MONUMENTO A "SIMÓN BOLÍVAR"

EL PARQUE SIMÓN BOLÍVAR También conocido como paso de las ánimas y alameda del centenario; en la colonia este lugar fue conocido como el paso de las ánimas porque las esclavas, que llevaban agua del rio, vestian largas túnicas blancas y en las noches sus siluetas parecian las de unas ánimas rondando el lugar. Con motivo del centenario de la independencia de Colombia (1910) en este espacio se construyó un parque un parque diseñado por el arquitecto bugueño Enrique Figueroa y se le dio el nombre de Alameda del Centenario. En 1930, la sociedad de mejoras Públicas emprendio su renovación para conmemorar los cien años de la muerte del libertador, lo rebautizó con el nombre de Parque simón Bolívar y erigió en su honor una réplica de la escultura que hizo Pedro Tenerani para la Plaza de Bolivar de Bogota. Tambien se ubicó en el parque un busto como tributo y recordatorio del escritor bugueño Luciano Rivera y Garrido, autor del libro *Estampas y recuerdos.* (Mincomercio Industria y tursimo, 2018) Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
