CCE LTER process cruise, in the California Current region, event log records including date, time, position and activity for use in post-cruise data integration based on co-sampling indexes. From 2006 to 2019 CCE LTER used a locally developed event logging system. During P2107, CCE LTER started to utilize the R2R Event Logger on UNOL ships, 2006 - 2024 (ongoing).

The event logger program developed and maintained by the California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigations, SIO, program is used aboard CCE LTER process cruises to create indexes with temporal, spatial and activity information for post-cruise data integration. The event log is configured aboard the ship for the recording of sampling events by both ship crew personnel on the bridge, and research personnel in the lab. The event log is processed post-cruise to correct for various errors.

<p>Unseparated Pulse Energy Spectrogram</p> <p>Processed audio data.</p> <p>Sound source separation is a <strong>preliminary</strong> for <strong>acoustic scene classification</strong>. It can be argued that rare sound detection can be performed without separation, but in most cases it also depends on it.</p> <p>I have come up with the theory that the full <strong>time-domain</strong>, or if assumptions are made on the amplitude-waveform or the phase-profile, even the <strong>sequence</strong> of events can be <strong>discarded</strong> for acoustic scene classification.</p> <p>For short time frame bins, a <strong>statistical representation</strong> should be enough to correctly identify the scene. Even more so, if deep&nbsp;learning methods are applied.</p> <p>I have also come up with the theory that <strong>energy</strong> scalograms are applied <strong>pulse-length</strong> or waveform/profile-length wise. This can enhance the input representation for machine learning.</p> <p>Furthermore I have used derivatives of the time signal and applied similar signal processing methods to them. For visualisation I have added them to the original scalogram in different colors. The use of <strong>derivatives</strong> is very much <strong>distorted</strong>, if the sound is not separated.</p>

Organizing the fragmented landscape of multidisciplinary product development: A mapping of approaches, processes, methods and tools from the scientific literature - Searchable cartographies

<p>This document gathers cartographies for the development of mechatronic products, cyber-physical systems and smart products. The three cartographies presented are associated with an open-access article &ndash; see the citation box below&nbsp;&ndash; and differ from the ones provided in the article in that they are searchable, which makes it easier to pinpoint references, concepts and techniques. This document comprises a legend, the cartographies and a list of associated references.&nbsp;</p> <p>To contextualize the cartographies, the integration of digital and connectivity technologies in new products can invite companies to adapt their development. Organizing the fragmented landscape of multidisciplinary product development to help companies navigate the dense scientific literature corpus is a first step in supporting them in doing so. Multidisciplinary product development can be investigated by analyzing specific types of products that deal with both software and hardware development and can be referred to as cyber-physical systems, mechatronics, and smart products and systems in the literature. To support their development, 236&nbsp;&ldquo;concepts and techniques&rdquo; (an expression that encompasses approaches, processes, methods and tools) were identified from 167&nbsp;scientific papers through an extensive literature review and organized based on a four-level model paired with a decision tree. The mapping of the sorted concepts and techniques made it possible to generate graphical representations called &ldquo;cartographies.&rdquo; These cartographies represent a database of concepts and techniques for multidisciplinary product development and serve to support companies in their transformation from the product development perspective by providing them with a general overview of the related literature.</p>

<p>This study has proposed a diabetes diagnosis system, which is formed via both Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Cognitive Development Optimization Algorithm (CoDOA). In this approach, the training process of the SVM has been supported with the CoDOA and after determining the most optimum sigma (&sigma;) parameter of the Gauss (RBF) kernel function (so the most optimum SVM), a better classification formation has been tried to be achieved. In the context of the study, diabetes data set, which is related to Pima Indians, has been used for evaluating effectiveness of the proposed approach and after six different application processes, it was seen that the approach is well-enough on classification, which means being capable of determining diabetes. There are also some future works regarding the developed CoDOA-SVM based approach. In this context, there will be some more works for improving classification accuracy and also setting different optimization plans on i.e. different parameters of the kernel function. Additionally, it is aimed to evaluate the approach with datasets belonging to different diseases.</p>

NEMARCO project: Dataset for the publication "Development of a new manufacturing route for NiCrSiFeB alloys by Direct Energy Deposition Laser Beam process (LMD)"

<p><strong>LMD dataset</strong></p> <p>This dataset gathers data from different parts of the Laser Metal Deposition metal Additive Manufacturing process (DED-LB). The dataset covers not only the process development data for samples manufacturing and monitored data of the melt pool size during the process, but also the metrics associated to the powder feedstock consumption, energy consumption and process efficiency.</p> <p><strong>Motivation</strong></p> <p>Nickel-based NiCrSiFeB alloy (Ni-Cr-Si-B self-fluxing family) are excellent candidates for replacing Cobalt-based alloys in aeronautical components such as sealing rings, valve seats, sliding bearing seats, etc. In this type of components, commonly manufactured by centrifugal casting and conventional processes, high temperature wear and stiffness under complex thermo-mechanical stresses cause lack of sealing and an increase in the wear rate. Metal additive manufacturing by direct laser metal deposition with powder (p-LMD) is presented as a potential manufacturing route for the complex processing of this type of alloys. This research work deals with the development of a new manufacturing route using p-LMD that ranges from the proper selection of the chemical composition for the starting powders, the development of the LMD process parameters to tackle the challenges associated to the wide &nbsp;solidification range and crack susceptibility of Ni-Cr-Si-B alloys, its monitoring and control, as well as the post- processing required to achieve the manufacture of aeronautical components.</p>

Process data for development of a digital material shadow for the press hardening route of medium manganese steel

<p>Press-hardened ultra-high strength steel parts are widely used in the automotive sector for their lightweight and safety advantages. Medium-Manganese Steels (MMnS) are being explored as an alternative to boron-manganese steels due to their high strength and ductility after quenching, achieved at lower annealing temperatures thus reducing energy usage and carbon emissions. However, industrial adoption of MMnS is hindered by challenging processing requirements, e.g. in cold-rolling and press hardening. To expedite and improve the process development, data-driven decisions based on process parameters hold promise. Establishing a link between process data and the final produced part necessitates the development of a framework for a Digital Material Shadow (DMS). This paper investigates the development of a DMS framework for the cold rolling and press hardening process chain. In conjunction with conventional data acquisition methods employed for cold rolling, novel data acquisition techniques are introduced specifically tailored for press hardening, ensuring the comprehensive availability of relevant data. Moreover, a data pipeline is implemented to enable automatic processing, visualization, and analysis of process data. To facilitate seamless data linkage across processes in the DMS, an ID-system is introduced. Finally, the developed framework&rsquo;s validity is demonstrated by creating a DMS for press-hardened MMnS parts, showcasing its potential for practical applications.</p>
