<p>Dataset for the manuscript&nbsp; Marmet, Studer, Lemoine, Grazioli, Bertholet &amp; Gmel (2019). Reconsidering the associations between self-reported alcohol use disorder and mental health problems in the light of co-occurring addictions in young Swiss men. Plos One. DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0222806.</p> <p>The dataset contains all data needed to reproduce the results in the above cited manuscript. Variable description and labels can be found in the codebook. For further information on the&nbsp;instruments used&nbsp;please refer to the manuscript.</p> <p>The data was collected between April 2016 and March 2018 in Switzerland by the C-SURF study (<a href="http://www.c-surf.ch">www.c-surf.ch</a>). Participants were on average 25&nbsp;years&nbsp;old when they&nbsp;answered the questionnaires.&nbsp;The final sample size used in the manuscript is 5516. Please note that the dataset contains 25 datasets created with multiple imputation, therefore there are no missing values in the dataset.</p> <p>The research protocol for this study was approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Canton Vaud (Protocol No. 15/07). Data collection was funded by the Swiss National Science&nbsp;Foundation (FN 33CSC0-122679, FN 33CS30_139467, FN 33CS30_148493)</p>

<p>This dataset includes all the data and scripts needed to reproduce the analysis and results on the manuscript &quot;Patterns of reduced cortical thickness and striatum pathological morphology in cocaine addiction&quot; (<a href="https://www.biorxiv.org/content/early/2018/04/22/306068">link</a>). The brain data is not raw, as T1w were not defaced. We will do so in the near future for version 2.0.&nbsp;Instead we include only the &quot;output/thickness&quot; files used in the final analysis. For the use of raw T1w images, please contact the main author EAGV.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Note: Paths will&nbsp;differ in the script.</p>

<p>This dataset accompanies our publication titled: &quot;Single-nucleus RNA-seq and ATAC-seq in outbred rats with divergent cocaine addiction behaviors reveal long-term changes in gene regulation and GABAergic inhibition in the amygdala.&quot;</p> <p><strong>Files Included:</strong></p> <p><strong>1. geno.N26.vcf.gz</strong><br> &nbsp; &nbsp; - Description: Contains genotypes for 26 Heterogeneous Stock rats whose gene expression was predicted.</p> <p><strong>2. pred_expr.Brain.N26.tsv</strong><br> &nbsp; &nbsp; - Description: This tab-delimited table contains predicted relative gene expression in the brain for 26 Heterogeneous Stock rats.&nbsp;<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; - Details: Predictions were made for 8,997 genes from linear models based on cis-eQTLs from whole brain hemisphere tissue downloaded from the <a href="https://ratgtex.org/download/">RatGTEx Portal</a>. A gene is included in the table if it had at least one significant cis-eQTL, and if its predicted expression in these 26 animals had nonzero variance. Cross-sectional study of Facebook addiction in a sample of Nepalese population

<p><strong>Background</strong>: Facebook addiction is said to occur when an individual spends an excessive amount of time on Facebook, disrupting one's daily activities and social life. The present study aimed to find out the level of Facebook addiction in the Nepalese context and briefly discuss the crimes associated with its unintended use.</p> <p><strong>Methods: </strong>A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Forensic Medicine of Lumbini Medical College. The study instrument was the Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale typed into a Google Form and sent randomly to Facebook contacts of the authors. The responses were downloaded in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 16.</p> <p><strong>Results: </strong>The study consisted of 103 Nepalese participants, of which 54 (52.42%) were males and 49 females (47.58%). There were 11 participants (10.68%) who had more than one Facebook account. When different approaches were applied it was observed that 8.73% (n=9) to 39.80% (n=41) were addicted to Facebook.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>When used properly Facebook has its own advantages. Excessive use is linked with health hazards including addiction and dependency. Students who engage more on Facebook will have less time studying leading to poor academic performance.People need to be made aware of the issues associated with the misuse of Facebook</p>
