pablo Bay, these efforts have been supplemented by angler-contributed data, collected through mail returns and river/bay creel surveys. Tagging practices involve individually coded ½” Petersen-disk tags, with reward values introduced in 1974 to encourage angler cooperation and enhance tag return rate accuracy. The adoption of PIT (Passive Integrated Transponder) tags began in 2007 and has been consistently employed since 2019. These data provide insights into tag return rates, recaptures, and mortalities, supporting the estimation of abundance and harvest rates. This comprehensive dataset enriches our understanding of sturgeon population dynamics and is crucial for monitoring California sturgeon.
USFWS Adult White Sturgeon Monitoring, San Joaquin River, 2012-2025
Overview The Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA) funds habitat improvement work and associated monitoring in the Central Valley of California to increase salmonid populations in furtherance of meeting CVPIA fish doubling goals. This data package contains three datasets for adult White Sturgeon (Acipenser transmontanus) monitoring in the San Joaquin River (SJR) conducted by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Lodi Fish and Wildlife Office. The primary purpose for this sampling was to capture White Sturgeon and implant acoustic telemetry tags for a tracking project. Therefore, the data are useful for determining when and where White Sturgeon were captured, but they should not be used to determine actual distribution or abundance. SJR_Adult_WST_Set Data This dataset contains data from a sampling program using various methods to catch adult White Sturgeon in the San Joaquin River. Sets were made at targeted locations primarily from March-May in 2012-2024 (other dates were occasionally sampled). SJR_Adult_WST_Catch Data This dataset contains data for individual fish caught via gillnets, trammel nets, setlines, or angling in the San Joaquin River. Species and fork length were recorded for all fish. For White Sturgeon, girth, maturation, tag, and surgery information are provided. SJR_Fish_Taxonomy Data This dataset contains data for fish codes used in the Catch datafile. For each species that was captured, the Species codes are listed with the corresponding Interagency Ecological Program code, common name, taxonomy (Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species), and whether or not the species is native to the region.
Monitoring adult Chinook salmon upstream passage on Yuba River
Adult salmonid data on the Yuba River is collected and managed by the Yuba Water Agency and the California Department of Water Resources. Upstream passage data is collected year-round at Daguerre Point Dam, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Data from this monitoring is modeled by Brian Poxon and Paul Bratovich to produce estimates of adult escapement (upstream passage) abundance. These data will also be used to inform the development of a juvenile production estimate (JPE) for spring-run Chinook salmon in the Sacramento River Watershed.
