Cuneiform Inscriptions Geographical Site - Assemblage Estimates (CIGS-AE)
<p>The <em>Cuneiform Inscriptions Geographical Site - Assemblage Estimates </em>(CIGS-AE) provides basic overall estimates of and bibliographical references for the approximate number of cuneiform inscriptions derived from individual archaeological locations. In use across the wider Middle East from c. 3,400 BCE until 100 CE, cuneiform is one of the earliest and most extensively documented ancient scripts in world history. The CIGS-AE is a component of the <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4960710">Cuneiform Inscriptions Geographial Site (CIGS)</a> index, a digital geospatial register of archaeological sites with finds of cuneiform inscriptions across Europe, Asia, and Africa.</p> <p>CIGS-AE provides a first comprehensive quantitative overview of the approximate number of cuneiform inscriptions unearthed from known archaeological locations. It does not provide an overview of the entire corpus of cuneiform inscriptions known, as the index disregards all inscriptions with no verifiable archaeological origin, estimated to be between fifteen and twenty per cent of the overall corpus according to the catalogue of the <a href="https://cdli.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/heatmap">Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative</a>. The present resource then offers a lower threshold for the size of the full cuneiform corpus and a fairly reliable overview of its general distribution. The accompanying bibliography offers a basic set of references for all known archaeological sites with finds of cuneiform inscriptions. This information is intended as a starting point for further study, and should not be considered an exhaustive nor authoritative bibliography.</p> <p>This resource has been prepared by researchers of the <a href="http://lingfil.uu.se/">Department of Linguistics and Philology</a> of <a href="http://uu.se/">Uppsala University</a>. The index is intended as a tool for students and researchers in cuneiform studies and related areas and as an aid to cultural heritage managers and educators in communicating and safeguarding this unique body of world written heritage. Coordinates given use the WGS 1984 geographic coordinate reference system (<a href="https://epsg.io/4326">EPSG 4326</a>) and have been truncated to four decimal digits. Site locations have been traced from archaeological gazetteers and web mapping services (e.g. <a href="https://pleiades.stoa.org/">Pleiades</a>, <a href="https://www.geonames.org/">GeoNames</a> and <a href="https://www.openstreetmap.org/">OpenStreetMap</a>) and digitally generated from optical recognition using current and legacy satellite imagery datasets in QGIS 3.x.</p> <p>The version 1.7 data set is updated to correlate with archaeological locations included in the <a href="https://cdli.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de">Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative</a> table of proveniences (see <a href="https://cdli.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/proveniences">https://cdli.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/proveniences</a>), migrated July 2023. CIG Publications 2010-2015 Dataset
<p>In the geosciences as in other scientific areas, computation has become a core component of research, complementing field observation, laboratory analysis, experiment, and theory. Computational tools for data analysis, mapping, visualization, modeling, and simulation are essential for all aspects of the scientific workflow. Specialized scientific software is often developed by geoscientists for their own use, and this effort represents a distinctive intellectual contribution that can be on par with data collection and publications. Thus it is important to be able to properly attribute this effort, both to assign credit to the software authors and contributors, and to establish the provenance of software, promote its reuse, and support efforts to ensure reproducibility of scientific results.<em> </em>Drawing on a geoscience community that focuses on developing and disseminating scientific software, we assess the current practices of software attribution.</p> <p>The recent citation practices of the Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics (CIG), geodynamics.org, community were assessed by examining its publication list from 2010-2015 [Article List.csv]. Influence of annealing atmosphere on performances of CIGS film by sputtering from quaternary targets
<p>Quaternary sputtering without additional selenization is a low-cost alternative method for the preparation of Cu(InGa)Se<sub>2</sub> (CIGS) thin film for photovoltaics. However, the device efficiency without selenization is much lower than that with selenization. To illuminate the issue, we compared the properties of absorbers including the morphology, depth profile, composition, electrical properties and the recombination mechanism comprehensively. The results revealed that the superficial Se of CIGS film annealed in Se-free atmosphere is less than that annealed in Se-containing atmosphere,and the loss of Se reduced the carrier concentration and enhanced the resistivity of CIGS film. Besides, the loss of Se caused the dominant recombination mechanism to be CIGS/CdS interface recombination. The increase of interface recombination was considered to be the reason for the reduced efficiency of the device annealed in Se-free atmosphere.</p>
Simulation Results for the Investigation of Back Surface Field layer for High Efficiency Ultrathin In2S3 based CIGS Solar Cell
<p>A comprehensive study of a novel structure for In2S3 based CIGS solar cell has been observed. The effects of the absorber layer and temperature with various back surface field (BSF) layers (SnS/SnTe/MoTe2/GeTe) are analyzed with the SCAPS-1D simulator. Performances of the ultrathin CIGS solar cell enhanced with the proposed structure of ZnO:Al/i-ZnO/In2S3/CIGS/BSF/Mo and efficiency reached over 24% with 1000 nm CIGS absorber layer. The cell with SnS BSF layer has obtained 24.41% efficiency but shows less stability with temperature variation. On the other hand, the cell with MoTe2 BSF shows better stability at a higher temperature and reached an efficiency of 24.14%. Besides, the cell with SnTe BSF also suitable for ultrathin In2S3/CIGS, which results in an efficiency of 23.27%. However, the cell with GeTe BSF can give just over 18% efficiency, but it shows greater stability with temperature changes.</p>
